Overall, it was a pleasant stay but I think it struggles. Management has cut corners to save costs, when you arrive they've done away with reception so when you first arrive you are faced with staff who, although they are very competent and friendly, are basically using their mobiles to assist you. There's something very poor about the customer experience now, it's not as it was in 2015 which was much better. Staff were very good though, including cleaning staff, but I think they had their hands full on many occasions. They seriously need to get the room card reader sorted, many times during the stay the cards didn't work for the lift or the room 228 was an excellent room, I booked the same quality a few days later and was 280, out-dated, very dirty under the bed and the bathroom was inadequate and basically seemed old, with no showers gel on arrival which is not a good start after a flight. I want to recommend this hotel because the staff do try under the circumstances and the location is great, but I can't say that i'll return.

Good location and the rooms have been refreshed Air Conditioning warms up the room rather than having a cooling effect despite the adjustments made to the controls to ensure it cools the room Staff ensured the missing A-Club status is added to the booking.

No free car parking, room was satisfactory for a budget hotel, when we mentioned there was a small problem in the room staff checked it and left a card and bottles of water as an apology, this was acceptable. Convenient for visiting Greenwich .

« Comfortable but no air-co?? »

Accommodation was fine but for GBP 130 I expect, most people would expect there to be air-co in the room. London at 27c with 100% humidity means a room with no air-co is hot, stuffy and uncomfortable. This should be obvious and appears to be a cheap cost saving exercise but not including it which lets the overall experience of the stay down.

free breakfast was worthless, waste of time and attention, not fair offering customers a breakfast which shouldn't be called one at all... dirty teaspoon, asked for choc pastry and got a plain one, very basic coffee which anyway is available in rooms, such a small portions and light breakfast - maybe for a child but not for an adult!!!!!!!!!! would recommend the hotel be honest and not lie to customers they offer free breakfast as it is not breakfast at all!!!!!!! it is just a snack.......

Unusual way of booking in but adequate ,good breakfast,got a good nights sleep once you forgot about the fans on the roof outside our window. The only fault we could find was the position of the toilet as there was not enough legroom

Very good room excellent easy book in & out. Staff helpful, only downside it was very hot over the days we stayed and Cafe Rouge would not let us use one of their outside tables as we had bought our drinks in the hotel. Both the only 2 tables which the hotel has were occupied and there were plenty of empty tables on the Cafe Rouge side. Perhaps obtain some more tables?

Service from the staff and facilities were excellent as always. However, the continued lack of a reception desk is still a negative point and check-in at busy times is chaotic with guests standing around with bags, etc alongside people waiting for bar service and staff having to move from place to place to get card machines, iPads, book car parking, etc. There was confusion amongst guests as to whose turn it was next. Time and motion experts would have a field day. Your Manchester IBIS still retains a small check-in desk after its refurbishment and it works so much better.

Having stayed at this hotel many times over the years, the latest 'improvements' are a massive downward move. Maybe it's trendy not to have a reception desk and just have people in T-shirts hanging around the reception area with their i-phones (or very often, not), but in reality this is not an efficient way of dealing with a number of people. We hung around (with three other people) for 15 minutes while one guest was checked in (because our keycard had failed again, and our room had not been cleaned by 3 PM for the second day, despite us being out since 10.30), while a lady in plain view in the office ignored us. The guest behind us was on her second visit within a few minutes because her keycard issue had not been resolved, so had to hang around again hoping to be noticed. She was making it very clear that this was her first and last visit to this hotel. What happened to their much publicised 15-minute guarantee? When we were eventually dealt with, we were told the reason for the late clean was that the hotel was full and they needed to do the rooms for new guests first! but it would be done ...............sometime. This was more unacceptable as the previous day we had agreed with the cleaner that she could leave the room as we didn't want to be disturbed later. After insisting that it might be nice to actually relax in our £140 room, she eventually promised it would be done in 20 minutes. I appreciate this is a tough issue , but maybe it would be an idea to get some more cleaners!! Surely it should not be assumed that you'll be out all day or not want to use the room during the day? Or is it a case that we've got your money so you can go to the back of the queue...........This is absolutely not a criticism of the cleaner, who was clearly rushed of her feet and did a really good job. The 'Sweet Room' was advertised as 'premium materials and softer, more cocooning furnishings' - as in the plastic chair, formica headboard (showing a picture of soft materials) and the plywood fittings. Really felt cocooned.........The bathroom was fine if you were slim and fit and could see in the dark. Plus points - despite being on the ground floor, good soundproofing and air-con. Will we stay again? Of course! but only because we like Café Rouge and it's right next door!

Hotel fine. Room smelled awful - paint and damp . Check in took a while even though I had done it on line the day before. The lady tried to charge me again - even though I paid at booking months ago. Apparently, when I booked, I chose 1 large bed but I definitely do not recall doing this , why would I when it is 1 adult and 1 child. Nothing could be done though as no other twin rooms available I was told. Great location, clean and easy.

Overall our stay was good, we were out and about constantly so only used the hotel for sleeping. The room was pretty small but ok, the bed was very comfortable and housekeeping kept it very clean and tidy. A couple of things prevent a higher score; we paid for an early check in but had to wait about half an hour for a room, and a cinema card went missing from our room. The charge for early check in was refunded.
