In general my stay was very pleasant and ideal for the activities I had in Nancy. Although this IBIS has no own restaurant, guests enjoy a discount at the Cafe Leffe restaurant next door where excellent food can be had. The guest room was clean and tidy. My only small complaint was that the Airco was not so effective - it did not cool the room much.

It is typical Ibis room, but it is older than most, and smaller than most. There was no kettle in the room, so impossible to have a tea or coffee quietly in your room.

Hotel just opposite the railway station. My room was small (or, rather, the bed was too big for the room) but clean. The WC could do with a dose of bleach, the air-conditioning device was broken and a large piece of enamel was missing from the bath--leaving a black patch. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast is excellent.

I always stay at a ibis when visiting France unless they a fully booked. They service and standard are consistent so there is generally no unexpected surprises to complicate or spoil my travel.

As this was not the first time I have stayed at the IBIS Nancy Centre Gare, I knew what to expect. I find this hotel very convenient for my activities in Nancy. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is fine for my needs. although there are no scambled eggs, only boiled eggs one can time oneself. This time, I had one major complaint : I was awoken during the night by the smell of cigarette smoke coming into my room from the next door neighbouring guest room. This room had a connecting door (locked of course) with my room but the smoke & smell passed easily under the door. In other countries smoking in a non-smoking hotel room is an offence, and hotels can fine the occupant. Unfortunately I heard from reception that this not yet possible in France. My suggestion to the hotel management is that they should levy a charge on the occupant who has smoked to cover the cost of cleaning and sanitizing the room. In UK and NL, this charge can be up to about Euros 250 with the threat of legal proceedings. It took me a long time to fall asleep again, because I needed the window to be open to dispel the smoke and smell. I hope IBIS hotel will take action to prevent this happening again.

« Perfect location »

Just across the road from Gare De Nancy so perfect for getting the train to Paris the next morning. A lovely hotel and very friendly staff. My room was great, very comfortable bed and the shower had excellent water pressure. The buffet breakfast was excellent and a good start to the day. This hotel is a great location and within walking distance to everything that lovely about Nancy.

Satisfactory. My only complaint is that breakfast was added to my bill which I had not asked for and would not have chosen to have but it seemed easier to take the breakfast than try to have it removed from the invoice. If someone arrives having booked a room only you should ask them before adding the breakfast charge.

The receptionist on arrival was very very rude due to a slight mix up over the phone from another hotel (who were very helpful) we were booked in for 2 rooms when we only wanted 1. After explaining he was very rude and patronising, then later checking my email receipt after I had left I had been overcharged for my stay!!! I will not be staying there again and am in the process of trying to get back the money I am owed.
