The room was really small. There was no handsoap and noting in the minibar. For 200€ a night it was way overpriced. Would not recommend or come back

Location of hotel was amazing right on the beach, however photos online delivering and were not like the room given. Value for money was not good, breakfast was very average.

Terrible experience. AC only blew warm air and when reported to management multiple times we were told that 'AC is France is not like the US' which is a complete like. The AC in the room simply did not work as I stayed in 4 other hotels in France with perfect AC. Also the room was not the standard room pictures on Hotels.com but a mezzanine room that was the worst I have ever experienced. This experience is unfortunate as I am fairly influencial over the corporate business travel decisions for the very large multi-national I work for. Mercure used to be a place we would use across the EU for travel, but not anymore. This hotel was terrible and just cost Accor tens of thousands of dollars in travel per year as I will not allow our staff to stay in such terrible hotels.

I checked in on the 30th and was treated very well. I had to add another date and the gentleman at the reception area took care of making sure I was covered. He upgraded me for two of the nights because there were no other rooms available and that was quite lovely. The location is perfect for both the old town visit and the view of the sea.

« Very Poor Room »

On checking in we were given a room where the bed was so close to a pillar it was only accessible from one side. This was unacceptable. We asked to change the room, and were told there was only one other room available as the hotel was fully booked. Whilst this room was very small the bed was at least accessible from both sides. However, when we tried to unpack, we realised that there was not enough room to store our suitcases, and they were in the way when trying to walk around the room. Also, there was a step up to access the bathroom, which is not ideal. The view from the window and balcony was of a yard and the backs of other residencies, and a real unattractive smell... Although there was an air conditioning unit in the room, even at it's lowest setting it failed to cool the room in the night, leaving the room very warm, and sleep difficult. At breakfast the main coffee machine was not working and only espresso coffee was available. The range of food, however, was acceptable and the staff friendly and attentive. The reception staff were very good and were very apologetic about the choice of room available, but as an Accor Gold Card member I was very disappointed with the room allocation - I accept room upgrades are not always available, but having booked over a month in advance, I would have expected a better apportioned room. We would love to visit Nice again, but would never consider staying at this hotel again. Our experience was very poor. I have since looked at the web pages for the hotel and I believe the photographs to be very misleading and if I had known what the rooms were like before booking I would have definitely booked a different hotel. The location is great, but it does not deserve a 4* designation. In my opinion this hotel is a blight on the Mercure brand.

This is the worst value Accor hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was so small, we couldn't even find a place on the floor for our suitcases. Air conditioning wasn't effective, steps to and from the bathroom. View from room over yard. Nothing like the pictures on the website!

our stay began with a Rick Steve’s Tour, with an extended two night stay on my own. It was a very well located property to walk everywhere around the old village of Nice. The room was comfortable. I did, however, have an issue with the metal on the door jamb. I tore a new dress on the sharp edge that is not flush with the wood of the door. It is dangerous. I asked at the desk for some reduction off my charge to assist in covering repair cost. A copy of my dress receipt was left with the receptionist. I was in room 16. I would appreciate any help with matter.

We stayed four nights and enjoyed five full days of hot weather. The location of the hotel is excellent, especially for the old city and the Promenade des Anglais. The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful with our needs. Our room had a balcony and sea view, which was perfect and the bedroom itself was comfortable. The bathroom was small but modern and stylish and very well equipped. The only criticism we have is the lack of wardrobe space.
