« London Weekend »

Chose this hotel for it's location. 10minute walk from St Pancras train station. Able to walk 25/30 minutes into West End/Oxford Street/Covent Garden etc. Quiet, clean and excellent breakfast, although tables could have been cleaned sooner.

« Red team vs Black Team »

With 25 years experience in the hospitality, I always look forward to to learn from 'other's', new ideas and visions to take back this knowledge with me for self improvement. Sadly to say, in my opinion, Ibis London Euston- St Pancras, was fraught with problems-, stemming with Red team ( reception) and Black Team ( dinning area), not working as team players. On the first morning, went down for breakfast at 6.30am- Some tables had used plates left by customers and some tables were dirty. These plates and the tables were not cleaned till 7.30am, when waitress arrived. Case 1) I approached the Red team , and asked if someone could please wipe down the tables, only to be told, that I had to speak to the Black team - In my opinion, normal response would be " Thank you for letting me know, i will advise the Black team immediately . Case 2) I advised Red team, that the FREE PC for Internet on reception level, that the settings are in French. Asked if they could help to change back to English- only to be told- "Sorry- I do not know how to do it and walked away " Normal response would be- " Sorry, I do not know how to do it, but will locate someone to assist you " Case 3) Next day at breakfast-, ask Red Team ( this staff was in the bar area) if i could please have some hot milk- only to be told- " You will need to speak to a Black team member ( only 1 meter away) for the hot milk - Normal response _ Happy to help, or sure or anything. Case 4) Each morning- breakfast tables continued not to be cleaned or wiped down. Case 5) Breakfast staff always look grumpy and not once do they greet customers- with "good morning" or any pleasant greetings. Case 6) Cotton cushioned Chairs in dinning , dirty, soiled and grubby- Case 7) Asked for a cereal spoon, as I could not locate any- When requested, I was given a teaspoon by Black team - Reason- " They should have the cereal spoons put out, it is not my job to locate it " Case 8) Red Team and Black team, seem to enjoy having a good yarn with each other, when not busy Positive notes- Breakfast spread was great- excellent choice with good variety- Food was hot and tasty- Enjoyed the fresh fruit/cereals and the yummy baked beans. Dinner- Excellent service by the dinner waitress on both nights- Very pleasant, greeted us warmly and made us feel welcomed- Also recommended a few dishes. Housekeeping- Very friendly- always leaving the room, fresh and clean Check in A excellent welcome , but than it went down hill after that Overall Summary In my opinion, i sense that the staff does not interact with each other. It is the scenario, " It is not my job., let someone deal with it and the " I do not care attitude " " While, I am sure, that are are some staff, that work well with each other, but during my stay, i did not have the opportunity to see this interaction - which is a shame- hence this survey.

« A caring Hotel or an unwelcoming Discotheque? »

I dislike that you have removed the reception and when I checked in, there was no staff member to talk to. I stood there for a while, wondering what to do. Then I saw somebody in the far corner, wearing a red top, chatting with two ladies, so I walked closer. The two ladies were getting advice about sightseeing, so I had to wait a while. Then another staff member came, but as there was neither a counter, nor a queue, he was appropached by another guest, that had just arrived and should have been served after me. There was loud techno music, so by standing there waiting and being cut in line, irritated me from the first moment. In the evening, after my evening meeting, I came to the hotel again, along with some collegues. We had dinner there and drinks, and I can truly say that we occupied more than half of the seats in use, all evening. Then all of a sudden the lights were dimmed — so much — that we could not see our notes and objects in our hands, which resulted in us leaving before we really wanted to, feeling unwanted and it seems you want us to take our business elsewhere. When we left, I counted how many other customers were left, and there were 3. We, on the other hand, were over 30 … and we were feeling unwelcome at your place. At one time, during the evening, I went to the bar to buy drinks — and I had to wait for almost 15 minutes to get served, as there was nobody there. There was nobody in the lobby and there were two of us waiting to be served. When a young lady finally came behind the bar, and I asked for coffee and a coke, the only thing she could consentrate on, was whether I was a residence or not. I asked her why, and she said that she could not serve alcohol to people that were not staying at the hotel. You are starting to treat people hostile — like you don't want their business. This is very sad.

« Sufficient »

An IBIS, no more no less but on this occasion, Room 449 opposite the service lift was extra noisy, even late with doors opening and shutting and cages clashing

« Speedy check-in, polite and friendly staff, ideal location for railway stations and London sightseeing »

Bit taken back with plastic bathroom pod in corner of room. Had to remember not to fall down high step if facility used during hours of darkness. Otherwise, the stay was satisfactory. We liked the sitting area downstairs, found it ideal for sitting with cup of coffee or glass of wine.

« Good experience at reasonable price »

Good experience overall. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a little limited for a hotel of this size, e.g. just one type of cheese. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. I would stay again.

« One night stand »

No conventional check in arrangement so when allocated room was found to be already in use, another hunt for someone to get us an alternative was necessary. Door keys kept failing to operate causing three further returns to the lobby. Shower gel containers were empty. Sloppy performance all round

« Great location, but room overheated »

Easy check in, small but comfortable room, great shower over a bath that only a child could use as one - but thermostat broken, so room constantly heated. We had to open window (which is a rare blessing in a lot of high rise hotels now) and endured the street noise, but still slept okay.

Pleasant with quirky check-in, bizarre 'lounge ' chairs, reasonably priced bar and comfy bed.

« pleasant »

bed was to close to the wall as I am disabled and was unable to put my leg/foot on the floor. My husband took down one of the side tables to enable him to move the bed over further for me to get into and out of bed. I put on of my tops on the shelves only to find that when I went to wear it, it was cover in black. Running my hand along the shelf I found it was covered in a black film- not been cleaned for some time??.(room 435- third shelf).

« Woke up with bite marks all over my body »

The hotel room carpet filthy as was the bed with marks all over the sheets. I woke up after my first night with bite marks all over my body, from what I have no idea, I can only assume bed bugs. I seriously considered booking another hotel, but I had spent so much on this hotel I simply couldn't justify the extra expense. I stay away in hotels around 3 days a week with my work and have never been so dissatisfied with any hotel I have stayed in. Downstairs the staff were helpful and the hotel looked modern, it was a shame this level of standard did not stretch to the rooms. I would never stay at an IBIS hotel again and would actively tell people to avoid it I felt so strongly about it.

Very satisfactory one night stay. Room and breakfast excellent. I didn't like the check in arrangements. I checked in online. On arrival to collect my key the lobby was crowded. A couple of check in staff in red tops were wandering about with tablets or iPads trying to deal with customers. There was no queueing system and it was a matter of catching the eye of one of the staff. I much prefer assistants behind desks. The current system is messy and disorganised.

Experience was good, staff very helpful. Only criticism was that more staff are needed to clear tables at breakfast times.

« Perfect overnight start to a journey »

Great location, good facilities and staff. Advance on line checking is great for a hotel in a busy location and so so simple checkout when one has an early start on Eurostar.

« Noisiest hotel room I have ever stayed in! »

Have stayed at Ibis Euston many times, am Accor gold. The room was small and we had to keep window open. The street location resulted in almost unending noise, some type of altercation at 1am and regularly noisy traffic. Would never stay in a room over the street again. Did not sleep the last night as some long lasting street fight. These rooms should be air conditioned so you can keep window closed. If we were staying another night I would have insisted on being moved.

Hotel efficient and comfortable but rather clinical. No proper reception, bar and entrance area like an airport. Comfortable room, good shower, uninspiring breakfast
