It was frustrating. I checked in and was told someone was checking to see if my room was ready. I was there early so I did not expect it to be ready. But the agent walked away saying someone was checking and I didn’t know if I should stand around and wait or if I should just leave my luggage and go explore Marseille. After standing there I went over to an agent to ask what was going on and he told me my room was ready. I asked if room service was available and he said yes, until 10pm. I then went to my room, dropped off my luggage and went out to explore. I was hungry when I returned and went to the restaurant where they told me they were only serving snacks after 3pm so I sat down. But then a gentleman came over and told me they weren’t serving anything. I went to my room hoping to order room service but there was no menu in the room. I called the front desk and asked for a room service menu. They sent someone up with a breakfast menu! I had five of those already in my room! I called the front desk and asked them if room service was available. They just blindly transferred me to the restaurant. Then I was told that there was no cook. It had been a long day traveling and I did not want to go back out to look for food! But I did since no one was giving me any answers. The front desk has no idea what the hotel offers! Do they not know when room service is available?! Later on I called the restaurant to see if they would send food to the room, I was starving at this point. They said yes but that I had to go downstairs to order! I was working in my room, tired, in my pajamas. So I had to get dressed, go downstairs to look at a menu and order, go back to my room, and wait. Why can’t you just tell your guests that you don’t offer room service?! I always check when booking a hotel and was told you do! Finally got my order. The following day I looked at my receipt and had two charges. I don’t know what the second one is for. All I ordered was a cheeseburger. Will you please send me an itemized receipt. My email is cl… I want to know what exactly I paid for. I will not recommend your hotel. I’m a travel agency owner so I like to try out different hotel categories, I’ve normally had good service at this chain and always thought it was a good option for the 3/4 star client but this was awful. I was so upset I almost wrote a negative comment on TripAdvisor but decided not to. I do not like to shame hotel on such sites. I just hope this feedback helps in improving your guest services. This comes from an ex-hotelier. Hope to hear back from you. Thank you.

Totally charming staff in reception, bar and restaurant. 10/10 Room acceptable - clean & tidy, ticked all the boxes But these Artex walls which look like exterior walls are really not nice and it is time to change

« Excellenet hotel in a great location »

Marseille offers a spectrum of different situations. At one end it offers a mix of gritty, urban, decay, and at the opposite end of the spectrum, sophisticated French chic. This hotel is the chic side of this spectrum. The staff on reception were very professional and helpful. The room service team were excellent and made our visit feel very luxurious. The only area for improvement would be with regards to the harbour views. As customers it would be nice if bar drinks could be enjoyed in the restaurant area with views of the harbour. We were excluded from this zone as we were not eating. The restaurant was virtually empty at the time and so this seemed a little petty. This harbour view is the greatest asset of this hotel, it is a shame that customers are prevented from sitting here just to enjoy the view!!!

Hotel is nicely located. Has parking. Rooms are standard novotel. Restaurant is good. Wifi is quick and easy. You have diferent options for breakfast, which is convenient if you don't want the full buffet.

I really enjoyed the hotel it was great. The concierge/desk clerk who checked me in was excellent as well. That part of the experience was wonderful. I noticed too late, however, that I was charged for two breakfasts when I was the one in the room and o my stayed one night and ate breakfast once.
