The Novotel Hotel here in North York is very clean & comfortable. It has easy access to the Subway. Efficient check in and check out, with excellent customer service. But this hotel is VERY expensive, with poor dining hours at the hotels restaurants. The dining hours are too short and not very accommodating to guests. The "extra" features, like movie rentals(in your room costing $20.00) are absolutely ridiculous. I have NEVER paid $20 to rent a movie in my life. The most I paid was 5-8 dollars. This hotel charges $20. Thats gouching the customer. This hotel is great in every other respect, but the prices are way too high for the average guest.

Staff were friendly, room was small but clean, modern and comfortable. The room needs some drawers to unpack clothes into and a few extra hangers in the wardrobe. Breakfasts were good, dinner menu felt limited and I did not enjoy eating of a hotplate that was not big enough for my vegetables and steak. Bar staff were great.

Everything wa ok, despite the fact we were 4 people in the same room and the hotel forgot to includ towels for 4 people, instead the room was supply only for 2 people and we had to call during our stay the house keeping to bring towels for to more people and they unfortunately managed to bring only for 1 people instead for two more people

I was here for 19 nights. The room was clean and housekeeping service was awesome. Breakfast is the best, unlike anything i would expect from a hotel breakfast - very impressed. I only had two issues, I asked to switch from a double room to a single bed room and was told I would be called closer to the date they had a room available and no one called me to advise me. I did not call and ask as I was settled into the room I was in however staying 19 night having a little more space in the room to move around would have been nice. On my last night I woke up with unexplained itchy red bumps on my arms and stomach. I removed the sheets and checked the mattress for unwanted guests on the bed and did not find anything suspicious but found it unsettling to wake up with mysterious itchy bumps.

Great Location but some issues

Generally good, but had difficulty getting out of the parking lot because the ticket we received from the front desk didn't work, and the parking attendant refused to believe that we had paid. I kept asking him if he wanted to see our bill, but he kept insisting that we owed $26. He finally looked at the bill and let us through. This was totally unnecessary as it held us up, as well as the cars behind us. Room was large, as was bathroom, but there were long black hairs in the sink and in the shower.

Comfortable room. Good choice at breakfast (though disappointed menu changed during the week - my son missed his baked beans). Very much appreciated being invited to a guest reception on September 10, 2019 (coincided with our 25th wedding anniversary). Also enjoyed the video game 'table' in the lobby - taught my son Soduku.

- The thing that displeases me most about staying with you is the lack of adequate refrigeration. At the very least, most hotels have a bar fridge that functions. Instead, your fridges only have space for drinks and are not cold enough to maintain food at a safe temperature. This forces me to spend more money and purchase all of my meals, because I cannot even keep leftovers in my room. - The construction noise was difficult during my stay, but I know that is out of your control, and you properly notified guests with signage. However, when I went to leave the hotel one evening, my car was completely enclosed by fences and there was active construction going on. I was unable to access my car and it was filthy. When I notified staff at the front desk, they were not very helpful. A manager (I believe) offered to accompany me back down to see if he could speak to the construction crew, but I told him I already had. They allowed me to go to my car, but no one escorted me and I had to find my own way by squeezing through fencing while there was heavy machinery, tripping hazards, and dust everywhere (the crew was wearing masks and hearing protection, but I obviously was not). The staff at the front desk were apologetic, but that's it. I informed them that there was no signage that I could not park in that section when I checked in, and that I was checking out in the morning. The next morning, guess what? My car was still trapped, so it seems that no one from the hotel followed up with the crew to ensure that I would have access to exit (note that there were also a few other cars fenced in with me). As such, I found a section with caution tape instead of fencing, so I ripped through the tape so I could drive out. I understand that this was not completely in the hotel's control, but I could not believe when I received my bill that nothing was done--no compensation on my parking, no call to follow-up with me...nothing. That, in my mind, was the worst part about my recent stay because customer service is very important to me, and your hotel did not live up to that.

I had to request a sheet for the bed (top sheet) and I found out on Thursday the second last morning of my stay that my breakfast was included. I didn't find the pillows comfortable but otherwise everything was great, staff fantastic and the breakfast was good. Great convenient location! I'm booked for 3 more stays.

Construction in the parking garage resulted in incessant and irregular banging. I get that renovations need to be done, but I feel the cut off time should be much earlier. While 9pm may not seem late to some, I suffer from severe insomnia and have to get sleep whenever I can, and sometimes that's at 7pm. I feel that level and intensity of noise after 7pm is disrespectful to your guests.

Upon check in I was advised that breakfast was not included however this booking was for two rooms and the other room did receive breakfast. 4 nights into my 6 night stay I found out about this and inquired, the staff gave me breakfast for the 2 remaining nights however offered no compensation for the 4 nights where breakfast was not given. I asked to speak to a manager and no one called me. This is extremely disappointing service. Considering I am a travel agent, I The room itself was lovely and was quite happy on this level.

Good, although there was a communication breakdown between Reception and the Restaurant. I had booked Bed and Breakfast but on day two, this information had not got as far as the restaurant receptionist. After a short discussion between all parties the breakfast option was honoured free of charge.
