I have stayed at this hotel many times and this was the most disappointing stay. There was work being done on parking level 1 & 2, so I had to park on level 3. The issue is that the elevator was not in service so I had to hike many levels of stairs with a lot of luggage. Further, on the day I checked out it was the same issue. this time I had to take my luggage down numerous levels of concrete stairs, at one point I tripped and nearly fell. Not impressed with this.

No explanation of parking. Parked my car & got lost trying to find elevator and had to ask a security guard how to get back to hotel. I thought underground parking was for hotel only. When I returned to desk with parking ticket there was a sign saying I had to park in different level so I had to return to parking lot again. Hard to relax in sauna with music blaring. Cleaning staff & restaurant staff very friendly & helpful. Desk staff helpful other than person who checked me in.

« A comfortable stay :) »

I was at the Novotel for a two-day event, which started at 8:30am on a Saturday morning. The service at the Reception desk was quick, and the room was ready earlier than expected. This was great, since I was able to unload my luggage during one of the breaks. Each of the cleaning staff I bumped into were hard-working and very friendly... makes such a difference! The hotel is attached to a mall that has a food court (Second Cup, Booster Juice, Subway, Sbarro, a small cafe, as well as Japanese, Thai and Greek food options. This was a much appreciated convenience, especially with the cold weather. Mine was a short and comfortable stay at the Novotel! :)

Front desk staff are good. Room was OK. Bed was good. Reading light was broken with exposed wires. Shower faucet was ridiculously complicated and the tub drained poorly. I use the hotel because of the location. There are few options in North York.

« What a pleasant surprise! »

We had registered for a conference and Novotel was the recommended accommodation. We'd never heard of it before and so possibly would not have chosen it. What a pleasant surprise! The reception persons, both at time of booking and arrival were very courteous and helpful. New to this area of Toronto, we were given suggestions of places to dine and were thankful for the recommendations. The breakfast deal was amazing! I will definitely search out Novotel accommodations the next time I book.

Front desk staff were very good and accommodating. Our only feedback is to do with the room design. It's obviously been renovated, but the builder and interior designer clearly weren't communicating. In a room with 2 doubles, the furniture (chairs, tables etc) are simply too big for the space. Everything is crammed in and you cannot find a comfortable place to sit other than on the bed. Everywhere we turned we were bumping into something or trying to step around it. A simple fix would be smaller, narrower chairs, small tables etc. As for the fixtures... I'm sure they looked good in a picture but they are clearly cheap and the large lamp in the room is simply not very efficient with lampshade barely hanging on and always in the way. The bathrooms are a good size and were comfortable.

Parking was no so good due to construction and it was difficult to get back to hotel lobby. Room was nice but pillows were too hard. Hallway was busy and noisy so didn’t get a great sleep. I checked in late and left early so really didn’t spend much time there.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. My remote didn’t work and someone promptly came and replaced it. The room was a connecting room which I will be sure to ask to NOT receive again as no sounds were insulated; all pillows were the same thickness (too high) and i therefore could not sleep; the duvet itself needed to be cleaned as it smelt rank (the cover was clean tho); the bathroom sink had not been cleaned as there were hair shavings and what I was hoping was coffee that was splashed up the sides. These things I had never experienced on my previous stays.

The reception staff recognizes me and always welcomes me in an extremely friendly manner. Most notably Sue is always a delight, Sun is very accommodating and David a consummate gentleman. I must also Adam in the restaurant who went above and beyond to service my needs at breakfast, making helpful suggestions and engaging me in friendly conversation. Kudos to your staff.

I have mentioned 3 times (twice during my stay and the last time as I was leaving) to the front desk that the additional lock on the room door was partially missing. I left and it has not been fixed, although the persons at the front dutifully took note of the room number (606) and the issue. Otherwise, the stay was pleasant and the wait staff in the Trio restaurant was very helpful and polite.

Colours in room were depressing - yucky brown. We were told it was the recently revamped one. Couldn't figure out TV, and front desk got a bit snarky with us. TV sucked, with no directions on how to use it.
