Checking in was easy. I was impressed with the refurb of the restaurant , bar and entrance. I was excited as I imagined the rest of the hotel would have been the same. I worked at the hotel as a chambermaid around 25 years ago and realised that the decor/carpets in the rooms etc were still the same and looked tired and dated although the bathrooms looked good. I could tell the furniture had been updated. At 4pm the hallways were stilll cluttered with last nights room service drinks and trays. The housemaid was changing rooms and her trolley was blocking the way, rather than saying good afternoon and move it, she rolled her eyes and huffed that we were an inconvenience. At other hotels what has set them apart is their members of staff always politely greeting you with a smile regardless of who they are or where they are in the hotel.

Staying in the hotel was very nice staff helpful and friendly but when it came to check out I got a bill for the service I’ve never used and when I got back home had to phone the hotel and speak to the manager who was very helpful and did resolve the issue but it should have not happened in the first place.Apart from the small issue I was very happy with the stay at the hotel.

Only stayed for one night, quiet location. Room was a good size, toiletries were provided. Everything I expect from a hotel (and I stay in quite a few). Breakfast was good but please change the OJ to the real thing. Whatever the orange fluid was, it was definitely not orange juice.
