Very poor customer service and lack of communication.

Reception team have very little customer service, very bad first impression. Major lack of knowledge within food and beverage in the hotel. Restaurant was horrendous service, no welcome, not taken to seat, given menu and not explained about what was inclusive in the pre paid menu option. No first choice of starter with no apology or alternative, no service recovery at all. Bottle of wine ordered and asked for room number then no option was given for bill so assumed would be on the room bill on check out, bar staff member ran across lobby asking us to pay because no communication between team members, exactly embarrassing. Overall very disappointing stay in what is normal a very comfortable stay with Novotel.

Having looked into your comments, it appears to me that our teams version of your service in the restaurant is very different to that of your experience described. We like to think that all of our guests receive the service that Novotel Manchester West is proud to offer all of its guests and worked very hard to achieve. I am sorry that you were not happy with your service. We always want our guests to leave us with the very best impression of us and clearly we didn't achieve this.

Lobby seems nice and updated. Did not eat there. My room was very outdated and the carpet looked so dirty that I didn’t walk in there without socks on.

A very good one-night stay in a well appointed room, with good soundproofing and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast had plenty of choices and was excellent value.

Great hotel but a few niggles spoiled it from being perfect.

Firstly we were encouraged to check in online and we could go through a fast track queue. This doesn’t exist at the hotel so was pointless. We asked about what areas we could take our dog in and told not the bar only to find dogs in the bar later that evening. Whilst purchasing drinks at the bar, the bar manageress came over to the staff and said “has he paid?” They replied “yes” and she then said to me “ok, you can go”. Highly impolite and unprofessional. At breakfast we asked for Belgian waffles. After 3 reminders and a 30 minute wait we were told the chef had forgotten because he has a large buffet to prepare. Everything else was great, staff all really friendly, but these small niggles took the shine off it.

Really appreciated the courtesy and speed of check in and out. Rooms are comfortable and clean, great breakfast. I also appreciated the post-stay service as I forgot an item in my room that was then found and shipped back to me.

The hotel was situated very conveniently for me - but I have to say, not your fault, but the roadworks on the nearby motorway make finding you quite challenging

I stayed for 2 nights but didn’t make use of the restaurant or other facilities. The room was lovely, clean and spacious and the bed extremely comfortable. Also nice and quiet.

Friendly staff but room very dated no fridge no courtesy water bottles and a weird old fashioned bathroom and toilet setup!!

The stay and service was great but I was charged £380 that has still not been refunded and is causing me to have bank charges. I spoke to the hotel who cancelled a preauthorisation that I DID NOT ASK FOR but this transaction is still not refunded!
