I have stayed at this hotel many times in the past, but not in the last three years. There has obviously been some refurbishment carried out, which is good. However, the quality of the breakfast was a bit disappointing. Poor ingredients, not very well cooked and not presented well.

Not pleased at all. Had to order room service from reception because no one picked up the phone. I ordered from a man who was unkempt in his appearance and was doing up his jacket hurriedly as he served me. Didn’t feel like I was the priority. The food arrived and looked like plastic food from a child’s playset and tasted similar too. The carpets were dirty around the edges and the maid walked in whilst me and my girlfriend were in the throes of passion. Not a great stay.

Room 305 - smelt of smoke , fresh stain on the curtains , air con did not work , loud noise from the extractor fan in the bathroom & then at 4am the tv light up & the egg timer came on counting down & then there was a bright light flash came from the tv , this frightened my wife who was then unable to get back to sleep , with us leaving early at 08:30 am

« Reasonably good hotel »

Reception friendly. Had a room with a walk in shower that didn’t drain fast enough and flooded the floor. Reported to reception after breakfast the first morning, but it was still the same after 3 days when we left. The room given was a disabled access room, but little thought had been given to the emergency alarm pull chord in the bedroom. It was in the corner of the room next to the bed. Only a narrow gap between bed and wall so if anyone fell and needed attention they would not be able to reach the chord. Breakfast was entirely self service but kept stocked. The cooked food was kept warm but not dried out. Used plates, dishes etc, were cleared quickly. Room was noisy, doors banging, alarms clocks heard, loud voices in the corridor, dog continually barking on the last morning.

« Reception was cheerful and Check in was easy, room dated but clean. »

The last on reception gave a lovely warm welcome. Check was easy as was check out. Check out time was good being 12pm meant we didn't have to rush as a family. Room was clean but it is a little dated now and I think the carpet could do with a shampoo. I did leave a pair of earrings on the side table which did not get returned to me which is a shame as I am absolutely certain that I left them there. The room doors could be upgraded to be more sound proof and self closing. Bin needs to be larger in family room. Outdoor seating would have been nice.

The stay was once again very good. The only slight down side was only one coffee machine that caused cues at breakfast in the morning as the hotel was very busy.

« very good »

exellent staff who did what they could to make us want to extend our stay from 2 days to 6 as there were places to go in the area. The only downside was that there wasn't a fridge in the room which would have helped to keep things cool if the weather had been hotter, or a safe which meant that personal things could have been left safely in the room instead of being carried around, although I hasten to add we did not feel that security was an issue.Many would pick up on other things, but for us the right people in the right job is more important as they are the ones that leave a lasting impression, as companies need customers to feel that they would want to use them again.
