« Pleasent one night stay whilst attending a family wedding elsewhere »

Good location, met with family, was concerned about noise as a wedding reception was being held on that particular night but there was no noise problems. Pillows not the best and shower needed updating but I felt the stay was value for money.

Although rooms are slightly dated, with a separate bathroom and toilet and no electricity sockets near the bed, they are immaculately clean. Bed is comfortable, and there is very little outside noise coming into the room, even considering there was a wedding reception going on on the night of my stay.

Room was horrible, door was lying open into a room next door, no ventilation in toilet, carpets grubby, curtains dirty, bed hard, corridors with brown doors looked like a hostel. Breakfast had been lying out and eggs etc where hard. Customer service was good all round.

Checking in was easy. I was impressed with the refurb of the restaurant , bar and entrance. I was excited as I imagined the rest of the hotel would have been the same. I worked at the hotel as a chambermaid around 25 years ago and realised that the decor/carpets in the rooms etc were still the same and looked tired and dated although the bathrooms looked good. I could tell the furniture had been updated. At 4pm the hallways were stilll cluttered with last nights room service drinks and trays. The housemaid was changing rooms and her trolley was blocking the way, rather than saying good afternoon and move it, she rolled her eyes and huffed that we were an inconvenience. At other hotels what has set them apart is their members of staff always politely greeting you with a smile regardless of who they are or where they are in the hotel.
