Stayed at the hotel for business. Left the room early in the morning (with the air con off), and came back in the evening (around 8.30pm) to a freezing cold room. When I checked the temperature control on the wall it was showing the coldest setting. I never turn on the air con and always check that its off when leaving. Housekeeping must have turned on the air con full blast at the coldest temperature and left it all day. When I tried to switch off the temperature control on the wall would not change to heating. I called reception and asked if they had a storage heater or could come and have a look at my temperature controls - they said they would be right up. 20 minutes later I called again and they said they were still looking for a heater and would be right up. Another 20 minutes later a guy came to my room with no heater and looked at my temperature control unit. He confirmed that it was broken and not changing to warm air. He said he would bring an extra duvet as agreed that the room was very very cold. 25 mins past and still no duvet - I called reception again and the receptionist answered to say that the guy was making up a new duvet for me. 15 minutes later and still no duvet. At this point I'm angry - freezing and very angry! If they had told me I'd be waiting so long for a solution I would have had a long HOT shower to warm up instead of waiting by the door with 4 clothing layers on. I called reception again to tell them leave it as it was way too late to wait any longer and the phone rang and rang - all staff had disappeared. 10 minutes later some another person I hadn't seen before knocked on my door and gave me a duvet without saying a word. Terrible sleep and terrible service. This is my second time staying at the hotel. I travel to Paris regularly and have started attending exhibitions in the area. Temperature is an important attribute to a room and if it had been sorted quickly this wouldn't be so much of an issue. The level of customer service shown in one evening was abysmal.

Dear Mrs. W., I thank you for stating this occurrence so that we have the chance to properly explain this rather unfortunate incident. I myself was present during that evening and I think a proper apology and explanation are due. To be truly transparent with you we haven't got the choice to switch the air conditioning device between hot and cold air. This adjustment can only be done with interaction of our technician, and applies simultaneously to all of our rooms. The first best solution is indeed to provide a portable heating device, which wasn't available, so that the second best option is to propose an extra blanked, which we can quickly provide by giving you a ready one from a proper room, or by dressing one ourselves. We were fully booked that evening so that we had to prepare a spare blanked for you. Having only one person at the arrivals at that moment, made the task a little harder. The previous statement is in no way anexcuse for a ratter low quality service, nevertheless, we intend to be always transparent with our guests as we stand to our actions when we receive compliments, but also complaints. I would like to express my sincerest apologies in the name of everyone involved, if you allow me to express a true wish from us, we would feel flattered to welcome you a third time, providing us the opportunity to show our best services, and truly make you feel how much every single client means to us. We are sorry for the way you experienced your stay with us, we truly hope you consider visiting again, if by any chance you do so, please contact me directly so that we can prepare you stay in the best possible manner. This occurrence will be reported right away to our general manager, to immediately improve a possible weakness in our services. As always in Paris and other big and busy cities, hotel rooms are rather small and expensive, especially if there is a trade show or some other event going on. This was not an exception. What makes up for that, is a well functioning facility and most of all the professional, friendly, attentionate and helpful staff. Also, the hotel is a 10 minute walk from the Expo Porte de Versailles. Room: very good bed, nice size desk and good tv, phone, etc; a bit low on the cupboard space (specially if staying 5 nights like I did); good full length mirror. Get a room in the higher floors if possible. Some rooms have a view onto a charming school yard, which didn't disturb me, but may be a bit noisy. Bathroom: compact but very functional, good water pressure and nice shower space - though small! good space to put down tooth brush, creams, make-up, etc., magnifying mirror, hair dryer is the old style hotel kind; Very good breakfast and amazing staff: ask if you have special dietary requirements. The hotel staff speak a variety of languages and will go out of their way to help you; they helped with laundry, taxis and restaurant recommendations.

Upon arrival, our group of four were greeted warmly with full instructions on the room, breakfast times and keys. One of the two rooms did not have soap or shampoo but that was quickly delivered after a call to the front desk. Our beds were comfortable and the room air conditioned. The breakfast staff was also quite nice and the food selection was more than expected. Every interaction with the front desk was positive. However, the elevator was out of order the morning of our departure which was difficult with our heavy suitcases.

The hotel was pretty minimal, but the hotel was quiet, calm, and clean. The women working at the front desk were extremely kind and professional, but some of the men were somewhat rude. The female members of the staff were much more helpful than their male coworkers.

The breakfast was good, often felt like it has been laying there for a longer time, but this didn’t make it bad. The roomservice was very good and the staff very friendly. Overall there was nothing you could really complain about and we really enjoyed our stay there.

The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean, however two things definitely should be improved; 1. The food for breakfast wasn't fresh - the yougurt I had clearly hasn't been stored properly, fruits were a bit out of date 2. Bathroom door - there is clearly a gap between the doors. It is ok when it is only one person staying, however with two people....it becomes a bit embarrassing using bathroom facilities given everything can be seen and heard

Garage is rather narrow for large car (BMWX3). Price of garage not advertized upon reservation with Accor. Lobby and reception just OK. Overall would better fit for a IBIS. Same comment valid for the room: just OK, not the level expected for a Mercure. The room may deserve a small revamping.

I arrived at reception to find it empty, and had to wait 25 minutes knocking on doors - trying to find an employee. Pretty sure that the bed had bedbugs since I woke up with itchy bumps everywhere around my body. Breakfast was disapoointing.

Indeed this issue is upgrowing problem is many cities and to make sure our hotels are being completely safe for our guests, we do regular check-ups and even a yearly dog detection with an approved company. After your review, we have again specifically check the room you stayed in, and it was completely clear. Nevertheless, please email us more details of your redness because our guest safety is very important for us (h0…). Again, we apologize you had to wait at check-in, Michel our receptionist shifted on your arrival, was helping a disable person in his room and it took a little longer than it should have. Very average Breakfast very poor, over cooked eggs and ran out of other products at 9am!!! Dirty drinking glasses at breakfast. No one in reception at check out which is so unprofessional called and called and no one there. Normally mercure is very good but not this hotel I’m sorry to say! Will not stay here again.

Clean hotel, good location, small rooms but no reason to stay there based on status with Accor

On checking out, the receptionist said that we had not paid for our breakfast despite me having a confirmation email from my booking showing I had paid in full, including for breakfast. I showed him this email. He insisted we pay again because the hotel system did not show our payment. He raised his voice when talking to us about this and we had to ask twice before he called his manager. He eventually called his manager and resolved the technical problem on the hotel system. This was an unpleasant and embarrassing experience in front of other guests and it delayed us leaving the hotel and getting on with our day. Whilst, after resolving the problem he apologised and confirmed we didn't need to pay again, he said it was a problem with the system and not his fault. I can understand and sympathise with technical problems but he handled this very badly, making his problem with the system our problem by asking us to pay again when he could see we had already paid. Really poor service that ruined our morning.
