« Good value for money for a pre-flight day room »

We were coming off a cruise and had a late afternoon flight so we needed somewhere to stay for just a few hours. The Pullman was a great choice since it was close to the airport, with a free shuttle, and to a small strip mall where we were able to buy lunch.The front desk agents and porter were friendly and helpful and the room was very nice. It was a corner room overlooking the runways at the airport from one window and the lake from the other. The public areas of the hotel were very attractive and so too was the pool area which had plenty of loungers either in the sun or the shade depending on your wishes.The shuttle to the airport was punctual (it runs every 30 minutes on the hour and the half hour) and the driver was friendly and helpful.I would definitely consider using this hotel again.Please note that I have put "excellent" for "sleep quality" even though we did not spend the night because there is no "day room; n/a" option, but the bed was comfortable so I expect it would have been excellent if we had stayed overnight.

A good choice as a post-cruise, pre-flight day room. The corner room allocated had a great view over the airport runways on one side and the lake on the other. Check-in staff and porter were friendly and helpful. The courtesy bus to the airport was punctual and the driver was friendly and helpful too. We would definitely consider doing this again.

The online booking was confusing. The website requested a credit card to charge for the room. When I arrived to the hotel, the person at the front desk said she couldn’t find my payment but she found my name. After checking in, I requested information about an event I was attending at the ballroom at the hotel. (Fight Sports Gala 2018 on December 2nd at 8pm). The employee at the front desk wasn’t aware of the event. She also asked other employees, including the manager on the floor but couldn’t get any information. She asked me if I was at the right location. I was skeptical and decided to call the people organizing the event. I realized I was at the right place. Once, I came to the room my nose started to bother me but wasn’t sure why. After a while of being in ten room, I noticed the room was dusty around the night stands and under the lazy couch, I saw crums that the housekeeper forgot to clean.

Restaurant on site is pricey. For a group of 12 we could have taken taxis to somewhere else a lot cheaper and better food. Had to dispute excess charges which were refunded.

Everything was excellent after checking in. However, There was no bellman at the door and we had to look for a cart and carry our own luggage. Bellman told us he had to drive the bus. The Front Desk Clerk could not find the reservations, At check out I advised the front desk that my CC was charged the wrong amount.

The elevator got stuck on us on the 4th floor - so we had to walk up to floor 15 by stairs with our packages,etc. The water in the shower was not hot - only warm. The closet safe was broken, so they sent up a repairman, who had to replace it. Maintenance came knocking on the door at 10 am,(when we had a 3 pm check out), said he was there to check the lights. The room next to us, played very loud music from 5-9, but since it was not late, we did not complain. We just found the communication with the hotel workers could have been better. But Winnie, was really great and made up with a few comps for us.

« Maintenance Severly Lacking »

My original floor (12th) had temperature around 50 with no way to warm it up. After multiple calls to fix, they told me there was no way to warm the room and brought me a space heater and blanket. Space heaters in a multi-story hotel is nothing but a fire hazard; I asked to be moved to a different floor. When I got to my room on the 2nd floor, the temperature was comfortable, but the TV didn't work and the tub didn't drain. My short shower had me up to within 3 inches of overflowing the tub. When I checked out, the printer didn't work, so I couldn't get a copy of my room bill. The only positive was, the rooms were clean.

(1) Airport shuttle good, but time not consistent; (2) Hotel appearance good, (3) Check-in fairly pleasant and quick enough, (4) Room - pleasant and clean, (5) Ice machines broke on floor and floor below, (6) In-room coffee adequate, but bring your own sweetener and cream, (7) Room service ordering pleasant and fairly quick, but of an average value (expect delivery charge and added tips), (8) TV adequate, but expect channels with no sound and varying volume, and finally (9) the hotel fitness center was very nice.

Our housekeeper was very kind and helpful, answering our questions patiently and cleaning the room very promptly. Front desk personnel were also quite able and knowledgeable about Miami. I enjoyed working out in the little gymnasium, which is a bit better than what we have usually found at other hotels. One revealing detail is that Pullman offered fresh apples in the gym. I gobbled one up and it was delicious! The elevators were quick, and that was good because we were all the way up on 12th.

« Great for a short stay. »

I stayed just for a night and everything was great. I did not have a chance to visit the pool or try breakfast though. Parking was very busy that day and I had to park quite far from the entrance (should have used valet instead). It is also very close to Miami airport. You can actually see the runway from the window - great for plane spotting :)

Check in was easy although fro a platinum Member the room was not ready. Rooms are comfortable. Rate included Breakfast. Was told at the restaurant could only have buffet. The then next guest arrived and was told that they could order from the menu or the buffet. We could not tell the difference. All in all a good experience.
