« I've stayed at 2 star Ibis hotels that are way cleaner! »

NOTE FOR THE MANAGER: your cleaning staff does NOT use the vacuum cleaner on 4th floor. Or the vacuum cleaner is not working. The room they gave us was not clean at all on the carpet. There were a lot of cloth, dirt and even 2 contact lenses on the carpet. There was also an instant coffee used packing that was not removed nor replaced. We instantly asked for another room at the front desk that they were kind to offer. Only to find worse: the carpet was identically not cleaned, there was no water in the mini-fridge as in the previous room and there was no remote control for TV at all! After some time a lady came and literally got the remote from the previous room. Since there were no slippers provided, as in other decent 4* hotels, we decided to keep our shoes on even if we went to the bathroom... The bathroom was decently clean, although everything was at least 15 years old, the sink was filled with water and rusted, the blocking device was not working and I had to remove it at all. The shower gel bottle by the bath tub was empty the whole stay. We had a small shower gel recipient but was not replaced the next day, after we have used it. The next day nobody vacuumed the carpet again, as we had observed a rubber band that was there previous to our arrival and still was on the floor after the so called cleaning was performed. SECOND NOTE TO MANAGER: pay the cleaning staff better or replace it with ones that actually clean! All in one it was a negative experience, I do not recommend this hotel and I would have rather stayed at a CLEANER Ibis budget than this.

All fine and in accordance to expectations of a typical airport hotel with the usual high traffic of people going in and out the hotel; the front office deserves extra credit for being efficient in the processing of both check in and check out, and with lots of smiles; like that very much !

I had an early morning flight out of Zurich and stayed one night at the hotel. Close to the airport. Tram service was easy to use. Hotel is conveniently located near the airport!

We had previously stayed at the Ibis Messe Zurich Airport hotel and decided to give the Novotel a try this time on our one night stopover. Our first impression was rather negative as the scheduled shuttle for 0910am never showed up (we were standing waiting from 0900); after calling the hotel about 0925am to find out where the shuttle was, and being told the next one was on its way, we were not very impressed (we had just flown in from Australia and were cold and tired). On a positive note, I had requested an early check in which was honoured and so we were able to go straight to our room at 1000am (after being told at check in that the electricity would be off for 30 minutes within 5 minutes of our arrival!). Our impression of the hotel as we went up the lift (small lifts but there are three of them so little to no wait), was that the hotel was a little tired and shopworn - this was reinforced as we walked the corridor to our room. The room was spacious and clean, but again, tired (lots of marks on the walls, and tired/worn carpet). The bed was very comfortable with clean, crisp bedding. The bathroom was spacious but the shower leaked like a sieve all over the bathroom floor in spite of the glass shower screen. We are not 'messy' shower people but no matter what we did, the water ended up on the floor - we needed to use both hand towels as well as the bath mat to keep the floor dry. The hotel is conveniently located at a two minute walk to the nearest tram stop (Lindbergh Platz) which takes you either to the airport (in one direction) or into the city (the other direction). The lady at check in was most helpful regarding tickets for the tram (you can buy them from the reception desk), but as we had Swiss passes, we were able to buy half price tickets from the machine at the tram stop - very easy. It takes about 25 minutes to reach the Zurich train station downtown from where you can walk all over the city. We did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food. Other than the convenience of the location and the slightly larger room, I would probably choose the Ibis Messe (newer, cleaner) next time for an overnight stay, as it was less expensive and newer and cleaner.

Always a great place to stay for business in Zurich, the staff are always friendly and efficient, and the location (for me) is perfect. Nice to see some innovation in the kitchen with a full Indian menu on offer as well as their normal Swiss cuisine. I did hear one Indian couple complain that it was not authentic Indian cuisine, but having spent time in India myself I know European cuisine is "Indianised" there, and this is "westernised" Indian cooking that my Indian wife would find perfectly palatable.

Although reserving a room for a family (2 adults and 2 kids), second bed was not ready by arrival. Although front desk was quick in solving it, need to consider we checked in by 11:45pm. There is a shuttle to/from airport but just leg airport-hotel is free; for hotel to airport it is necessary to pay CHF 4, which is not much but could be free as well

I did not enjoy my stay at the Hotel. I am a Accor Platinum customer and was extremely disappointed with my stay. I was not given any special privileges being a platinum member, and the staff at check-in did not even make a mention of the same, moreover she looked dis-interested while attending to us and was not at all courteous I stayed at Zurich for only 1 night during my Euro Trip and choose Novotel as i love the chain an the service it offers but was utterly disappointed on many counts. The room was outdated and we were not even offered an upgrade. There was no air conditioning and when i called the reception that the room is really warm a cold response from the other side said "that we dont have A/c so thats how it is" Moreover I choose Novotel and paid a premium as it was my wedding anniversary, but nothing special was done apart from sending some chocolates in the room and that too presentation was not good. I regularly stay at Fairmont in makati and enjoy how they treat me, and was expecting something similar as Accor should have the same service standards globally to treat their Platinum customers but this hotel & staff was a complete failure. I was only offered a complimentary drinks voucher to have a drink from the bar at lobby, but thats it nothing else was offered to me nothing, I was not even attended to politely I also used my points to knock off Euro 40 from my booking, but i feel it was a waste. I fond the Swiss people to be really friendly but the hotel staff was not at all friendly and would answer to the point. What pisses me more is that if they treat a Platinum member this was, then how will they treat a regular member Also in 2 instances the house keeping staff entered the room when DND sign was on. Once when we were not in the room the staff entered the room to leave chocolates (i like the gesture but you do no enter is there is a DND sign) and the second time my wife was in the washroom the housekeeping staff entered again when there was a DND sign outside so my wife had to shout to say that she is in the room this is unacceptable and i am really angry with the hotel and the staff for ruining our experience of staying with you considering it was our wedding anniversary on 25th Oct I look forward to hear from you and expect a service recovery here Best, Kunal

Friendly and thoughtful staff, quiet yet close to the airport, free parking, excellent room service. Although a major convention was held that weekend, the receptionist arranged for a delicious room service meal as the restaurant and bar werde filled to the rim.

Faultless stay, excellent transport connection to airport and into city centre. I was particularly impressed by the Indian food menu (I am vegetarian) and the high quality of the dishes I received. Compliments to the chef! I also enjoyed the sauna, a perfect relaxation after a business trip.

Was surprisingly good, as I didn’t expect getting Indian food at the hotel. I was coming from a very long trip culminating it in Zurich hence was missing Indian food a lot and I was happy to find tasty Indian cuisine served here!

« Free Shuttle is not Free »

The room was fine. The price was fair. The food was overpriced. The thing I found disappointing was that everywhere online you advertise your free shuttle but I guess somewhere in your fine print it must say only from the airport and not to the airport. We found this out while sitting on the shuttle waiting to leave for the airport. Please don’t be deceptive and make it clear and in large writing that it’s only free one way. I would have stayed elsewhere that had a lower price and more frequent shuttles had I known this.
