The hotel is in the center of Ghent and so everything is very close. The staff at the reception is very friendly and gives correct information. In the room you have everything you need. Even the cleaning staff is friendly when we checkd out and whised us a great weekend. Breakfast is lovely and a lot of things to choose from.

Room smelt a bit funny like damp or something. Bar/Restaurant was very disappointing with only one or two items on the menu available each day for the entire stay. Service in the bar/restaurant was also poor when there was only one member of staff working as they were too busy to provide prompt service.

Great hotel, in a great location right in the centre easily accessed by public transport. Majority of staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast has plenty of choice and definitely worth paying for. We had a room for 3 people but was only set up for 2 and the remote control for the TV was missing but housekeeping replaced once asked for.

I had booked via our Company link of GE. Two things were very dissatisfying. - I booked 2 night. The room I got had a broken heating. I arrived at 18.00 in the evening and asked 1 hour later to get it repaired, that was not possible, so I asked for a different room, but the whole hotel was booked out. It was 05-02-2018 till 07-02-2018. To my big luck it whas freezing that night -10 degrees Celcius, So I had to sleep with gym trousers and a sweater. It was freezing cold. Due to that I have a cold right now, and am on sick leave. - The second surprise was when checking out. Breakfast did not seem to be included in the price I booked the hotel for, so an extra cost of 20 euro per night. Seeing the former night having trouble with the room and heating and making this clear to the staff, I had at least expected an upgraded room for the second night or a free breakfast or something in compensation, non was offered. So in my opinion your service was very, very poor. I am traveling at least 3-4 times a year to Budapest. I tried this hotel because it was on offer on our company travel link. Next time I think I will pass.

Heater did not heat enough (for us). Shower drain did not drain properly, so we had to turn off the water every 2 minutes to avoid flooding the room. This hotel could not be better located. Clean and great staff

« Not as good as other Novotels we have stayed in. »

Fantastic location and we usually like staying at Novotels when travelling with kids. Kids had the sofa bed and, while we liked the fact that there are two seperate beds in the one sofa, there was a very definite tilt on the beds from top to bottom which was not comfortable for them. I was glad we were only staying one night. Lovely gentleman on reception but despite being a very busy weekend there was mostly only one person at reception. As always, the kids loved the games at reception. I bought two soft drinks at the reception kiosk for the kids and paid 3.50 euros each, too expensive. Restaurant was very small and service poor. Breakfast was great.

We were impressed with the consistently high standard of service - room, reception staff, breakfast etc - we received during our two-night stay. We would stay here again. I asked in advance (as I usually do) for a quiet room on an upper floor. That is what I got. We also got a complementary bottle of water. Hotel is within four or five minutes' easy walking distance of the central attractions (cathedral etc) and main tram stops. Easily Four star (even though it is officially credited with three).

Very good reception staff, comfortable rooms and clean bathroom. We regret the restaurant offers a limited choice of dishes and so we decided not to have dinner there. parking facilities is a plus but should be less expensive for guests (30 euros!). The bath tub is not very suitable for 65+ (too deep).

I found the hotel staff friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable and the breakfast of excellent quality. As I was attending a meeting about improving the marine environment it was good to see a strong environmental policy in place. The only small criticism was that the bed was too firm for my complete comfort.
