When checking out of the hotel, the hotel's credit card machine was apparently down. It took my colleague about an hour to check out. Despite the fact that his room was already paid for. After 30 minutes of attempting to use my credit card -- I left the hotel with my credit card with the understanding they would charge me for my stay when their machine started working again. To my surprise, I looked just now at my credit card bill and note that you OVERCHARGED me by 60.23 Euro. I reserved on the Accor site (which by the way was apparently not the lowest available price as advertised; my colleague who reserved via a travel agent actually paid less) for 338.70 Euro. You charged me 398.93 Euro. This is unacceptable. And I'm about to file a complaint with my credit card company - blocking this payment. We almost missed our flight because of this fiasco. I've stayed with you several times in Douala in the past; I also recommended 3 other colleagues stay in this hotel this time; due to our checkout experience, they were not pleased. Despite being a very short stay, I appreciated the friendly environment from the security guards to the hotel staff. Diner and breakfast were good, Just missed the Wednesday event making the whole place more lively and slight disappointment regarding my late pick up time from the airport as a result of miscommunication. « A very good Ibis with a hotel restaurant above the norm »

In terms of the hotel room itself, Ibis Douala is pretty standard - clean, so-so room size but acceptable value for money. The hotel does perform well above the norm for Ibis Hotels in certain areas - staff are friendly and helpful but I would especially like to complement the kitchen staff. Breakfast is good, but the restaurant offerings for lunch and dinner are exceptional for a hotel of this standard and very fairly priced. My one slight gripe would be over the quality of the internet, though I don't believe that this is unique to the Ibis Hotel in Douala - good internet connections are few and far between.

The room was too cold. You could not turn off the air condition completely. The safe was not working and nobody was sent to repair it even though I asked at the reception. The internet is really bad. I cannot recommend to any businessmen to go there since you could not even download your emails properly. The room was clean and the food was good.

I had to wait for almost 45 minutes for the shuttle bus to come to the airport for pickup. At the check in counter, I had to ask for a room on the 8th floor in lieu of the one on the 2nd floor that I was issued by the receptionist.

« One of the worst experiences »

At my reception was this rude old man who will not listen to me apparently because he thinks he is older. My only request was for him to confirm if the Air conditioning in my room gas ok. My previous stay was without Aircondioning issues and I had to change the room as a result. I therefore wanted to be sure I can have a better experience this time around. But he will not have non of that asking me to confirm myself and get back to him in a rather rude tone. It was the case that the A.C. will not work after a while and my tv will not come on because of used batteries. Rooms we smelling apparently from the closet and worst of it all is when I had to carry my luggage through the rainy morning on my checkout to the bus. I felt a Gold member deserves a little more???

A pesar de realizar el check-in en la web, hubo que dar los datos otra vez, ademas la habitacion que nos dieron estaba sucia, por 120€ la noche es indignante Despite doing the check-in on the web, we had to give the data again, in addition the room they gave us was dirty, for € 120 a night is outrageous.
