« Disappointing to discover that the restaurant was closed for meals after a long journey »

We have stayed at the Ibis Anglet for many years when travelling, and have appreciated the improvements made over the years. However, we were disappointed to find that the CourtePaille restaurant has been replaced with Ibis Kitchen, which, on a Saturday evening, was only offering snacks. It was suggested that we try the Novotel restaurant which was expensive [by CourtePaille standards] and inferior. For this reason, we would choose another hotel in future

Indeed our new restaurant is opened from Monday to Friday, and like in all Ibis Hotels we have a snacks offering 24h/24, with starters, main courses and desserts. We are sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. For information, in July and August the restaurant will be opened from Tuesday to Saturday, we would be glad to see you again. I stayed one night in order to catch an early flight out. The reception and staff were very friendly. The restaurant was good food and service. The room was comfortable.

« No air-conditioning in May »

Nice staff and they managed to find a ground floor room for us as I was in a wheelchair. This hotel advertises it has air-conditioning, one of the reasons we booked it. When queried why our room was hot and the air-conditioning did not work we were informed it was not put on till June. We stayed in May and it can be very hot in May -especially in rooms facing the sun!! Compromise was to give us a key for the locked window - hardly secure but it did cool the room down a bit.

« A very nice overnight stay. Could have been even better if the restaurant had been open »

The accommodation is good for the price but, I specifically asked if the restaurant would be open when I booked and I was assured that it would be. When we arrived we were then told that it wasn't and we had to eat next door. As it turned out that was fine but, it would have been better to have been told the truth in the first place. The reason I mention this is that we particularly liked the in house bar/restaurant on a previous visit.

We usually use this hotel on our way south and find it welcoming, comfortable and clean. It's also easy to find from the A63, take junction 4 as it goes right past the door! Although, currently, no restaurant - breakfasts are catered for - you can dine at the Novotel next door with 10% discount for the hassle.

« Disappointing food »

After driving for 11 hours all I needed was something to eat and a bed, so I wasn't in need of much. I appreciate very much that there was an agreement between the Ibis and the Novotel where we received a 10% discount in the restaurant, that was a nice gesture. However my partner's dish was not the standard I expect. The dish was monkfish with risotto, but tasted nothing like it. The monkfish was just above room temperature when served, and had almost no flavour. The risotto was awful, with a terrible texture that was partly lumpy, partly mush, and zero flavour. It looked like it should be used to plaster walls. Normally I never have any bad experience with Accor hotels and I'm happy to be a member of the loyalty program, I appreciate all the benefits, but I'm afraid this was one time that we were let down. We are currently spending two weeks travelling and will spend all of it in Accor hotels, I hope this will be the only poor experience we have.

We were excited to stay at another Accor property on our family trip. This was the third location in a week. My father was exiting the shower when he fell and hit the the toilet. The showers in both rooms was very slippery with no provided protection. When he fell he injured his arm and back ( he is 77 years old). The toilet seat was damaged and we informed the on duty manager. The manager wasn’t concerned at all. Two hours later the toilet seat was still broken.this required my mother and father to use our other family room. The general condition of this hotel reflects a similar lack of care as well. I would not recommend this location.

Previous 2 nights were also spent in IBIS hotels but they were far superior. This hotel is run down in need to modernisation and the restaurant has closed permanently. We ate in the Novotel next door which lacked any atmosphere and offered a very limited menu.

« A wet day in Biarritz »

Nice hotel for our overnight stop, the receptionist running a one woman show for the Whole Ibis that evening was superb, the restaurant was closed but we had our welcome drink, some Ibis seem to have a problem giving 2 welcome drinks especially around Tours but not here. Ibis don't seem to have a solid rule about what happens in some cases like this which they should sort out to avoid all this confusion. The egg boiler didn't work properly in the morning so after 3 failed attempts we gave up but still had a good breakfast, overhaul we like it and would stay again.
