« Ok but blocked smelly sink »

A very tired room and with a bath not a shower with a horrible clammy shower curtain. Bathroom was held together with silicon and well overdue a refit. Bathroom sink was blocked on arrival and was smelly. The whole room had an unpleasant musty smell. Probably the worst Ibis room that I've ever stayed in.But fair play the sink was unblocked the next day.

When I got to the room I put on the heating expecting it to warm up, after almost 2 hours the room was still cold I checked the heating and it was blowing out cold air. I called reception and they sent up an engineer who told me because it’s the outer wall the heating does not work the way it should do and brought up a mobile heater he also said all the rooms are eventually going to get an upgrade and this room has always been an issue with heating. I left the room for almost 3 hours with the mobile heater on came back and it was still cold in the room. At this point I called reception and they moved my room. Why was I not told the room was cold as clearly the staff were aware that this particular room is a cold room especially when the temperature were very low outside, but they still moved Into that room without saying anything. I am extremely dissatisfied with the level of service because instead of moving me straight away they sent the engineer up with a heater Knowing the temperature was very cold at this time of the year.

Was very pleasantly surprised. I loved the modern feel to the reception and bar area and the touches with the books on the shelves. Thought bar prices were also quite good given the location. The bathroom was excellent. The main part of room was reasonable but you really could wow visitors with just a little updating and making look modern (to be more in line with lobby) with interesting curtains and some interesting pictures and maybe just make the table surfaces a little less bland.
