« A pleasant experience »

It was a good experience - the rooms were clean and comfortable; the staff were helpful and quite responsive. There was some delay in getting our welcome pack for the executive room and a couple of times the minibar was not replenished on time. However, the breakfast was really good and our stay was generally quite enjoyable. A good hotel.

« Disappointed and overrated 4 stars hotel. »

Ceiling of the bathroom fel on the head of my son. Not a hardboard plate, but one of steel. When we called the reception, they told us that the maintenance would come. Quite a weak reaction when my kid had two bumps on his head. What if it was not a 15 year old but a younger kid that had to catch this plate on his head, they were lucky in this case. But this shouldn’t happen at all. We received another family room with a sleeping couch, that should able to fit two 15 year olds. We can assure Novotel that 1.20 m is not wide enough. The sleeping couch was to hard, with instead of a matras a topper. What happend that we had to sleep with three persons in the two single beds. By receiving another room we no longer had the double bed but got now two single beds. Short: we hardly slept!

« Good standard, great team of staff, needs a good clean though. »

Great, staff v helpful in directing us to local transport. Restaurant and breakfast also c good. Particularly impressed with breakfast range. Pool also good and family friendly areas help with kids. Just needs a good clean and maybe refresh in corridors particularly dirty round the pool area/steps. Also one tiny bottle of water for two adults and two children a bit poor. And to be told by receptionist “well just go buy some” wasn’t exactly what wanted to hear. Water from bar 4 euros a bottle. No shops local after dark.

We needed one night's stay before flying out of Portugal. I had stayed here before for business and this time was travelling with my family of four. The desk staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing seemed to be a problem for them. We were pleasantly surprised by the pool and the Sunday activities which our kids took part in. After all our travelling, it was just nice to relax by the pool and get a bite to eat. The room was pleasant enough as well. We left early in the morning well rested and would stay here again.

Every year for the past few years we spend a few days at Novotel Lisboa at the end of our beach holidays. A very convenient location to reach the center of a busy city with a comfortable bar/restaurante lounge to retire comfortably in the evening with the family. The restaurant menu and the restaurant staff in the evening are a very pleasant surprise. The front desk staff has difficulties in smiling or doing an extra effort.

Hotel with almost full occupancy (I presume) could not deliver the same hospitality and services received from previous stays in the same hotel. So, if you want to stay there for business purposes avoid the high season.
