Stay at this hotel as we have a dog as she is made welcome. We had a meal restaurant, the steak was not edible. We left our meal and no one asked why. When checking out we were not asked if we enjoyed out stay, if I had I would of mentioned the meal.

We stopped here on route to Spain. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was what we expected from a mid range hotel. The bed was very comfortable but we didn't really appreciate how poor the soundproofing was until early morning. We had a bus party on our wing who clearly had a need to be on the road early. Between doors banging, toilets flushing, water running and a dog barking it was 1st up all up. Not conducive to a good night's sleep.

The hotel has all the facilities required by travellers including ample car parking. The staff are welcoming and patient, dealing courteously with any customers' issues. The accommodation is modern and comfortable and the charges are reasonable. TV and Wifi are also provided and breakfast is available at extra cost, reasonably priced and plenty of choice.

A convenient overnight stop on the long drive back to the UK from Portugal, the Ibis at Saintes is just off the motorway (about 2-3 minutes) but is actually right beside the main road (although when inside there is no traffic noise) To be honest, the hotel itself looks a little tired and dated, and I suspect is due a little refurbishment in the near future. - that said the bed / sleep quality is as you would expect from an Ibis. One highlight is the quality of food in the restaurant, which definitely punches above its weight.

With several commitments in the area over a number of days, the Ibis at Saintes proved to be an excellent choice. Comfortable, friendly and with food always available, there are nevertheless plenty of local alternatives for a lunch or dinner. The plentiful free onsite parking is a bonus.

All good except breakfast

As expected from Ibis except for the very poor breakfast experience. First, there were no trays, no plates, no cheese and the coffee machine was not working because it had not been emptied. It took far to long to correct these things. But worse was the hygiene. The guy working on breakfast has a cloth and a spray bottle. He sprayed tables and wiped them. Then he sprayed the fromt of the buffet area and wiped it. Then he wiped plated with the same cloth and put them back on the buffet. Yuk! The. Then he put the cloth down and arranged the bread, touching it all with his bare hands. One of the worst run Ibis breakfast rooms I have seen.

Up to the standard we have come to expect from your team at Saintes. Welcomed warmly by name when we arrived and looked after very well as usual. Room well air conditioned as the weather was extremely hot. Restaurant had several new dishes this year, all up to the usual standard.
