We were taken by taxi to the Novotel Confluence and it was determined there that we were at the wrong Novotel and another taxi was called. That driver dropped us off with our luggage at le Musee at the confluence leading to more confusion. We were on the wrong side of the river and then took a tram, luggage and all across the river and walked to this particular Novotel. Once there we dragged our luggage up the long steep ramp to your entrance. This bad experience could have been avoided by Novotel staff being more oriented to customer needs. The registration staff at first Novotel should have coordinated our situation with the second hotel. In addition, two hotels in close proximity with similar names will undoubtedly lead to confusion. I’m certain that other travelers have been inconvenienced by this.

Dear Madam, Dear Sir, As asked, I take time to share with you my experience within your walls. I had diner at the hotel. Seated at 20:05, leaving at 21:35, can be checked on camera. 1h30 for a small entry, main course with missing vegetables, and dessert that I ended to eat in my room. Restaurant staff wouldn't take my order if I hadn't called him, time lapse between courses is just insane. On top of that, check-out experience was also disastrous. I requested a taxi from my room before checkout, the request was not recorded, so obviously the taxi didn't come. Almost miss my train, had to deal with stress and rush. On top of that, reception staff clearly not concerned by customer satisfaction. I am a regular client of Novotel and Mercure hotel, with Gold membership and soon becoming platinum. I use to enjoy my business travels within this hotel chain cause of the efficiency that, as business man, helps to feel cocooning. But for once, the experience was terrible and have no desire to come back. I hope this feedback to be understood for improvement and not as a simple complaint to be withdrawn. Best regards, M. B.

The personnel was friendly and helpful. Since we only know a few words in French, we were delighted that most of the staff could also speak English. There often weren't any spoons at breakfast, which made it difficult having cereal. We sometimes had to ask personnel for spoons, or be without. Other than that, breakfast was good. The toilet room should have a sink for washing hands. It's inconvenient having to cross to the bathroom to clean hands. We understand it may be difficult to rebuild though. There were a few things we weren't happy about regarding the cleaning of the room. The room got clean alright, but: * The cleaner came one morning around 9 while we were still sleeping. The information papers said that cleaning should come in the evening, so we think that at least the English information papers may be outdated. * The cleaner replaced our towels every time even though we hadn't put them in the shower or bathtub, as the instructions said we should do if we want them replaced. This also meant that our paid-for pool towels were taken, although it wasn't a problem this time since it was taken the second-last day, and we didn't swim the last morning.

Hotel was great with kids. The kids really had a great time and enjoyed the arcade gaming station and babyfoot. They have a small pool but we didn't get to enjoy it because of the rain. Breakfast buffet was great with a lot of options. the kids loved the freshly made crepes. The dinner buffet however was disappointing and expensive. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a suite on the executive floor and it was very nice and cosy. Hotel is located just outside of the city center and a ride by cab cost about 7 euros. I recommend.

The hotel is only a few minutes away from the highway and had a parking garage, which made it ideal for us with a car full of personal belongings. The swimming pool was cold, during our stay the weather was fine for our children to go and have a splash. We also discovered the city of Lyon. Passing over the bridge and there you can go by bus or tram into the heart of the city. We recommend going for a walk in the old town, got some great restaurants in small alleys there. The room we had was fine, airco and nice shower. The beds were not that comfortable and very warm. The breakfast was great. Good service and nicer people.

As two adults and two children , found room was very small when sofa bed was out. pool area was nice not many sunbeds and some of the tiles around the edge of the pool were loose. Breakfast and dinner buffets were good plenty of options . As Vegetarians the opton at dinner was very nice.

Stayed here as a family of four - myself, my husband and two teenage boys. Wasn’t sure what to expect but we certainly weren’t disappointed. The room was lovely, clean and spacious - it was a suite on the second floor. There were lots of little useful extras in the room including a stocked mini bar (complimentary soft drinks and nuts), a jar of sweets as well as the usual toiletries plus some extras eg shaving kits. The staff were very friendly and the bar attendant even went searching for a local channel showing the Community Shield game which certainly pleased my eldest son. He also recommended a rather nice local rosè wine which didn’t disappoint. There are plenty of things to keep younger and older children entertained including a small swimming pool, fuse-ball and an arcade game. There was a good selection of food available at the dinner buffet and breakfast. Overall, the hotel was extremely clean and well maintained as well as being ‘pretty to look at’ inside. We didn’t venture out so can’t comment on the location in relation to the City Centre. We would most definitely visit again if coming to this area.
