It is so good to have a consistent form of welcome in any touristic organisation and the Ibis at St Malo was no exception to the services offered the traveller by its hotels in France. Good hotel, missing it's previous restaurant, building work still ongoing for several months. It's best for parking and location close to St Malo access roads.

The hotel was perfect for our requirement, which was to be close to the St Malo ferry port for a 10.00 ferry departure. The room was very clean and comfortable and very adequate in size. The hotel is located in the corner of 'La Madeleine' commercial centre, close to a large supermarket.

Friendly staff, small but comfortable rooms and bed . Its good to have a tea tray in the room. Breakfasts were generally excellent apart from the hotplate on which to cook fried eggs , one of mine disappeared under the hotplate. Other Ibis hotels have a device for boiling eggs , much more satisfactory. A chain restaurant next to the hotel was useful.

Very friendly staff, comfortable and quiet rooms, which were very clean. Good WiFi connection. Nice bar area with outside sitting area. A nice touch was a welcome drink for each room. It would have been even better if each person in the room had a welcome drink, but still a nice touch nonetheless. I have stayed here before so had little hesitation in staying here again.

This hotel is adjacent to the main route out of St Malo ferry port; there is lots of traffic but the double glazing cuts out most of it. Breakfast was fine, could fry your own eggs which was unusual but all the usual variety of foods. No restaurant but the Buffelo Grill is adjacent, which provides reasonable tasty grilled foods. Only gripe - not English language TV, perhaps out set was not tuned but limited satellite channels.

Enjoyed the refurbished room and the bed was really comfortable. We thought the range of UK Freeview TV was a big improvement on last year, but more choices that don't work are a big disappointment. Finally, the choice of breakfast cereal was cocopops or cocopops! Not good, particularly for my diabetic partner.

Ok as normal.no food available despite menus in room and bar advertising 24/7 food. Seemed to have some private function .not good enough.

The main entrance was closed by workmen. For the first time in 10 years I was asked to pay in full on arrival, rather than on departure. The choice at breakfast reduces each time I stay at this hotel.

Check in was poor. The receptionist was playing a game in the corridor when we arrived with other members of the team. Check in very quick, no information given to us as she obviously wanted to get back to the game. The rooms were supposed to have been recently refurbished. Ours hadn’t, holes in the curtains, uncomfortable bed, odd mattress, bathroom poor with paint chipping off the door. Breakfast was poor only cereal available was Cocopops. Hardly any bread, no toaster. Problem was a coach party was there, I feel they should have a separate room for their breakfast. Guests were handling food, not using the tongs provided and holding the bread and cutting it. I hardly had anything to eat, waste of money. Not sure when the renovations had taken place but certainly not this year looking at the state of the hotel. The staff need training.

Whilst the stay was ok certain aspects were disappointing.The hotel seemed understaffed as one person was doing the checking in serving drinks and organising food which resulted in having to wait to check in.The air conditioning is not operational yet notwithstanding the room being very hot as it was in full sun.Breakfast was disappointing as things had run out but not replaced.
