Booked this hotel as a convenient place to break our journey south. The Satnav got us there easily. The hotel was clean and comfortable with helpful staff. Pleased to have a restaurant for the evening meal. Lovely patisserie across the road (not for dinner!)

We stayed in the Ibis Sud in Valence, France. The staff were very welcoming and pleasant. Their English was much better than our French. There was a menu available in English. The room was very clean and was just a five minute drive into the centre of town and found the car park as directed by Reception. Would highly recommend it.

Chose half board arrangement. The restaurant was in disarray as it was first evening of opening after refurbishment. There was no plat du jour available for the set menu, rose wine had not been chilled and it took a long time to chill in ice bucket. Ordered starter and main course and waited, as did many other clients, for an hour before receiving first course. The kitchen was also being rearranged. The restaurant staff worked very hard to cope with the situation but no management personnel explained the problem to the clients which would have eased the frustration. The new seating banquettes are more like a fast food restaurant and tables are square with sharp edges which are dangerous. The tables are very close together and some clients would find it difficult to squeeze between them to sit down. We have stayed at the hotel many times over the last 20 years but would think again in the future.

Restaurant had just reopened with inexperienced staff. Server lost her cool - which was understandable under circumstances, but not good. Everything else was at Ibis high standards.

« Staff very helpful and efficient, room and bed comfortable, restaurant meal good but more staff needed in dining area!! »

We enjoyed this Ibis hotel, easy to find from the motorway, quiet hotel and the room was very comfortable, best bed in a long time ! The restaurant being part of the hotel is a huge bonus and our dinner was delicious BUT there just weren't enough staff, the staff were under huge pressure and definitely need more help !!!

« Great to stay in the surrounding of Valence »

The staff is great, very nice, welcoming people and helpful. The only bemol is the swimming pool which is just next to the restaurant: not very nice to eat outside because of the slight smell of the swimming pool but more annoying is the "splash" of people swimming that end up on you or on your food. The access to the swimming pool should be forbidden during lunch and dinner time.

« Very nice place to spend the night... »

This was the tenth night or so we spent in this hotel during our trip to or from Spain. Very efficient and friendly staff. The hotel was upgraded in an efficient way. We missed the 'salad etc' bar that used to be there in the past, but the alternatives were quite ok.

« Good enough is not good enough »

Reception was good. Room was not ok. Dirty bathroom and a cockroach in my bed. Restaurant personnel refused to serve us outside despite there were tables available (we had to cross the street as alternative) Breakfast was good but room too small for all people to sit.

Do not hesitate to ask for an extra chair in addition to the 2 in room, so you can be fully satisfied. As for the reception in the restaurant, I am sorry for the lack of availability of tables in terraces, being visually free and previously reserved by the many guests, also present at the hotel. Think of reserving your table, as soon as you arrive, on your next stay.
