Rooms were good,bed and shower. Service from front does was always helpful and attentive. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the dinner we had. Location of hotel was also very good. When i go to Paris again i will definitely consider ibis again.

- generally speaking, this could be a nice hotel, but there seems to be a lack of maintenance that made our stay a sorry experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. But there were lots of signs of lack of maintenance and care: door handles were loose, the toilet bowl was chipped, the elevator entrance (opening after eight with a button) didn’t work (the receptionist helpfully opened it for us), the garage door (that should be opened by scanning a ticket that we got when entering) refused to open every time. After calling the reception it finally did, the first time, the second time after a while a car came in from the outside (!), so we had to back up to make room. We then took our chance and sneaked out while the door was still open, and left, hoping never to have to come back. - the temperature and ventilation could not be regulated. As a result, the room was stifling hot and stuffy. We had no other choice than to open the window, on to the sounds of the busy Periferique motorway. - there were bloodstains on one of the towels in the bathroom - the showerhead could not be fixated to the proper height on the rod, we had to shower bent over

We have repeatedly stayed at Ibis Porte d'Italie, because of reasonable prices and satisfactory standard of service offered. This time we found a run down building with missing door knobs and stained carpets in public areas, and a bathroom with bad odour and water leakage. The breakfast room is severely understaffed and consequently there were insufficient supplies of crockery and cutlery, bread and food, and the coffee machines and juice dispencers were out of order a couple of days. However this was fixed during the last days of our stay. Staff however is friendly as always.

Whilst the general facilities are perfectly fine and the staff very engaging, Room 332's bathroom has a very pervasive smell of sewage. Running the water for 5 minutes + did help a bit, but the smell soon came back.

First of all, the staff was great...... however the Hotel is not up to standards. The quality of the bed mattress is very poor. At night I had to keep the door closed of the bathroom or a sewage smell would dominate the entire bedroom. There is mold formation in the bathroom (room 259), and the sewage is smell is unbeareable (only at night). Also in the restaurant I had to switch plates and cutlery a few times each time before I would get a clean pair. For one night I could have coped, but I was there for 3 nights and I will never stay there again which is a bit of shame because the location is very close to my office.

This was our third stay at Ibis Paris Gentilly and we experienced the same friendly, helpful welcome from the reception staff as on previous visits. Our room and bed were comfortable and very clean and quiet overall considering the major roads that are very close by.

« Cheap but very nice hotel. »

The hotel is very nice, the rooms aren’t that big but not really a problem. The bed and pillows are very comfortable, the staffs at the reception are friendly and helpful. The price for the breakfast is too expensive for what they have every morning. The location of the hotel is 15mins away from the city center by train, but you have to walk 10mins aprox to reach the nearest train station.

« I had to switch rooms 2 times; front desk was curt and rude »

When I arrived the room smelled like smoke. The receptionist said that yes, sometimes people smoke even though they aren't supposed to. I was promptly given a different room. Which was acceptable until the last night when again someone in a nearby room was smoking inside and the smell was coming through the vents. I called the front desk and the man working there came up to try to smell it and said he couldn't smell anything. But I told him I could. He was curt and rude, with a poor customer service personality. But they moved me rooms, to a room with the fold-out bed open (where the desk can be), even though I don't need it. I called to ask them to put the fold-out bed away and the same man came up and roughly and crudely shut the bed, but left the bedding hanging out the cracks. It was really unprofessional and sloppy. It felt like he didn't care about me as a guest. I will not be back.

« My coeliac fiancé was given “gluten free” food containing gluten and was extremely sick »

Recently myself and my fiancé stayed at your hotel during a trip to Paris (Wednesday 20th to Sunday 24th September) We selected Ibis because we’ve had good service before and because it advertises gluten free options on the menu. This is of particular importance as my fiancé is coeliac and cannot eat anything containing gluten. Upon arrival we were offered the breakfast option and double checked again at this time that gluten free could be provided. We were told again this would be no problem and paid for breakfast for our stay. The first two mornings were both fine though with a somewhat limited choice but nevertheless the staff were happy to get us gluten free bread on request. On the third morning however (Saturday 19th) there was obviously some issue with what my fiancé was provided as around 3/4 hours after breakfast she was violently sick. This was particularly distressing as we were at least a 45 minutes drive from the hotel. We managed to see an emergency doctor who confirmed that she had consumed gluten. The vomiting continued for over 2 hours, followed by severe stomach cramps and diarrhoea and dehydration. This unfortunately ruined the rest of the day and left her quite ill over the next 4/5 days including our flight home the next afternoon. This must be addressed with your staff as I’m sure you’ll agree this is a serious issue which could have potentially been even worse. It’s also infuriating as we checked, double checked and triple checked every morning that the food she was eating was gluten free. Needless to say we didn’t eat breakfast the next day. More infuriating however is that I made this complaint initially through the customer care website on the Monday we came back. An automated message told me someone would respond to me within 48 hours. I heard nothing after 3 days so tried again but still heard nothing back. I tried contacting Ibis through Facebook which was extremely unhelpful (7 hours in between replies, repetition of questions already answered) I also tried calling but was passed from one number to the next without resolution. Originally I was looking for a partial refund and a refund of the cost of breakfast to compensate us but considering the cost of emergency taxi journeys and having to cancel pre-paid plans as well as not hearing back from anyone at Ibis after 2 weeks, I’m now looking for, at least, a full refund of our bill.
