« Not the best 3star hotel I have stayed in »

It was ok for one night , but I was there two !!!! The smelt like they had been animals in there hairdryer didn’t work reception gave us a portable one, when to the bar had one drink as there wasn’t any body to serve us another so we left

Hotel is very easy and quick to access from motorway/autoroute. But this also means that there is traffic noise. We were on second floor at back so it might be worse at the front of the hotel. There was a bad smell of drains on the second floor landing. Having a choice of restaurants within walking distance is also an advantage. Breakfast was adequate but croissants weren't fresh and - given that we are in the orange season - it would have been nice to have the possibility of squeezed orange juice. Coffee from an automatic machine tasted mediocre.

Excellent, comfortable room with complimentary coffee and tea making facilities, very welcome after a long journey. The bed was roomy and comfortable and an excellent buffet style breakfast ensured a good start to the day. The reception staff were very pleasant and welcoming. We will use this hotel again.

« A bad stay »

This was suposed to be an overnight stop on way from Spain to the UK. We had stayed before and it was acceptable. Paid in advance. Mistake. Room was at side of property with noises from other rooms all night. Old carpet, needed cleaning, and no other rooms available ( as they were not cleaned ).Asked reception to store my medication in fridge. They had done this before without problem. This time they froze it in the freezer, despite assuring us that they would not. Offered a coffee as compensation.After a while, the only person there arranged for duplicate medication from a local pharmacy at our expense. They gave us some of our money back in hotel points, as they had no access to the company money either on a credit or debit transfer.It is a big problem, as if I had taken the medication after it had defrosted, it could have killed me. The hotel did not seem to understand this.So if you want to dice with death, and end up out of pocket this is the hotel for you !!They did refund the room though. ( but that still left us out of pocket ) - and not covered by our insurance as a third party did the freezing.Head office never replied. Not happy as we are Platinum status with the hotel group.

« Friendly familiar home for a night »

We have used this Ibis hotel a number of times on our homeward journey from Spain to the UK. The hotel has had a revamp and the accommodations have been improved especially the new larger TV's and the refurbished toilets etc. Also the beds and bedding are more comfortable. We enjoyed a great value buffet supper and a generous breakfast. It served us as a very convenient stop over just off the E9/A20 with convenient petrol shopping and restaurants near at hand.

We were received very well by a polite and helpful receptionist. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean and there as good storage. The only disappointment was that the bed was not in fact a double bed but two single beds put together to look like a double bed. This was uncomfortable for sleeping in especially where the two single beds/mattresses joined.
