We have stayed at this hotel many times, whilst travelling to and from our holiday home in the Charente. There is always a warm reception from the friendly, efficient staff and the bedrooms, although not over large, are always spotless. The restaurant offer some good evening meals at a reasonable price and there is always a good offering for breakfast. There is only one small improvement that we would like to see and that is the addition of a power socket in the bathroom for shavers.

For the socket, I'm sorry to read that to date no one has told you that there is one on the wall hair dryer. French law forbids us to put an apparent one because the points of water are less than 1.50m. This one is protected by a cover on the support of the hair dryer in order to avoid any electrocution. Room was small but the bed was comfortable. It seems mean that in France Accor silver members are only offered one drink when everywhere else you get a free drink for your guest also. Asking about this made the bar staff grumpy. This hotel has not been visited by the Smile team! The bar area is quite uncomfortable especially after a long drive.

Stayed for one night (Tuesday) in this conveniently located hotel. Easy to find; accessing its parking was harder, especially as it was the early evening rush. It's only possible to get into the hotel frontage from one direction - as if you are heading towards Nausicaa with the water on your left. This wouldn't be a problem at a less busy time of day. To get into the car park through the Ibis's entrance you need a ticket only available from reception. Stop BEFORE the hotel entrance if possible to get this, otherwise you are past the car park access and have to drive around the one way system, over 2 bridges and back round to get back to the hotel. Once you have your ticket, all is easy - drive down the ramp, ticket in machine and you're in. Ibis's dedicated parking is to the right but it's a big car park for a shopping centre and you can park anywhere. There is an access door to the hotel from the dedicated parking area - you need your ticket to get through. We took so long to get the car into the car park and work out where to park that the very kind and friendly receptionist came looking for us - I was very impressed! After that, all was fine. No problems with our reservation - all paid for in advance as expected. Just had topay 8 euros for a night 's parking - we left the car for a large part of the next day too. Room was small but clean and comfortable. There was a lift as well as stairs to get to the upper floors. Shower room was a good size. No view but we were only there for one night. Rooms looked fairly recently refurbished. Hairdryer in bathroom. There was one socket and 2 USB points next to one side of the bed. No kettle but most French hotels don't have one in the room and we weren't expecting one. (It's just nice when they do.) Bed was comfortable and we slept well - pillows were a bit soft though. The shower was good. We had booked breakfast - this was a continental buffet and was good. The only hot food was boiled eggs, but there was cereal, fruit salad, yoghurt, different breads, cold meat, cheese, pancakes, croissants and pains au chocolat as well as the usual hot drinks and fruit juice. The hotel has a bar and restaurant but we found a restaurant a few minutes walk away, heading up the hill towards the old town, in Place Dalton by the old church. There were several restaurants there and we enjoyed a lovely meal. Place Dalton has a market on Wednesday mornings. The fortified town is a few minutes further on and well worth a visi

We have stayed at this Hotel for 20 years, when you allow! Can't always get in in mid September. We are both mid 70's in age and wife is somewhat disabled. Just before we travelled I emailed for, if possible, twin room with walk in shower and your very helpful member of staff gave us a disabled room next to the lift on the second floor. Room was OK but the "wet room" was not, water everywhere, able bodied partner had trouble using shower room after, everything wet. So we will not ask again or mention disability and just ask for a twin room with walk in shower if possible. Thanks for trying.

As usual the high standard st was once again achieved, however one criticism...The big party staying for two nights appear to have got priority over other resident guests when being able to book the restaurant. As there was a problem with insufficient seating we should have been informed earlier of this seating shortage as sitting at the bar was NOT an ideal way to enjoy a full meal.

Our parking door was indeed open all day between 7am and 8pm which corresponds to the opening hours of the nearby shopping center. Being rented at home, the security station has the task of monitoring the entire shopping center including parking with their rounds of service or with their cameras. for the night you must know that it was closed and therefore the parking was well secured during this period. this problem being solved it is no longer a question to date and all the better for your future stay. Room fine (recently modernised?), location such that better to drive than walk to old part of town, the need to walk outside the hotel to reach hotel car park not great especially when the weather is bad.

Room good clean and comfortable.The staff very friendly and polite.The resteraunt was very disappointing.The menu is extremely limited and what we had wasn't good due to the poor choice. The front of the hotel is very dirty full of cigarette ends broken plant pots with dead flowers in. The walkway to the garage was also filthy. Not really acceptable for a room that was 96 euro excluding breakfast. I have 40 euros due to me on my accor account but the girl on reception could not get the computer to refund this money which was very annoying. Altogether a disappointing experience.I stay in this hotel 4 times a year but if there is no improvement I will be looking for somewhere else to stay and would not recommend this hotel to anyone else.

Our restaurant menu is indeed smaller than in the recent past but the lack of dishes and choice should not be a factor of mediocrity on the contrary. We are supposed to offer you dishes of good taste. As for the front of our hotel, a cleaning has been done since about the broken flowerpot, a bus took everything during his departure. A project of global renovation of our exteriors is planned after having redone our interior recently as you have seen it yourself being a regular customer. We had to know about a water leak in the city that brought sewage water up for 24 hours in our area and we managed the urgency of stopping the rise of water and then making room for cleaning. To finish on the regulation of your note, our trainee did not know how to answer your request and did not inform the person incumbent of the post to make you this payment and I am sorry for it still We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future. Staff were friendly, and the hotel is well positioned for the seafront and the lower town square. The rooms are newly decorated and comfortable. private parking is available beneath the hotel. The hotel is close to Calais, some 30 mins from channel ferries.

Friendly and helpful staff. Easy to find. Parking important but I would not want to pay €8 for each car each night. After all there is no other way to get to your hotel. That would stop me staying there again. ( it was waived this time as there were access problems).
