« One time experience not to be repeated »

I understood from the IBIS website that there was a direct shuttle service between the airport and the hotel, this turned out not to be the case. The bus brings you to the nearest Luas station, which is a 7 minutes walk to the hotel (possibly more when you are lugging bags and Luggage around). Upon arrival at Dublin Airport, there was no clear indication on where to find the bus to IBIS hotel, nor what type of bus I was looking for. I tried to call the hotel twice, but got an automatic response instead of a real person that could have explained. (I couldn't understand the message as there was a lot of noise at the bus station) It is only thanks to very helpful airport and bus company staff that I finally got on the right bus. There is only 1 bus per hour, and I did not know the timetable before arriving at the (correct) bus stop - so had to wait 45 minutes. Big room, good bed and pillows. Clean; private bathroom... Expensive breakfast (€10,50 per day), especially when you are not a big eater, and in my case, vegetarian and lactose intolerant, which does not leave many options :-( No communication between reception and cleaning personnel: cleaning personnel showing up shortly after 9 AM already (so no sleeping in), or even barging in without knocking while I was in the room (happened twice to me!) Snack menu is supposed to be available all day: I tried to order linguini at 6 pm, had to wait until 6.30 to order because "the kitchen wasn't ready", then received penne instead of linguini, without informing me beforehand that they were "out of linguini" or giving me the chance to change my order (I was specifically looking forward to the linguini, I can eat penne anywhere). Afterwards, they charged €11.95 while the snack menu said €10. When I pointed this out, the bill was corrected. Late check-out was only possible until 2pm instead of 5pm as it says on the website, but it still cost me €25 extra! During these extra 2 hours, I couldn't even get a rest because cleaning personnel kept showing up, asking me what time I was leaving. Not the best way to make a guest feel welcome! I ended up leaving an hour early because I felt so uneasy and chased out of my room :-(.

Many thanks for all your feedback noting the access and travel options from the airport also. I am very sorry that you were disturbed the the accommodation cleaning personel and this will be addressed today. Regarding the restaurant also my apologies as you should have been told about the lack of linguini on the menu. I do hope you will give us another chance to redeem your past experience and please contact me should you wish to do so. Sharon Hoyte Guest Relations Manager

« Still mould in bathroom »

However, some of rooms were renewed and priced up, the bathroom revealed severe amount of mould around shower cabin and sink. Very sad not to using anti-mould detergents so far.

« Last night of fabulous Ireland »

We spent the last night of our driving tour of Ireland at the Ibis because it has a car park and is (literally) on the M50 motorway to Dublin airport. The main reason though is that Ibis has a great reputation for having the facilities for travellers on the move. We weren't disappointed with any aspect of our short stay

« No frills hotel »

Bedroom was fine. Wash hand basin in bathroom very aged and brown looking and smell from toilet. Dining tables at breakfast very poor both in quality and cleanliness. Good location for visiting Dublin.

« Clean, efficient, helpful »

We arrived late, and unfortunately there was a large party of guest (tour) at sat to dinner just prior to us hoping to have dinner, maybe if we had understood that there was limited area for dining we could of prebooked at table. While we ate in our room, the hour wait was a small annoyance. But staff were very friendly and efficient.

« Good »

The room (409) was of a great size when compared to other IBIS hotels that we have stayed at. The room was clean, and in good order throughout, I can’t recall any marks or damage. The hotel staff, reception and the staff based on the 4th floor were most helpful, as we needed to borrow a pen and obtain some extra tea bags. Unfortunately the biggest let down was the breakfast, when we checked-in we didn’t at the time know if we would be taking breakfast, the reception staff said that we could add the charge to our room account if we changed our minds. On the Monday 4th September we decided that we would have breakfast, when staying at other IBIS hotels we have just given our room number and the cost of the breakfast was added without question, then we settled the charge when checking out. At IBIS Dublin this was not the case, we arrived at the food counter, we were greeted by one of the service staff who asked for our room number, which we gave, we were then told that we were not on the list and that we had to pay €21.00 there and then in cash and that we could not add the charge to our room, we didn’t have the cash on us, so we asked again if we could just add the charge to our room. After much debate between the reception staff and the service staff, they finally agreed that we could add the breakfast charge to our room. I have never ever stayed at an IBIS before and been asked for the breakfast charge to be paid in cash over the food counter. We have stayed at many IBIS hotels in the UK, France, now Ireland and Berlin next January, we were amazed at this situation and due to this we avoided the breakfast the following morning. Apart from the breakfast we enjoyed our stay and have booked a further three nights from the 3rd October 2017. I must add that we paid the €21.00 breakfast charge when we checked out, no receipt was given confirming our payment!

My experience was very disappointing. I booked to pay with my point's which only to be told I could not when I checked in. The website confirmed that this was do-able! Whilst at the hotel, the room was not cleaned, beds made-up or towels changed over the two evenings staying at the hotel. I booked the room for 3 people and was disappointed again by the fact the room had a sofa bed! not acceptable standard. My sister cut her leg on the sharp sofa metal also. Health and safety issue with the sharpness off the foldable bed! On a more positive note staff were friendly

« Satisfactory »

Usually stay in Accor/Ibis hotels in Austria/Germany/Switzerland; general hotel/room cleanliness was not up to standard; floor in restaurant/breakfast area was particularly poor; sticky throughout; air conditioning unit directly outside window of room #236; staff not really attentive; information says food and drinks available 24/7; but bar was closed after 12;

« Pleasant surprise »

first time in the Dublin Ibis, was pleasantly surprised by size of room and overall decor. Excellent location for business travelling. Dined in the restaurant too. This was a bigger surprise, friendly staff were under severe pressure but never let it show. Food was very good and great value.
