« A great night sleep at short notice »

Air conditioned room was a great respite from the hot hot summer! We were grateful that you could accommodate our family of 4 plus a dog without a booking, after delays on the channel crossing meant we couldn’t reach our ultimate destination. Nice breakfast too!

The worst hotel - sorry I would not call the room facilities a hotel rooms but more like a hostel or even hospital rooms in 80s in European countries. First of all shocking view when entering the hotel - homeless people making their physical needs in front of the main hotel entrance. Second of all - cockroaches running on the reception desk on check in papers and receptionist making the bad smile to terrible situation. Third of all and the most important and horrifying HOTEL ROOMS. To make it brief: 1. Old, dirty, with plenty of stains carpet 2. Dirty, moldy and not cleaned (with hair on the floor and in the bin) bathroom 3. Windows so dirty that you could not look outside 4. Curtains stinky and with plenty of little wholes from cigarettes 5. Windows sill with wholes and lacks of paint This is just to name few KEY ISSUES. Even after complain and replacing the room we (family of 4) were afraid of sleeping there but as we travel 1000KM there was no time and strength to look for new facility. Novotel METZ is not a NOVOTEL STANDARD HOTEL - and I traveled across many of Novotel hotels in France. This is definitely and shall not be 4 star hotel and I will be writing official complain with pictures to NOVOTEL MANAGEMENT to reclaim the paid amount as it was not worth a single Euro. To sum up: Terrible, Horrible, Unpleasant NOVOTEL hotel in France I been to. Will never ever reccomend this to anyone.

« Nice place for a stopover »

We used the hotel as a stopover place whilst riding through France into Luxembourg. Word of warning everywhere is shut on a Sunday so was really difficult to find food on arrival in the town. Nice hotel in the centre of town. Breakfast was pricey but seemed to be the going rate for French hotels. Another warning....if it's hot sunny weather the slate surround to the pool gets very hot. I burnt my feet whilst walking to the steps.

« Great spot for a night's rest. »

I stayed at Novotel in Metz for one night. The room was nice and clean and provided good privacy between us and our boys. We loved the breakfast and we loved that they had Xbox - Kinnect in the lobby. My boys played until the late hours. The staff were also very friendly. I was very happy with the experience.

Based on the location we came back on our way home after staying here 2 1/2 weeks prior on the way to Nord Pas-de-Calais. The staff is great even though the late breakfast brings them somehow to the limits. It was a good experience.

Our welcome was very friendly; the lady on departure was very abrupt. Was most disappointed with our room - not at all the standard we've had before, especially for 2 nights and for a Gold Accor member. Would not stay again. Further, the gold end-of-bed cover fell off during the night, and that's when questionable stains on the back of it were apparent. Not good!

« Non working elevators didcriminatory to handicapped people »

Horrible. The tiny elevator is bad enough when it is only one working; we experienced both our of service late at night. Management has no back up plan to shuttle people to lobby, in fact hid from any responsibility. Staff just shrugs shoulders it's such a common experience.

« Elevators from main entrance street and parking level are a disaster »

Elevators from street level and parking are horrible, tiny and it took 45 minutes to get to lobby to check it. Then you change elevators to room. Bad enough for check in. But we went to dinner, upon return no elevators to lobby worked. Also the night bell didn’t work. Staff should have been posted to assist. My handicapped sister and rest of party with 3 rooms had to walk several blocks around the hotel and up many sets of stairs. Handicap people stay away from this hotel! One so called executive room had dirty carpet including cigarette burn holes in carpet. Other executive room was fine except hose was not connected to the vaunted Novotel rain shower. Breakfast was lovely except I dined early and found sliced bread frozen. Later all bread was fresh and lovely. Don’t go to breakfast at 0630 opening. The manager Pascal Chauveau listed patiently to my ferociously complaint on non working elevators and made an adjustment. This Novotel must ne Otis Elevator’s best customer and Otis is screwing this Novotel and every xpcustomer. However nothing can compensating for the pain and suffering of my handicap sister and the ruining Metz visit which was a tribute to my diseased father who helped liberate Metz in WWII. I chose Novotel because of good experiences in Asia and Australia. Metz Novotel was an aberration.

Housekeeping was the one area that could be improved especially in the bathroom shower stall floor was not cleaned throughout our stay The front desk staff were excellent and extremely helpful - they helped us to arrange a short tour of the city
