This is a top hotel thanks to its location and staff quality, but the restaurant is under par and serves at best an improved family cuisine with dishes and ingredients that have been prepared earlier and are served without any creativity. We found some good restaurants in the neighbourhood, but one expects more from a five star hotel. The hotel is dated and that shows in the small rooms and disappointing bathroom size and design.

As a frequent user of Sofitel hotels we were surprised that this particular hotel didn’t really measure up to its claimed five stars. The building and it’s surroundings are “tired” and in places in real need of refurbishment. Silly errors like not servicing the room until 4.30pm should not happen in a five star hotel. On arrival there was no one on reception. We waited a good five minutes for someone to arrive. All these things in aggregation build disappointment. However by far the worst aspect of this hotel is the restaurant. The menu is incredibly limited with only three choices of entree and three main courses. These did not change in the four days we were staying. Only the suggestions of the day changed. And they were limited to one starter and one main course. Worse the standard of cooking was J. appalling. Poulet de Bresse €32 can be a firm meat but shouldn’t be dry and stringy as ours were. On the second occasion we dined there my haddock dish was J. the worst cooking of a piece of fish I have ever seen. It was sent back but we had to fight to get it taken off the menu. My husband ordered a filet de boeuf rare , it arrived totally overcooked. This is an expensive restaurant and we rightly expect more. !!! Breakfast was superb & the staff were amazing . The concierge was a total professional and incredibly informative. We dined out at a wonderful restaurant on two occasions on the concierge’s recommendation.

It was very good. Great service, great location, and great food. Only thing missing was a lounge area to relax which isn’t at the bar or restaurant. It seems that the ‘management office takes a huge space for 1 desk. This space could make a great sofa books relax area as it has a great view. This was missed as the weather wasn’t great.

« Nice rooms, nice restaurant, disappointing conference facilities »

Two-day stay for In-hotel conference. The conference rooms where below standard. 1) The first day, the projector was not working properly. We arrived 45 min before the start of the seminar, but while technical personal tried to solve the issues - without any visible stress or luck - it was not until we where 15 minutes late and we complained to management, that we where offered to switch to another conference room. 2) The AC/heating was quite bad: The room was either cold or heat was boosting down right a the presenter 3) The entrance to the conference area lacked the class, style and charm that you would expect - and that the rest of the hotel has.

« I was pleasantly surprised by the renovation of the hotel since my last visit in October 2013. »

Initial telephone contact at 09h00 on 23 November 2017 was not promising because the chap who answered said that the room reservation line was busy. He noted my number and said I would receive a call in a few minutes. One hour later, when I had not heard back, I called the hotel and was abke to reserve. Some clients would just give up waiting and maybe call the RadissonBlu instead, as I have done in the past. My stay was fortunately far more positive.

« Love the room and the view with the sound of waves lapping the small beach infront of my room »

This is the first Sofitel that I have stayed in that is pleasant to look at. The room was a perfect size for me, I was travelling solo and there was a door on the inside that divided the bed area from the entrance and bathroom. This permitted silence from the hall way! The bed was great. The view was great There was a small terrace with ocean view. Bathroom on the smaller side - it appeared no larger than 2 x 2 metres but was compact with everything you need unless you want a bath with a view. I travelled within a small group as a solo traveller. On arrival when I asked for my luggage to be taken care of I was answered that "Cètait pas prevue". Expecting 5 star service at a so called 5 star hotel and then being told that bringing the luggage to my room was not part of the deal- ??? Thankfully my case had rollers. The food in the restaurant was mediocre. We dined 3 nights each time having tapas or a light supper and found that the food was boring and very average, even the cold cuts were inferior, but we were too tired to go elsewhere. The service by the dining staff was also very average in general - there was one young man that took his job seriously but... We even had an incident where the wine being poured into a glass was dripped over a hand. I had a massage booked for the end of the day before the group was expected to meet up again and when I arrived 10 minutes ahead they explained that there would be a 10 minutes delay - ok - I browsed the small boutique and then sat down and waited, and waited, and waited. After 25 minutes beyond my appointment I had to cancel otherwise I would miss my group. They were apologetic and offered sweets... The Spa is lovely and if you have time and can wait its a great place. Would I do back? Yes, loved the room and value my sleep.

It was for us a holiday period with comfortable room, excellent service, perfect breakfast experience. Most staff members are helpful, friendly and very kind. PS: We had to take a plane early at 8h00, we arranged with the GM, Mr Bertho , that we will come to the breakfast at about 5h30. It was confirmed. When we came in, it seemed that the information did not go to the correct staff members. A lady, who is normally at the reception desk , gave us the comment, rather crude, that the breakfast starts at 6h00, looking at her watch. As we mentioned Mr Bertho's name, she went away immediately to the reception desk. The person, Mr François, responsible for the buffet, did what he could to bring something to eat. Maybe a suggestion: why not prepare the evening before, a dish with the most common food, stored in the refrigerator. Actually, we did not have a proper breakfast. My conclusion is that it happens that Mr Bertho's assignment is ignored. When leaving the hotel that lady told me again that they were not informed.

« Friendly, helpful staff who are a credit to the hotel and brand. »

Whilst some areas of the hotel need a little re-touching cosmetically, the overall experince was very good. The restaurant was a little expensive for the food on offer, but the bar staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating in the creation of cocktails not on the list. Special thanks must go to Victor and Claire at reception, and in particular Romain who was incredibly helpful in arranging a replacement hire car for us, and he went above and beyond what was expected - he was a credit to Sofitel. The thalasso was sometimes not available and the gym could do with a fan as it gets very hot in there but these are minor details. Overall, oir enjoyable stay has confirmed our faith in the Sofitel brand as being one of elegant and accessible luxury.
