« Nice amenities. »

I was in Brazil on business and selected your hotel due to its proximity to the airport and where my meetings were scheduled. The hotel is updated and the rooms are large and spacious. My only "dilemma" was the heat that Sao Paulo was experiencing that week and it was challenging to keep the room cool enough, but I was more than comfortable during my stay. The staff and the bar attendees were very friendly and the cost per stay was very reasonable.

I enjoyed my stay. The reception staff is very helpful and friendly. I love the boulangerie, it reminds me of Viennese coffee houses back home. The food, especially breakfast buffet is delicious.

« It used to be better... »

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel as always. For the past 5-7 years, every time we come to visit our family in Sao Paulo we chose to stay at the Grand Mercure Ibirapuera. However I believe it is time for the hotel to do some modernization in the accomodations and pay more attention into the maintenance. The airconditioning is noisy and brings funny smell when turned on for long time. We informed the reception at previous time we stayed and for a few hours it was ok but the smell was back quickly. Then the bathroom... it is very dirty behind the doors and in the shower there is a black color around the door not giving a fresh feeling. The pillows have been better at the times that the hotel was Pullmann. You have to fight for a place in the swimming pool. The hotel is mainly occupied by different air companies and the crew seems to feel in charge there. Speaking loud and not taking other guests into account. The breakfast is the same every day! There is no variety. We usually spend around 10 days and the food was exactly the same every single day! The staff is extremely friendly and that is what makes us come back every time. Despite of the loyality we have to this hotel and always come back booking 2 rooms for a long period, we are asked to pay everything at the moment of the check in. No problems about this. What i really dislike is the request to leave a deposit /reservation in the credit card for any expenses we would make during our stay. It is a huge amount and for the past two times, this full amount got deducted from my account and took a long time to have it credited again. This time I chose to do not leave the deposit and every time we would go to the restaurant or the bar it was like the staff needed to make a statement that we didnt have a credit and would pay imediately. Of course we paid but honestly it didnt feel nice. Specially because we are loyal guests. All in all it is a good hotel but a modernization in the rooms and a recognition for our loyality would have made the hotel great again. We are not sure if we will return in the future.

The facilities were great, there are no regrets, but I was offered a better price to stay with you on a website and the staff told me, for my surprise, that the price I paid didn't allow me having breakfast. The main problem was that they told it to my mother and to my daughter just when they were getting into the restaurant in order to have breakfast while I was taking a shower. There was no such information in the voucher and they didn't mention it when we were checking-in. I felt devastated.

« Light switchers not working and official receipt (Brazilian Nota Fiscal) never received. »

Light switchers were not working properly in my room. After unpacking and showering, I was ready to sleep when I noticed that lights could not be turned off. I tried all switchers with no result. There was a pair, one at each side of the bed, that would not work (when pressed, the lights blinked, but stayed on; I tried each switch at a time, and both resulted in blinking but not turning off). Calling the reception to ask for a technician, or changing rooms, would take more time out of my night sleep so I decided to resolve the issue by removing the card key from the card holder to get everything, including the lights, turned off. Thankfully, it was not a hot night, so I could sleep with the air-conditioner off. Additionally, at the check-out, I was promised to receive a official receipt (Brazilian Nota Fiscal) by email, but it has not yet arrived.

This was my second stay here and I enjoyed it more because I knew what I was getting into. I had booked a junior suite which has great views of the park. I was surprised they did not offer me breakfast as a Platinum member and staying in their best room but I learned to survive on biscuits. They are very responsive to requests and I just called for the ice when I needed it. I like the location of the hotel, close to the park and museums in a very nice safe feeling neighborhood. There is an I heated pool, nice health club and tennis court,

No words can describe this great experience. Its complicated, no matter what hotel, despite any people/guest comment, you only know how good is the hotel when you live the experience of being That welcome. The view is awesome, the employees, gastronomic, space, everything. Its hard to say what to improve and everything made you feel welcome, comfy. One thing that you can study is to put a Loccitane store/kiosk somewhere the hotel, cause after i try the products...it was love at the first...smell/sensation =] Anyway, thanks for the invite/experience. I have intentions to try the sofitel "experience" someday
