« Pleasant and comfortable stay in Mount Isa »

Location and comfort of the hotel is great, breakfast is basic but ok. Unfortunately i was bitten by an insect/spider in my bed which has resulted in time off work, Dr's visits and antibiotics. Not sure if this is just bad luck or whether the room needs to be treated for insects. We had booked a function room for training, they only had red markers for the butchers paper which wasnt visible at the back of the room, i asked for black marker but was told they didnt have any the previous group must have taken them. The staff directed me to a dollars and sense shop across the road where i had to go and buy my own. (Was charged $39 for butchers paper and flip chart). Would be good if a black marker is included in future. The lunch was not satisfactory, however, I am happy to say i voiced my concerns to the staff on duty who did their very best to resolve the issue and provide a good afternoon tea for our delegates.

The feedback in regards to the markers is valid and we have never though of the visibility from the back of the room. We will endeavor to have darker colours for our up coming functions. I am also pleased to hear Angela was able to rectify the problems with the food for you. Barb, it also concerns me in regards to the insect bite in the room. We have had our pest control thoroughly check room 355 and they have been unable to find any evidence of the insect. Once again we apoligize we fell below your expectations. I enjoyed my stay - reception was poor on one channel (the one I wanted to watch unfortunately) but the staff were lovely and helpful and my room was super comfortable. I would have like a better standard of bread for breakfast, my only disappointment.

Breakfast was very simple and not very appealing. Coffee was just as bad as cheap instant. My room had open screws sticking out. My side table had wires coming out of the middle and the curtains had stains on them. It made me question the cleanliness of the room. My room faced onto the road and had no noise reduction at all.

We spent three nights at Ibis Styles Mount Isa Verona. Remembering it is an Ibis Styles brand there is much to like about the hotel. The room had everything we could have wanted; was comfortable and reasonably spacious. Our bed was quite squeaky though comfortable enough. The bathroom was fine. The only option for breakfast was a Continental breakfast. It was ok but not too good if you are trying to limit carbs. We ate in the restaurant twice in the evening. The restaurant itself is well appointed with a very welcoming ambience. The young lady who served us both evenings was excellent. The menu is fairly limited with most meals having 'mash'. My wife enjoyed her meals on both nights. I had one good meal and one that was disappointing. A reasonable wine list was available. Our biggest disappointment is that the restaurant is not open on Saturday night ... seemed very odd. I can only assume that most of their patronage is from business people during the week.
