« Fine but we were moved due to the renovations »

It would have been fine to be informed that in the middle of my stay I had to move to the Novotel which is not a hotel that I appreciate much. The move from the Pullman to the Novotel was handled poorly. Fortunately I could borrow the car of friend, I would like to emphasize that the Pullman staff handled this better than the Novotel's staff.

« OLD HOTEL UNDER RENOVATION »

I stayed already at the Teranga in 1975. My surprise was last week that the hotel was undergoing reconstruction whilst the guests where there. Already early in the morning there was a lot of noice and also during the day something heavy felt on the tarrace where peaople where eating. Nothing of all was mentioned of this in the website by making the booking. This is not serious; All was made good by the friendly staff and the new clean room. Especialy at breakfast and lunch I enjoyed the very kind attendance and smile of Marie Diouf. Once all works terminated its the most beautifull place in Dakar close to the city and beach.

« wonderful staff »

excellent - (except for the temporary ongoing building works to doubly the size of the hotel!) - the exceptional aspect is the staff who were very special - the hotel is in course of being doubled in size and the building works were disturbing from time to time - the food is good with a good menu though somewhat limited - room service is good with a slightly expanded menu

« awesome experience for wedding anniversary »

I had booked the least expensive room for a night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. While checking in online I mentioned the reason for our night out, and I asked for a quiet room on a high floor. (I had read online about the works being done to the hotel, too). At arrival the receptionist smiled at me while handing me the room key that sat there waiting on us. When entering our room on the sixth floor - ocean view! - we found our bed and bathroom nicely decorated with flowers, we found a free minibar, and a few minutes later room service brought us an afternoon snack; ...on the house! The pool along with the private and empty beach - though- on the other side of the street - were beautiful and all we needed for the afternoon. After dinner the TERANGA team surprised as once more with an anniversary cake they had prepared for us. Half of the hotel is under renovation, but it did not disturb us at all seeing they work from 9am to 6pm or 7pm - ...while we are at the pool. :-) No doubt, we'll be back, and we can only recommend this hotel!

Old hotel which has been good, but quality of facilities was going down. Hotel is being renovated now, what is badly needed. Service is good. Food acceptable. let s hope for the new renovated place!!!

« Two faces: center and ocean- old and new »

The hotel's location is perfect - very central and yet a garden with pool near the shoreline. Staff at the reception are helpful, and the airport shuttle is very useful. The restaurant's menu is quite limited and quality of food is disappointing. Many elements of the hotel are reminiscent of its past as a Sofitel, but it is in dire need of a total make-over to expectations associated to Pullman.

« Outdated »

The rooms are old and not very clean. The housekeeping forgot to put pillow cases on my pillows a couple of times. No water was delivered. The personnel at the bar do not practice customer service. The food was the same everyday.

I enjoyed my short stay.The staff from the entrance to the Rooms and Restaurant were friendly.Hope to be back sometime soon.I had a walk round the hotel.The only regret is that the gym is outside the hotel and have to pay for its service.

« Cutting back? »

Have stayed here many times and was hoping that Accor would invest in improving the hotel's infrastructure. But sadly this is not happening. Such a shame. The bathrooms are getting shabbier and they seem to be cutting back on basics like towels and bath mats. I didn't even get my free drink as a gold card holder. They messed up my booking and showed little sense of service on the front desk. Disappointing... come on guys! Are you aiming lower than the Novotel? I though the Pullman was supposed to be better!

This hotel visit was a disaster as on arrival after having a confirmed late arrival we were told that they had not kept the rooms and then refused any refunds. From having 2 confirmed rooms we ended up sharing a room albeit an upgrade to a suite. No invoices issued as we booked on line

asked for a sea view actually it is a sea view over a construction site. old furniture . towels 20 y old . carpets with cigarettes marks. internet not working. I changed the hotel the day after. never again until complete refurbishment

Great place to stay in Dakar. An oasis in the middle of downtown Dakar. Take advantage of being in proximity to all of the important things to do as a visitor and then the respite of the wonderful pool right on the ocean. The staff could not have treated us any nicer. They went out of their way to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. I give them my highest rating.

« Character but needs some renovation »

Nice location, good pool and restaurant terrace with a view. Rooms are quite large and comfortable. Bathrooms need refitting and TVs are also outdated. This is still a good choice as the staff are good and the feel of the place is worth it.

« Excellent Hotel But Terrible Airport Shuttle »

I was very pleased to stay at the Pullman Teranga, it wasn't my first time and it would be a wonderful stay if the shuttle from/to the Airport didn't wake me up from a dream: When I arrived to Dakar, I waited in the Shuttle van almost ONE Hour waiting for the other guests, and when leaving to the Airport, the Shuttle van delayed the departure time about 30 minutes, and when it finally arrived, we did a city tour to another hotel... to pick another guest !!! And waited for him for at least 10 minutes! We were about 15 people in the van that had small seats with 2 in every row!! I was sitting in the seat over the rear wheel so my legs where close to my chest for the whole trip from the hotel to the airport, passing by the wait time in the other Hotel. I understand that with the finance crisis, every company is cutting off costs, but this is not the right way to do it guys, especially with your Guests, the next time I'll take a Taxi, and I'll think then about the destination...

« The room was awful »

When I first entered the room the door knob fell off in my hands. That was the start to one of the worst hotel experiences that i have ever had. I am very unlikely to stay in any of your hotels ever again. When I complained to the management they offered me a free coffee. I refused the coffee.
