« My room felt old and not to the standards of Sofitel in general »

I don't know if it was just my room or not but it needs some renovation (carpet, furniture, etc) Oh and my toilet was against the shower I'm quite small but couldn't even put my legs straight.. So I can't imagine someone taller or bigger...

« Very good »

Location is perfect for who travel by car very easy way of exit from the city center. Also walking around is easy from there. Staff is kind very helpful. Check in was smooth. The room is nice, no view in our room but nothing to say, good space. Very nice roof restaurant for breakfast with amazing view. We enjoyed and we will be back.

« A very disappointing stay. »

I was looking forward to my stay and was met with disappointment at almost every turn. From not recognizing me as a Le Club Accor member -- even though I am only a general member, not elite -- to a room that was in very poor condition, to the inability to find a restaurant serving lunch on arrival, to overpriced drinks in the eight floor bar, to poor service at the breakfast room, the hotel made "Fawlty Towers" look like a Ritz-Carlton. Although the manager was kind enough to make an adjustment on my bill, I remain disenchanted with this property.

The rooms were fine but small. Not much space if you are staying for couple of days. Rooms are quite and did not feel disturbed. Central location in Bellacour. Lot of restaurants around and walking distance to the Vieux Lyon.

Great from start to finish.The rooms was clean comfortable and well furnished with all the little things you expect in a hotel like this. Great rooftop bar and restaurant. The big star I this hotel is the staff! Kind and helpful all over and a pleasure to be looked after so well.

« Not the best Sofitel »

I stay at the Sofitel at Gatwick and Heathrow quite a lot. There is no comparison. The hotel in Lyon is run down, furnishings are old and not good quality. Staff very slow and unhelpful, some rather rude. We had prepaid an evening meal, when checking my bill upon checkout, I was charged for the meal. Breakfast not explained. The location was very good though.

« Good visit--had a room charge that occurred before I checked in-- »

Good trip overall. There was a charge for spirits from the lounge upstairs. (I had not visited the lounge this trip at all). The charge occurred the night BEFORE I checked in ( since I aske for early check in). The reception desk was very helpful to remove the charge, however, if I was in a hurry, I probably would not have noticed it until too late. Please make sure when charging rooms, that both the room number and name are known by the people trying to charge :)

« Great hotel in good cenral location »

Check in was very good. Room 508 is not one of the renovated rooms which is a bit disappointing compared to previous stays at Sofitel Bellecour. It really looks quite outdated now (no USB charging wall plug, aging carpet, old decoration overall). But the room was perfectly clean, the bed and cushions are amazing as usual and for those who like to enjoy TV, the screen size is huge. I always enjoy the complimentary non-alcoolised drinks in the mini bar and the coffee/tea in the room. Breakfast is amazing. It's worth waking up a bit early to enjoy a sunrise on Lyon from the amazing 270° view that offers the restaurant on the 8th floor. And the variety of the breakfast buffet is just perfect. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends.

We appreciated being upgraded and how the staff e.g. front desk and the concierge provided assistance. The breakfast was way overpriced. The shower door in our room did not close properly and overall the hotel can use some renovation.....that being said great location and service

« Pretty Bad »

Was in Lyon on business. Saw Sofitel and good location. Booked it. Big mistake. Assumed Sofitel cared about its flagship brand the most in their own Country. Apparently the hotel is going through a long term renovation (floor by floor/room by room) as and when they have the budget to do so. The renovated rooms are average at best. The un-renovated rooms are atrocious! Really, just disgusting. I had many carpet stains on the floor. Mold on the ceiling. The bathroom was musty. I insisted on changing rooms, luckily there was an updated one. Had I not, I simply would have left. Sleeping at a youth hostile might have been better...
