Good hotel fantastic location. River view room well worth it. Breakfast good in stunning high location with beautiful views though a bit pricey. We were given a room which had none of our preferences but they apologised and changed our room immediately. Staff friendly and helpful.

« Great Hotel in a great location »

We had a great time at the hotel. Staff were very friendly. Underground parking a huge bonus. The Silk Restaurant very handy being in sight. Super quiet room on the 2nd floor overlooking the river. Best of all the location was right where you need to be.

We booked 2 rooms on river view. Obtained good price and free breakfast when booking through Accor hotels. Nice rooms , some furniture need to be renewed though being a 5 star hotel. Breakfast was excellent. Room service staff responded very quickly to our requests. Enjoyed a few drinks at the bar. There also service was excellent

« An excellent journey »

Room was upgraded to a Rhone-view corner room, magnificent scene out of the window. The bar at 8th floor has also great view and reminded me the best time i had in Lyon several years ago. Reception helped us found a table in 1 etoile restaurant at the last moment for Xmas eve, and even removed our parking fee just because at the moment they can not help us drive the car out. The service is really thoughtful, and thank you for giving me a very comfortable stay during Xmas. Merci et a bientot.

When we first arrive at the Sofitel in a cab with 2 big bags the doorman looked at us from inside without even saying hello neither did he offer to help with the bag at the reception. We were then given a room where the heater was not working. After sometimes we were then move to an other floor with a better room. The all hotel had only one operating lift so we were forced to wait and wait for it every time. When the lift finally came we had to squeeze in with a lot of other people. There were some work going on in the hotel and therefore it was not as quiet as someone would like! Overall the room service staff can barely speak French! We also then went ahead and bought a package to watch movie which never worked however we were not charged for that. I am quiet surprise of the standard of the hotel as most of the time Sofitel are quiet nice. I will definetly not go back to Sofitel Lyon Bellecour.

Also, we informed our technical department to resolve issues regarding the heating and the TV. We also took good note of your comment regarding the elevators. In fact we are renovating them for guests' comfort and we apologize for the inconveniences caused. Also, we shared your comment to the Front Office Manager regarding the way we welcomed you on your arrival. This is in fact not in the standards of the Sofitel. Everything was very good - rooms were comfortable and staff were most helpful. Some confusion with your Accor central reservations centre who I booked with as they said in an email that I had paid them for the 2 rooms I booked and there would be no charge at the hotel - other than for extra - but it that didn't happen and I had to pay the full bill on departure. Not a big problem but just a bit confusing as I have e-mails saying payment was taken in November when I booked but it wasn't

« Great hotel, perfect area, courteous and helpful staff. »

New to the city, my stay was exceptional. Very clean room, great service and loved the water and candy by the bedside. The bathroom was large and the shower was delightful. All the amenities were well thought out. The bed was very comfortable. I did get room service a few times, and it was prompt and delicious. The hotel was working on the elevators, I did not hear any noise and I was in my room for most of one day due to the rain. There was never an issue with getting an elevator as there were always 2 of the 3 working. I would definitely stay again.

« I have expected better for the price »

Everything was nice and fine, except the condition of the room. For the price, I expected a nice and renovated room, as it was shown on the pictures of the hotel. Instead, I got a room which might not be renovated since the 90's. Abrasion, scratches were visible everywhere, the carpet had some signs of stain. Overall: not satisfied and a bit disappointed for the price I spent on it. However, the staff was perfect, professional, and very nice.

i had one problem. when i checked in after an overnight flight, i was told that my second reservation for three nights did not include breakfast. (i had not booked it for the first night). i had to show my confirming email and speak to two staff members before that was sorted out. no apology was forthcoming. i offered an opening for an apology to the guest relations manager by asking how this could have happened. he just said “there are many different rates”. i would have felt much better if the word “sorry” had been offered. i contrast this to a stay in paris last march, not an accor hotel, where the manager phoned me later to say that for all my future stays, breakfast would be included at no charge. indeed, in your hotel, when i was overcharged 7 euros at lunch in silk brasserie, it was corrected and “sorry” was said.
