We had a good stay and the staff very friendly but the rooms are completely outdated and the salads in the Bistro need a lot better quality

« Comfort from the 60´s and service non existing... »

The kind of experience that makes you decide you will NEVER go back to a sofitel in your entire life: old rooms beds noisy andso uncomfortable we would have prefered to sleep on the floor, service non existing.... i could write a book so i ll stop there.

« Modern hotel in great location »

Wonderful stay in a great location just minutes from Bellecour Square. Bed was very comfortable and room had a very nice bathroom. Bottled water was provided daily. Hotel staff were very helpful with maps and dinner recommendations.

« a convenient stop-over en route to UK »

This was a return visit and I think the public areas of the hotel are lovely. We particularly enjoy dining in Les Trois Domes restaurant, which is a main reason for us choosing the hotel. I do however feel the bedrooms and bathrooms, while completely functional, are in desperate need of a refurbishment.

« Poor standard for a 5* hotel »

The standard is not comparable with other Sofitel establishments nor other 5* hotels. My husband & I are frequent customers in 5* hotels & we will not be returning to this one. Although we come to Lyon regularly. It is a great shame that the management has not realized how badly this hotel rates against others.

Our stay at the Sofitel Lyon Bellecour was mostly wonderful. My only criticism is that the hotel does not offer its guests a kettle and some herbal tea. A nice hot herbal tea just before going to bed is a perfect way to end a busy day. It relaxes and contributes to a good night sleep. Without a kettle in the room this was not possible and that slightly marred my otherwise enjoyable stay.

« Perfect location with great service »

Absolutely loved my first visit to Lyon. The hotel os in such a great location, it’s easy to walk to all the sights. My room was well appointed, clean and well maintained. Very little noise throughout my stay and the air conditioning worked well and was fairly quiet. Service from all the staff was really good. I eat in the Silk Brasserie a few times and it had a good menu with nightly. Arakations and was very reasonable. The absolute highlight was my dinner in the hotel’s Michelin started restaurant Les Trois Domes. Impeccable service combined with sublime food and wonderful views.

The service during our stay at Hotel Sofitel Bellecour was excellent. The rooms were clean and comfortable. When we had issues with our rental car, the Concierge staff, (day and night shift) were extremely helpful and assisted us in contacting the rental service. When the car had to be returned, the Concierge made train reservations so we could make it to Paris. Both gentlemen were professional on the phone and kept us calm while we waited. We will stay at this hotel on our next trip to Lyon.

The hotel is a little dated, but the staff is top notch. I was only there for one night. Had fish and chips in Silk - yum. Love the automated blinds, but I would consider adding a note to customers that they are automated and where the button is (google Sofitel and automated blinds - funny!). View for breakfast is lovely - breakfast buffet is good, a little bit of everything. But i really like the kind, professional staff.

« Love the view from the 8th Floor »

We enjoyed our stay, the view from the 8th floor at breakfast was lovely. The room was good but somewhat 'tired', the armchair needs to be replaced be something more practical, such as a armchair covered in a textile. My wife found the armchair very uncomfortable, a receptionist found a cushion to help. Another problem my wife had was that the bath towels were very high. All the staff we met were very professional and welcoming, this includes reception, breakfast and silk brasserie staff. On Wednesdays a keyboard player singer is out on the terrace and we both thought he was very good and perhaps this could be done every night.

The room is quite small compared to the rate I have paid for another hotel. The guest room amenities did not fill up everyday. The power socket was quite limited. The only satisfaction was the service and staffs. However, two of my friends stayed in different rooms got cash stolen while they left the wallets in the room. Overall, I would have to stay I was disappointed as this is Sofitel.

« An excellent Sofitel in a great location »

Rooms on 7th floor a bit tired and have shower in the bath which is potentially dangerous for people of our age. Your very helpful deputy manager arranged to move us for the other 2 days to a room on the 3rd floor with a walk-in shower which was much more what we expect from a Sofitel. Otherwise staff very helpful and polite and we ate in the 3 Domes and the Brasserie, both of which were excellent. We will no doubt be back!
