« Comfortable hotel in a wonderful central location »

While its architecture may be out of step with the many of the surrounding buildings, the Sofitel Lyon Bellecour more that makes up for this minor defect by being in such a great location for exploring the beautiful city of Lyon. The staff were helpful and friendly and the rooms well appointed and clean. The breakfasts were both varied and ample, while a dinner in the Les Trois Domes Restaurant is a culinary experience well worth experiencing, especially as the sun sets over the city and the Rhone.

Our room was not ready for us at 4pm. We waited 45 minutes to get our key! The clerk who checked us in gave us no information on any services. The couple checking in next to us was welcomed warmly and given info on many services. The bed and bathroom were nice but the floor was uneven. Bumps everywhere and a ramp outside the bathroom. I expected much better, and given that it took us so much time to get our room in the first place, we were not going to ask for another. The concierge was very helpful, and the location excellent.

The hotel on first impression was nice, but as the days went by not so good Tv Limited, rooms tired, and information poor , breakfast in room poorly served Hotel staff polite but assumed guest knew all about facilities of the hotel

My wife and I enjoyed our stay. The location was good. The staff were excellent. Breakfasts were good and dinner in the restaurant at the top of the hotel first class. One minor criticism is that the room looked rather dated and could be redecorated. For example, there were stains on the carpet.

Normally, I have no issue. I book for the day before in order to have my room ready at 9 AM --SO I AM PAYING FOR AN EXTRA DAY. When I got to the desk, the clerk ( I believe she was Spanish) immediately told me I could not check in. When I tried to explain, she told me it didn't matter. Eventually she asked a manager for help. I don't know if its because I am female or look young to check in, but it was NOT PLEASANT. Same clerk told me at check out that she will email my bill to me--I never got it, so my admin had to follow up
