An excellent hotel in a convenient location in the centre of Lyon. Spacious rooms and helpful staff. The only drawback was the hairdryer in the room: it had no power at all. I would expect a 5 star hotel to have proper hairdryers in their rooms...

Friendly staff and good location. The room was somewhat dated and the same were some areas of the hotel. Trying to be environmental friendly and reuse the towels, it is unfortunate that the staff does not follow the guidelines for this.

« Mold in the bathroom »

This is an old hotel with old equipment and old sealing in the bathroom. Yet the Hermes body&hear cleaning products look luxurious with Sofitel labelled amenity products (emery board etc.), but it seemed just appearance without a real quality indeed. I honestly preferred another hotel in old town of Lyon (5 stars) with real quality and authenticity.

« Great location and beautiful views »

This hotel is very conveniently located near place bellecour and most places a visitor wants to go. The room was nice but the best thing about this hotel are the striking views from the hotel bar. Go in the daytime, sunset or night to see Lyon. The staff were helpful and friendly. The only downside was the lack of WiFi. It was too slow to check email.

i put 10 because I had a challenge in my room 119, when somebody from the higher floor was using the toilets, i felt like he was in my room and after i had during 30min the noise of the water... but when i explain during my check out, your employe takes care of me and take action to change it ! and she offer my parking ...nice

Extremely pleasant and excellent staff who were exceptionally helpful. I was visiting during the transport strike and they were able to extend my stay and accomodate my needs. I also appreciate the mini bar with the free drinks and not being cluttered with heaps of drinks and alcoholic drinks.

I was a bit disappointed by my stay. The staff was great but the room was very tiny, the hall was smelling very bad and the iron burnt my shirt which is now damaged.

« Architectural gem in the capital of Gastronomy »

Excellent welcome from vallet parking to check-in. Well kept classic rooms. We were given a corner room, ask for this, its very nice. Breakfast is an excperience of its own, served on the 8:th floor with amazing views of Lyon, a bit rude service though. Only downside was the express checkout, its was fast and swift but they overcharged me on a few items.

I am a returned guest as I stayed at this hotel last 3 years. It was very good in 2015. I booked and stayed this time for 5 days 4 nights at room include breakfast rate plan. Unfortunately the hotel has renovation project but I was not informed via email before arrival as same as I got from the other 3 hotels during this trip. I got all acknowledgement emails on what I have noticed and requested from the other hotels. The first morning, I was waken up by the water flush's noise from the above floor. I informed staff. He said I am very sorry. I will inform my colleague to stop doing it. However it was happened 4-5 times a day from the morning at about 8.50-9.20 am. to afternoon. The second noise is from renovation, which I got a message from the Front Office staff to say sorry with a written note that it is the renovation project. The hotel is old and they need to renovate. I can not work in the room because it was too noisy. Staff gave me 2 sets of ear plug. I can not wear them for the whole stay.... The third disappointment was the front office who checked me in on Saturday 10th March in the evening....presenting me that if you would like to have breakfast then you could have it here at Euro 26 nett per person with variety choices of food. I was too tried from travelling from Berlin so I could not remember well that I have booked a room included breakfast. (I was error also) In fact, the staff should see my reservation then reconfirm my reservation, which is inclusive of breakfast so you can enjoy your breakfast here at the restaurant.... However, on my function day, the GM apologized to me about noise disturbance. The GM said it is because of hot water pressure so this is the last minute plan. The hotel did not plan this renovation before. What's about the renovation noises?? We all 35 to 40 persons, who stayed in this hotel can be the witness as they also complained. I think this is not really fair for me!

« Best hotel staff in France ! Extremely efficient »

The staff at Sofitel Lyon is always making my stays very special. They pay attention to details and remain efficient over the years. The whole team makes people feel like home. Special thanks to Yuki and Olivia. The quality and variety of choices for breakfast at 3 domes was cut down when compared to my last stays. That is a bit regrettable without being an issue at all.
