Returned after staying 2 years ago, rooms look amazing, loved the massive TV, big fluffy towels and the pool area still is my favourite. We did request connecting rooms (split 4 kids with us and grandparents so having to leave the room to organise / see each other wasn’t ideal but we made it work. I do appreciate that my request for a ground floor room impacted that. Ruby at the tour desk was amazing and knew about everything!

We had a lovely stay, the pool was great for little kids and being able to sit outside by the pool and eat dinner was perfect. A couple of improvements would be: - a clothes drying frame in the room - we had wet swimmers and boardies that we needed dry. - more choice on the bar food menu - by day 3 we were a bit bored with it. - curtains in the room let too much light in around the edges.

Woke up the first morning to find a large cockroach running around in my room. I reported the creature to reception that morning and told reception where it was hiding and they stated that they would attend to the creature. I woke up the second morning to find the same cockroach still running around my room so I had no choice but to deal with the matter myself!! Not nice for an establishment of this nature.

Our stay was relaxing and lovely the only downfall was housekeeping didn’t on one occasion restock the room with tea , milk and never took the dirty dishes from previous nights dinner.

I stayed in a refurbished room and I like the refurbishment except for the shower. I don't know if there is anything that can be done but the pressure is hopeless and that particular design is not what I would have expected from a Novotel level of hotel. One safety issue is that the tiles in the shower were very slippery once soapy water was on them so a frail person may be in danger as there is nothing to grab onto in the shower now either. Otherwise everything else about the room and the stay was great.

In April 2019 i booked a week stay at The Novotel for the first week in October 2019. It was to celebrate my birthday and our 40th anniversary that week. After arriving at the hotel at approx. 9.30am on a flight from the Gold Coast we were told that our room was on the 3rd floor. We were hoping for an early check in but understood as it was the school holidays this may not have been possible. During check in it would have been nice to have been told where breakfast was and times etc. However, our room was ready at 12.30ish. It was on the ground floor and we were surprised that our room was a 'disabled' room with an open shower with a curtain and large bench seat that pulled down from the wall and high toilet seat with no lid! Considering my booking had been made 6 months prior It would have bee nice to have had a higher floor and a view of the pool instead of the shops across the main road! Breakfast was great plenty of choice and variety. We ate dinner one night in Moku Bar and had the steak and chips special, the food was Ok. The pool area looked lovely, the sunbeds are occupied early and it was difficult to find 2 empty ones. It was a very nice gesture from the hotel I received a piece of cake and Happy Birthday piped on the plate and also a card and bottle of wine for our anniversary. Thank you Novotel. Overall our stay was pleasant, the staff were friendly and helpful.

All good. Except No information in the room about the hotel amenities and services. no brochure or hotel book. Phone doesnt have service contact no list or even the reception no...we couldnt figure out what no. to call coz couldnt find any information in the room...so have to go all the way down to reception to ask or request something.

Our stay at Novotel Cairns was nothing to rave about. We checked in early as we arrived early and then went and walked around until 2pm, we then headed back to the hotel and our room was not ready. We did get changed into a different room which was fine. For the amount of money paid for the room I would of expected a decent sized fridge (bar fridge) and some snacks in the fridge (they don't cost ALOT), better decore in the room, the room was very plain and boring with cheap looking furniture. There was cracks in the wall, lights switches very dodgy, sparking at us while turning them on. Our room was cleaned and a cup of tea that I had left there to drink had been tipped out, we had only been out for 10mins which I thought was a bit wrong they should of left it there, not worrying about the cleaning just ripping out the cup of tea. Not enough car parks and told that we would have to park on the street and that we would need to pay for it.

I thought we were staying in a 4.5 star hotel but our rooms were the ones that hadn't been renovated and I felt we were misled. The staff were fantastic and the beds were also good.
