We were not told that the hotel was having an upgrade as I would not have stayed there.The room was clean but everything was tired.Walk ways to the lifts have not been cleaned for a long time.As an Accor client only 1 bottle of water was left for 2 people.Other Accor hotels always give 2.

I have stayed at the hotel many times before over the years , I have always seen your rates as reasonable however the food way pretty ordinary then the food improved considerable. This time I booked direct with the hotel and as a returning customer I could not even negotiate a better deal I stayed 4 nights at a rate of approx 207$ a night . No one mentioned the fact that for all intense and purposes you restaurant was non existing . The pool area was poor as far as the food went. I understand you are renovating however at least your sales person should have said something when I booked. I was disappointed with the stay . I will be back in Cairns in the future months and want to stay at the hotel so I would like at least know the situation when I booked . Sorry to complain however you asked the question.

Staying at the Oasis was a lovely experience. We will be returning. Facility’s and amenities were perfectly fine. Clean and well presented. Beds were fantastic. Pillows were soft and comfortable. There was evidence of a renovation being done, however it had NO impact on my family at all. Staff were lovely. Only gripe we did have was the breakfast was a bit boring... Maybe a feature dish daily would change it up?

I was disappointing with the service at check-in, I arrived at 12 noon, and had advised this when I booked. I was told that you were busy with group bookings and my rooms would be ready about 3. I was not offered to have my bag stored, nor given direction to where I could put myself for the next 3 hours. I found my check-in lady uninterested in me as a customer.

I know renovations are occurring at the moment but the gym is terrible, my particular room was terrible with a view into the side of an adjacent building. Room itself was ageing. No free wi-fi. Also, being sent to another "wing" of the building for such a poor room makes you feel like a second class citizen. Room smelt of mildew. Bed was fine. Bathroom was fine. Bad look to charge full rate for a room like this with renovations occurring.

We arrived to find the resort under renovations, and a monstrous construction happening next door (right outside our window). From 6am the construction next door started, waking our kids and meaning workers could see right into our rooms. Thankfully when we complained we were moved to the other side of the resort, but it would have been nice if the renovation works happening within the resort had been communicated to us upon booking. Eating options at the resort were limited, and the buffet breakfast was sub par. I think the rooms need to be updated (particularly the bathrooms). There was a constant lack of towels at the pool, which is hard to deal with when you have young kids. And once when I went to the pool bar to ask about towels, the two staff there ignored me for over 5 minutes, and when they finally acknowledged me, they were snappy and rude, and told me to go up to my room and get the bath towels from there if I wanted to use the pool. On the plus side, it was central to everything we wanted to do in cairns, which meant we didn’t have to get in the car too often, and apart from the pool bar staff, the other staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the good didn’t really outweigh the bad, and even once the renovations are finished, I’m not sure I would stay here again.

The hotel next door does unfortunately have council permission to start at 6am, we are trying to work with the council to have the hours reduced. We have advertised our renovations on our website, online booking sites and also through social media so I am sorry that you were not advised. As you noticed, we are currently refurbishing our Restaurant, Bar and Kitchen and will move onto our rooms shortly. During School Holidays the Pool Towels seem to disappear and run out very quickly so we are stocking up our par levels even more fr the next round of holidays, but I apologise for how our Bar Staff spoke to you, please rest assured that this will be address with our staff members. Staff were helpfull and friendly, facilities outside of the rooms were great but the rooms are run down and need alot of maintenance to bring them up to a level which is inline with what is charged to stay there. The first room we stayed in had an old mattress which was very worn, the pillows were lumpy, the sofa bed supplied for the kids caved in into the middle and the mattress was also worn with the springs being felt. The kids ended up sleeping on the floor one night, the glass shower door could barely be opened as it was hitting the tiles at the bottom, the fan in the bathroom which runs all the time was noisy at night, the curtains would not close properly letting alot of light in, in the morning. We found tiny bugs in kitchen and bathrooom and a large cockroach in our room. The manager placed us in another room with the same issues with the beds and sofa bed, one of the a/c barely worked and was noisy, balcony door lock was broken, bathroom handle and dead lock were broken ( my son got locked in first time he locked the door), sliding doors separating bedroom with lounge could barely be moved due to worn tracks, curtains were also crap, again had tiny bugs in bathroom and kitchen, on one occasion when our room was to be made up, all that was done was restocking of shampoo etc, beds were not made up and towels not replaced. Pool area would often be out of towels for quite some time. It would have been handy if a clothes drying rack was supplied with some pegs to dry bathers on the balcony. We are not people to normally complain about things and did not even bother to complain about our second room as we thought things would be very unlikely to improve. We were not even offered any compensation for our experience. Compared with other hotels and resorts we have stayed in around Australia and overseas, this would have to be the worst we have stayed in.

Great staff, pool in need of repair, large chunks of pebble missing on pool floor. Rooms are tired, great TV, carpets, general look of the place is it is ready for refurb. Was under renovation in restaurant etc so bit of general disruption that cannot be helped.

Counter staff too busy to provide a smile or friendly service, room was stuffy and did not have a ceiling fan. Had to wait too long to be served at pool bar, I had to prompt staff to aknowledge me twice. Bar looks pool kitchen and bar area looks very untidy and unorganized which showed how the staff operated. Not enough staff they were too busy to provide good service. ROOM was not as expected.
