Stayed for 2 nights at Novotel Cairns. Staff and facilities were adequate and good. Nice swimming pool that was enjoyed especially by the kids. Food options were limited but good. Hotel is located in close proximity to the Esplanade, City Bus Station, walking distance of train station and close to convenience stores. Enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend the property to others.

Stay was OK. Rooms are very tired and dated. Beds and pillows very very uncomfortable. if we had not paid for one nights accommodation on 3rd August 2018 we would not be back.

Very enjoyable stay. The Hotel room was clean comfortable and spacious. Hotel staff polite, friendly and very helpful. Hotel location excellent right next to bus station and short walk to shops and amenities. Renovations being carried out but could hardly hear anything! Excellently managed. The big pool in the centre wonderful to look at. Totally recommend this hotel to someone else and would love to staff there again when renovations completed.

« We chose Novotel to extend our stay in Cairns »

We arrived in Cairns on an organised tour which terminated at a different hotel. To extend our stay a few more days we elected the Novotel Oasis Resort which is located close to the CBD and is a convenient start point for day tours. Our room was clean and comfortable and the staff we met were all friendly and helpful. We will happily stay there if we visit Cairns again and would definitely recommend it to our friends and relatives.

Noisy ,unpleasant.I sent an email to the hotel after being notified of renovations to ask how it would impact on my stay ,but i got no reply,i also did not know about the industrial work going on all around the hotel.

Check in went well however the key did not work to get into the room so I had to go down and get this checked. Apparently there had been some issues with the door (identified by housekeeping). Maintenance was sent up to fix it - took about 10 minutes. Luckily housekeeping were able to get us into the room. After fixing the door there were no further problems. The room was comfortable. Good facilities. I requested a late check out the next day and this was provided with no issues. The breakfast was great, especially as it was purchased under the $1 deal. Check out was a little slow but it was busy. Wi-Fi in the hotel was ordinary. The renovations were really noisy - particularly in the reception area.

When we checked in the reception staff could not find our booking. This took a while to sort out. It was lucky I had printed out the booking confirmation. The hotel information stated that newspapers were free in the hotel lobby but the only one we could see was the China Daily. On both of our full days at the hotel we had to leave the room in the afternoon so it could be serviced. We had been out all morning on both days. There was no 'Please make up my room' sign in our room to put on the door - not sure if this would have made any difference. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable but the pillows were poor quality. There was nowhere comfortable to sit in the room.

Our in-house guest rooms are normally serviced in the afternoon so our Housekeeping Team can clean the arrivals for that day first, but we sure do take requests if you wanted an earlier clean. Stayed in double room 119 - Bed was too soft - Poor sound proofing with carpet and doors, could hear all the noise and chatter loudly of people walking past. - Bathroom fan did not work so the bathroom and mirror steams up with showers - Poor lighting in the room, made it difficult at night time to do any work - Didn't get any mini bar service, and the coffee supply was not replenished on one of the days after housekeeping Very disappointed overall

Check in was really slow. Our room was not in the system as completed even though we were checking in at 5.30 pm. It took a while to get this confirmed. Fortunately the car parking fee was waived for the night which was appreciated. The room was comfortable. Good facilities. We stayed in room 460 and the TV was terrible. Every time you changed the channel the noise from the TV was very loud, even if the volume was turned down. The breakfast was great, especially as it was purchased under the $1 deal. Check out was efficient. Wi-Fi in the hotel was ordinary. The renovations were really noisy - particularly in the reception area.

« Undergoing renovations, oh and next doors a building site too. »

When we arrived we found the hotel had just started major Reno's, apparently there was a note on the website, but I booked on the app I didn't get to see that. The works at the hotel started at a reasonable time but the site next door starts at 6am and before on Saturday, which is beyond the hotels control. This new building will spoil the views from some of the rooms. On the posativp side, the location is good and the staff were trying to help, but as an accor club gold member I would have thought an email warning of the works would have been nice from the manager.
