I found my experience was just fine evan with the renovations that were going on. I was also kept informed on the day of the power outage evan when it went 2 hours past the due time for it to be restored. Special mention for Ryan who looked after me at the bar while I completed my paper work for the day and also supplying me with an amassing cocktail to try. I intend to return in Jan 2019 as I have business in Cairns every three week 1 being a 2 night stay and the other being 4 night stay. I'm also an LE Club Accor Hotels Platinum

« Sweet short stop »

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. We stopped only for the one night on our way home to Melbourne from Japan. Our flight landed around 5am in Cairns, so we were so happy to be able to check into our room by 8am, even a little earlier thanks to the kind receptionist. We could enjoy a well earned rest in a very comfortable bed, the location was so central to all that we needed, and we had a refreshing swim in the pool. Although the downstairs renovations were a little restrictive, we are looking forward to returning when all is complete.

I was only in Cairns for one night and as I as alone I just wanted a comfy bed for the night. My standard king room was ideal. A king sized bed, pillows that I could sleep on, a bath in the bathroom and a little balcony all made for a happy stay. I slept well, enjoyed a bath at night and a shower in the morning and was happy with the facilities. I dined in the hotel restaurant and returned for breakfast and all my meals were tasty. The pool and gym facilities are also a bonus. I’d happily stay at this hotel again.

Pool was enjoyable; good to see bar open past 5 pm, especially in summer, though only because of renovations; believe should be open later in summer months all the time; AC seemed a lot better this stay so was happy with that; didn't eat at restaurant this time due to renos. but good Chinese across road opp. aquarium .. bed very comfy and clean

We stayed in a Superior suite and due to the high cost we expected alot more. The Austar Channels on the TV's were not working. The staff in the restaurant were not very accomodating to fit us in for breakfast.

Room is nice enough but overpriced for what it is and considering the extensive building works currently underway, which are noisy and disruptive and do not present the hotel well for return visits. Also for the current lack of restaurant facilities which give cause to eat elsewhere

We were initially offered a room facing a building site despite paying for a mountain view room on wotif.com. Our only other option was to pay extra $108 for a pool view room which we agreed to. Pool view room was full of ants, house keeping came with a can of insect spray and said "this is what its like in the tropics, welcome to the tropics". Weird thing to say really, we are Darwin natives and do not have ant problems back home. The resort needs to call a pest company asap because a nest that size needs dealing with. Room smelt musty also. Next room was amazing, smelt fresh and no ants, happy at last! Reception and hospitality staff were all accommodating and lovely. Lady on tour desk was knowledgeable, offered terrific advice and we loved the tour she booked for us. Quality and variety of food on offer for breakfast was average at best. Pool was filthy 3 days in a row, had not been vacuumed and we removed dead birds from pool 2 mornings in a row. Overall we had a great break, family friendly resort and a great location. Thanks again!
