The hotel entrance and location was fine but the bedroom unfortunately unhygienic. The bed mattress is old and very dirty; the carpet is extremely dirty. Very shocking and disappointing for a Accor hotel Novotel. The cleaning lady threw in front of me all the pillows on the dirty carpet and she put them back on bed after arranging the bed. Moreover, the cleaning staff were not wearing any uniforms, thus no idea who knocks at your door or who walks on the floors. The air-conditioning was defect and despite my few requests to fix it, they never did anything. I had to show-up at the reception desk on the third (last) day before they made a note. An engineer finally came and fix it, this was few hours before I left. I sent an email the very first day I arrived and never got a reply. I asked for a refund for the coming (not yet consumed) nights which was denied. I asked to be transferred to another Accor hotel (Pullman or Sofitel) and I will pay the difference, which was again denied. They said I could leave without getting a refund and I was to pay the full tariff elsewhere. I barely slept there. I was told by the reception to meet with the director but never got a follow-up to meet with him. My flight had a delay and I asked to extend my check-out for 4 additional hours since I kept my luggage there; and I was charged extra half-day-tariff. All-in-all this was the first time I had such a poor and sad experience at an Accor Hotel. Hope Novotel Dakar upgrade it standard soon and become worthy of a Accor Hotel.

« Well I got bed bugs all over my legs arms; the room safe didn't work, etc »

On arrival I asked for a sea view room I had booked but was told none available - after insistence they gave me one on a corner with a cubby hole over the port; I notice the safe was broken and could not be fixed and had to be moved to a non-sea view room; they told they would move me to a nice seaview room the next day but no one came back to me the whole week, in interim I got bed bugs all over my body so after one week I decided to move to the Terrou Bi where at the same price the quality is 100% better. I doubt I will return to the Novotel - rooms are functional but very Spartan and derelict. Not worth the money.

Staying at Novotel was great nice vibe at the Bar downstairs nice music and performance from the artist. Just one thing is that the room service is a bit slow and forgetful. I requested to iron my shirt but none has made the effort to help I ended ironing by myself while I had to go for a meeting. but Side that Novotel great place to Stay in Dakar I will recommend my friends and colleagues.

Overall, the stay was pleasant and served it's function. The staff was eager to please, although they seemed to be multitasking at the reception desk which seemed confusing and/or inefficient. The credit card machine and/or network used was not reliable for the needed transactions, but the resourceful staff member figured out a workaround for payment. I also had an early checkout (5am) and mentioned it to reception staff, and an offer of packed breakfast or coffee was made but no arrangements were actually executed. Again, overall, I enjoyed the stay, I am merely pointing out the areas for improvement.

« Good, but still lot of things to be improved »

Was a good staying, but there are some points that were not so satisfyng, such as the pillows, the cleaning, especially the fitted carpet and the comun areas, breakfast zone and outside area. Aslo the table service is slow. The rooms should have ironing board and bathrobe. The wifi at certain hours does not work very well. Still, the employes are gentle and the food pretty good. The price is fair enought.

This doesn't feel like a 4-star hotel but more like a 3-star one. Hotel is showing its age which is not necessarily a problem but carpet in both room and corridor was severely stained and the low bed creeks a LOT. Outdoor space is nice and having live music was great. Breakfast was excellent except when the coffee machine ran our of milk and it took a long time for somebody to bring more.

Food choices not always available at breakfast and dinner. Carpet dirty. Curtains don't close properly. Offer to gold card members uninteresting / stingy. No more shuttle to airport. Will probably change hotel next time.

« Very good service, good dining and nice lobby, but the rooms are old and worn. »

The personnel in reception were very helpful and accommodating. The dining experience in the evening was pleasant and the breakfast had a good selection of food. The lobby, dining area, and outdoor patio was clean and contemporary. However, the guest room needs refurbishing as the carpet was worn, air conditioning poor, and furnishing outdated.

i can judge the whole experience as correct overall, there are some points to improve like the chamber carpet which is looking a bit not clean and also smells wet, avoid some organisation issues, like when we just get into the hotel we were asked to re enter our information even that we already did the online check in and confirmed earlier by phone, we supposed to just get and have the keys, what i liked overall is the quality and kindness of your employees, and quality of the food served, thank you Anas S.

The hotel is old, dirty moquette on the floor, poor quality breakfast. The bill that was presented to me was higher than supposed to be. I had to insist with the personnel to double-Check the bill and finally I was right. The bed was old and making noise at every move. I don’t advice this hotel.
