Great service and friendly staff. Check in desk and Bell person are so polite and helpful! Unfortunately the rooms and the breakfast do not mirror the great service. Rooms are old and need upgrades. Amenity very poor compared to hotel at similar room rates. I had to pay for mt Toothbrush!!! First time in my 50 years of world traveling!

« An Enjoyable Stay with Highly Professional Staff »

The Novotel Ambassador Seoul Doksan was a pleasant hotel but showing signs of age. Our Club Room which was located on the Prestige Floor and included kitchen facilities and a washing machine, was large and comfortable but dreary and in need of renovation. For example, our shower leaked badly and the washing machine was extraordinarily slow. The location is not particularly interesting or convenient. The staff however was most professional. Friendly and helpful, they went to no end of trouble to make our stay comfortable and memorable. We would particularly like to acknowledge the very professional assistance of Concierge Dave and Front Desk Officer Hayley.

Overall my stay at Novotel Ambassador Doksan was very plesant and comfortable. Front desk reception and concierge staff were very friendly, accomodationg and always endeavoured to provide relevant information. Buffet breakfast was impressive with a good choice spread and excellent Korean traditional delicacies. Location was ideal for my needs with easy access to public transportation.

Front desk and concierge service is friendly, english speaking and efficient. Rooms are old style but clean. Bed is comfortable. Breakfast is standard, restaurant food in the evening (Western Style) is not really too recommendable.

Second time in less than two weeks I have stayed at the hotel. Check in / Check out was great as usual. Room okay. Used the restaurant for breakfast. You really need to get larger cups/mugs for tea/coffee. I live in North America and a small coffee here is larger than the size of you cups. I normally drink and XL/Venti so cup was really small. Not sure why but I was told I wasnt allowed to use the slippers from the room to go into the restaurant.......seems strange as I had shorts and a t-shirt on. Will probably use the hotel next time so please try and get some larger cups/mugs. David

Staff are friendly and polite. Location is far from Seoul, though. However, shops and other amenities are all closely around including Home Smart. May need to prepare private transport beforehand as the public transport system may not be as extensive as in Seoul.

And also we are operating a courtesy Shuttle Bus several times a day between hotel and 3 subway stations for the guests’ convenience. One is Guro Digital complex station (Line#2) and others are Gasan Digital Complex station (Line#1 and 7) and Doksan Station (Line#1) we expect that this shuttle bus can be helpful for our guests. We look forward nice stay, but it was ruined by my son's sickness & cold. Just had a calm stay for at the end of year. Breakfast was hectic at egg station, so many people waiting & order was not smooth.

In the past I have stayed closer to Gangnam but for business reasons chose Doksan area. Hotel rooms a bit 'tired' but ery clean and the hotel service excellent. I loved the facilities, very good pool and great for a morning or end of day swim, decent sized pool and a nice cafe area adjacent to the leisure facilities. Hotel has a shuttle bus to the MTR Line 2 which I needed, just ensure when you return you know which local bus to catch as taxi's do not want your business in rush hour - journey too short. I will stay here again.

All room appliances are in extraordinary neat condition. The service that offers the staff is simply perfect! You will experience every time a very warm welcome and every staff will take care about you. The fitness center is very good equipped, all the gym equipment is very good maintained. Up to sport shoes you do not need any sport clothes, it will all offered. The same is in the sauna area. The breakfast you can enjoy a western or Korean style, they offer an abundant selection of food. I usually stay in this hotel when I am on business trip in Seoul, and I was never disappointed so far.

« Good Hotel Stay at Southern Part of Seoul »

The Novotel at Doksan is in a good location for exploring attractions on the southern part of Seoul (Suwon etc) as the Airport Bus stops at a bus stop very near to hotel. Staff are helpful and courteous and able to communicate in English. Interior of the room is rather dated but okay. Room size is good, with 2-seater sofa provided. Home Plus Supermarket and Daiso is just across the street and there are many convenience stores nearby. A food street is just 2 blocks away with hundred of F&B outlets offering all sorts of Korean food at very reasonable pricing. Doksan Station is approx. 10 to 15 mins walk from hotel and the hotel provides free shuttles between 8am to noon. Would be good if this shuttle service can be provided on hourly or 2-hourly basis and also to pick up hotel guests that are coming back from the subway station, similar to those provided at Pullman near Dongdaemun.
