« It met my needs. »

Some refurbishment in the hall of my story caused trouble with the elevators. Noise from the hall could also be heard in the room.

« Good but not environmentally friendly »

Plastic cups in room and bathroom could be replaced by glass; small shower gel and shampoo plastic bottles could be replaced by big containers/distributors that can easily be refilled (using less plastics); towels were changed overnight although they were properly hanged on the bathroom door... Much efforts to be done on environmental policies!!!

Room is okay.. Lot of stuff like Body cream was not there. Lifts are just crap. I don't know how they are configured.

Room, breakfast and service were good. The elevators are not dimensioned for conferences, when more than 50 people were going to their room during a 15 min break - it took 20 min to get an elevator. And the door from the stairs was locked so that was not an option either...

« Nice hotel and good welcome of guests at arrival but bathroom not perfectly clean »

The bathroom was not perfectly clean. There was some long brown hairs remaining on the floor and in the bath as well as beauty products stains on the sink and toilet cover. It would be nice also to offer hot chocolate at the restaurant for breakfast (I could only find coffee, cappuccino and tea). Regarding the meeting at business center, there wasn't enough food at buffet lunch.

I think the facilities were nice, clean, restaurant very good. For the purpose of my trip it was very well located. Even if I wanted to go to the city, the train station was close.

I stayed in the Novotel from Saturday 17th - Tuesday 20th November for a long weekend away for my friends birthday. I am an accor employee (Receptionist Ibis Gatwick Hotel) and from start to finish this hotel produced no major faults to me nor my friend. We arrived at 9 am after a very early morning and the staff were really helpful and check in was smooth and quick. We were greeted to one of the nicest Novotel rooms I've stayed in, we had a queen size bed with the comfiest memory foam mattress. We had a Nespresso machine in our room and had pods that were replenished each day which is a lovely touch as part of the newly refurbished rooms. The view was also amazing, especially at sunset and sunrise! ( Room 1020) After an hour of checking in I received a knock at the door and a lovely lady gave me a card and some chocolate bars and inside the card was a lovely message from the manager on duty (Jenoen) welcoming me as an accor colleague to the hotel (this was such a lovely touch!). The hotel was a very short walk away from Station RAI and this was only a short metro journey away from Central station. I would suggest going to Rokin station as this is the closest to Dam Square and the big department stores also other shops such as Topshop, H&M etc. We got a 3 day pass for the transport which was around 26 euros each which I think is such a good price considering its unlimited journeys each day including the Tram, Bus, Metro and the Trains, I would highly recommend getting this! You can get one at the airport from the big ticket desk for the trains. I personally think this is a perfect location as you are out of the hustle and bustle of the center but still within a good distance of everything. While we were there we did a canal tour with a company called blue boat and this was very good as you got to see pretty much the whole of Amsterdam from the canals in just over an hour. Anyway back to the hotel... The breakfast was included in my rate as an employee and there was so much to choose from, from croissants to a full English breakfast. At breakfast it was nice to see that they accommodate to everyone's needs and a great example of this was the small stand of Chinese food they had. We also had dinner at the hotel on one night, we ate from the bar food menu and it was particularly nice. We chose to not have the full dinner menu as it was quite pricey however this was expected. So overall I had a lovely stay and so did my friend. I cannot fault this hotel at all and I will 100% be returning. Thank you to all the staff at the hotel for making this stay as memorable as it was, especially those on reception and in the bar as they were so friendly and efficient. Chloe W.
