Two of us recently stayed for 7 nights at this hotel. The other person paid for the first 5 nights using a credit card and I paid for the last 2 nights using a different credit card. We used the drop box when leaving because everything was paid for. When I checked my email after returning home the hotel has charged my credit card for all 7 nights. i have repeatedly tried contacting the hotel through their email and no one has responded after 4 business days. I will have to go through my credit card company to have this rectified. This hassle coming back from a holiday/conference is annoying so I have to give the hotel a poor rating.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. They have excellent food and staff. The only downside is that the restaurant staff could not tell me about the ingredients of my food. My friend was allergic to dairy and they didn't know what dishes were dairy free.

I had a lovely greeting at the front desk. All staff were lovely and very helpful. Room was comfortable as was the bed. I got a good rest. My only complaint was that the bathroom didn't seem to have been completely serviced before I arrived. There was only a small amount of toilet paper and no spare roll. And one of the towels appeared a little soiled. I had to find a cleaner who very kindly delivered a fresh roll and towel to my room.

Reliable as usual. I like the consistency and location is convenient for my business. Appreciated the upgraded room this time around. The only frustration is the lifts. These are so slow (door opening and closing) plus peak time loading pressure is almost enough to make me change hotels. Otherwise all works well.

I really enjoyed staying with Novotel Amsterdam City, we were early to check in and was given a room straight away, amazing! Very friendly customer service allowing us to deposit via cash. When getting to the room, I was delighted to see a coffee machine for guest use, allowing for a proper coffee when waking up (my friend, however drinks tea, and found the espresso cups a tad too small). The room was very clean and very well thought out: there were plenty of towels and toiletries, and I love the USB sockets in the wall (being a UK visitor and forgetting my adaptors). The TV size was fantastic and we used the very good Bluetooth speaker too. A very clean room, the idea of a £5 token if we chose not to have the room cleaned is a nice touch, as it’s another way to save the environment with an incentive to do so. The bar was a good experience knowing it closed very late, we didn’t feel rushed to drink our drinks and go. It would’ve been better if the bar itself sold snacks like crisps, but it wasn’t a problem as a vending machine nearby sold these items. When it came to check out, it was a very easy and swift operation. The cash deposit was returned (minus city tax as expected) and we were easily able to store our bags in the bag hold room. Staff always had a smile and were keen to help in any way! The ease of transport links could not have been better. Direct train to the airport, with metro and trams to the centre of Amsterdam, we are just so happy with the entire stay it could not have been more enjoyable!

Everything was good, stuff and room also good. However, the Madam at restraint seems not so appreciate for her position at front dest at breakfast time. This is the only bad experience for this hotel and first complain for NOVOTEL since 2015 to now.
