« A few small issues that normally wouldnt make a difference. »

Overall not a bad trip however some small issues arose that were unfortunate. The first issue that I had was with the hotels card machine. The machine would not accept my credit card until after numerous attempts another man waiting to check in told the man behind the desk that he had the same issue multiple times before with his own card and that it works if the card details are entered manually. This fix also worked for me however I feel that it should not have come to the stage where a guest has to provide help to the desk. The second issue that I had was with the house keeping not restocking the tea, coffee, and water. The third issue that I had was just that the hotel room I slet in felt tired like it could benefit from a deep clean to bring it back to its former glory.

Very conveniently located by the M1, J25. I was tired and hungry so went for an early meal only to be told that the restaurant was shut until later in the evening due to a coach party and event taking place. The following morning at breakfast, having "waited to be seated" was told to take any free space. And there was the problem, all free spaces were reserved for the weekend function. Seems if you happen to be there at the same time as organised events you will have to wait!

This normally excellent value for money hotel had a nightmare this week with no hot water and no restaurant facilities due to , guests were told , a major gas problem.I was informed at check in that this had just happened and had the option of cancelling my booking or staying at a discounted rate - it was too late to change as I was working nights that evening , so chose to stay in the expectation that the problem would be quickly fixed.When I checked out Friday the problem was still ongoing and therefore I made alternative accommodation arrangements for the following week - whilst these things happen , the disappointing thing was the lack of formal communication from the hotel - other than me asking when I passed reception there was no phone call , no letter under the door informing me of what was happening , expected duration etc.So it was a good old fashioned week of boiling the kettle and a wash in the sink - I'm not brave enough for cold showers.In fairness on departure , after some discussion , my room rate for the week was significantly reduced.

« Another happy stay »

Use this hotel regularly when visiting parents in Derbyshire with my family. Facilities are much better since the upgrade. Staff are friendly and helpful - particularly the restaurant staff at breakfast. Would be even higher rating if the additional child beds were a bit wider and you had hot chocolate as well as tea and coffee in the in-room drinks.

Fantastic hotel, great big spacus rooms that are very nice and new, big TV and free wi-fi. Staff are all really nice & helpful. Bar food is nice and a good choice. The room service service is a fantastic idea if you want breakfast in bed.

The isolation from the parties held downstairs simply DOES NOT guarantee a reasonable rest. This needs to be sorted or warned, it is not acceptable. If you hold parties, you need to allow for guest rest.

Stayed here several times on business and always comes up to usual Accor standard. Just one draw back on this occasion. WOT NO CHIPS. Ordered a burger for dinner but asked for chips not fries."Sorry sir we have no chips left" Tip for chef, take potato, peel potato, chip potato, put chips in fryer, when golden brown remove from fryer and add to plate.

« Great location, comfortable rooms »

Staff friendly, rooms were good and breakfast was enjoyable. Only criticism would be being charged a higher price at the bar for a drink than was shown on the price list in the lounge, and then being told that the prices had gone up.
