Room was clean but the carpet was absolutely HORRENDOUS. I booked for 1 night, added an extra night the day after and wanted to extend my stay for a week. But from £55 the price get up to £95 on a Tuesday and they quoted my stay for a week at this price. It’s not very commercial. Knowing I was having the room for a week at £65 on booking.com. It’s ok.. they apparently can afford to sit on £650. The first morning, I didn’t want breakfast only a real coffee from the bar espresso machine. The manager (or I assumed she was, tall brown lady) told me to go to the breakfast room... where I was charged £3 for only a coffee coming from the automatic machine used at breakfast giving a pretty mediocre coffee. I also asked the blond lady with short hair how much would it be for only continental breakfast as I was only fancying a bit of croissant and some orange juice. I was told it was no price for continental breakfast and that I will have to pay £13.95 which is a bit too much for a couple of mini croissants and an orange juice. The day after, Frances was a super star at breakfast and deserve to be named. Thanks to her. All in all an average stay. Pretty disappointing. Won’t come Back.

A little tired and in need of refurb.

The welcome by the staff was great, very helpful. The decor such as carpets, bathrooms etc is a little tired now and in desparate need of renovation. The employees tried very hard to serve everybody at breakfast but they did appear to be struggling and could have used twice as many staff to maintain a decent level of service, as it was we ended up clearing our own table and waiting for staff to walk around with cutlery. The food was average. There is no refund for a cancelled trip, this is not something I expect and most hotels that I use (I do use them weekly) have a facility for a cancellation up to the day of arrival. I would not particularly recommend it, nor would I use it again, however the parking is good and the hotel is close to the motorway, I suspect that business conferences are the mainstay of this particular hotel.

Breakfast was awful and my evening meal was a joke, special of the evening the chilli tasted of nothing and the wings where cold, told the waiter when I was paying and he agreed with me

I have used Novotel Nottingham Derby previously. The bathroom facilities are very good, the room layout is carefully thought out and perfect, the bed comfortably, the quality and selection of the food and drink at breakfast very good.

Housekeeping was wonderful; interconnecting door transmitted lots of noise

The interconnecting door to the next room allowed every sound to be transmitted from the guests staying there. They turned their television on at 1am. Housekeeping went above & beyond to look after us as we worked in our room throughout the day.

Stopped one night for my fathers birthday party. Was greeting by friendly hotel staff. We needed a cot which was provided straight away and no problems. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was up there with the best I’ve had. Will be stopping again next time u go to see my dad

Everything was as expected other than air conditioning coming on every three hours during the night. We had to ring reception each time to turn it off. In the morning the maintenance manager explained that there was a "sticking valve" which has been a problem for some time. As a customer I am not interested in the reason but rather the solution. As a result my wife and I had an interrupted night which did not set us up well for the next day. I have been staying at the hotel for 3 years and have suffered this problem before. You need to get it sorted!
