« Fantastic room but some areas still lacking »

I had a fantastic room and am a regular visitor so get special treatment on room allocation. It’s the thing that keeps me coming back because the free breakfast is so bad I don’t bother taking it anymore. The check in service is slow whilst the staff chat and laugh amongst themselves about other things and the WiFi doesn’t work in the room, only in public area. Good job it’s cheap or I’d try elsewhere.

Novotel's airport arrival assistance was outstanding. I was welcomed in the early hours of the morning and easily went through immigration and to the shuttle bus. Room was clean and comfortable. Seeing the amenities of the hotel I was sad I could only stay for one night!

I was very disappointed with the Novotel in Cairo. As a Platinum member I definitely expected more. While the public areas are nice (except for lobby which is under renovation) the room was quite awful. It was very old and dated. My platinum status was not acknowledged at check-in even though the reservation was in my profile. I also did not receive a welcome drink, welcome amenity or room upgrade which is part of the platinum status. The shuttle service from the airport was good and efficient.

The room I lived in from 28/7-30/7 was pretty cool. The other one I lived in from 1/8-3/8 was horrible. No glasses in the bathroom and entire room, the basin is clogged (water is not draining off). No TV remote control pad in the room. The wardrobe door is not opening but partially leaving only a narrow slot hardly usable. Wi-Fi was not working in the hotel during my stay which created a lot of problems to my work. My room number was 441 (if I am not mistaken).
