The worst Mercure Hotel I have ever been to!

I never knew that there are any Mercure hotels withput air condition. Also the equipment of the room is not 4 stars! There was a wedding party in the hotel about which I was not awared before comming. Bar was open only 18:00 - 21:00! The service in the bar was also poor. For a glas of beer we had to wait 25 minutes. The guy from bar has explained that he was busy serving the starter on the wedding party. For all guests - the hotel is not in Duesseldorf but in a small city of Neuss. I will never come there again!!!!!

Hotel was very good, lovely setting. Rooms spacious and a decent bathroom, could do with air conditioning and corridors did need a refresh. Breakfast was excellent with a good range to choose from. Staff very pleasant and helpful. One of our party thought it was the best hotel he'd ever stayed in!

2nd time here and great to "hear" that the reception staff talked Dutch! it isnt a wheelchair friendly hotel but we could find our way. hotelroom was big and bathroom good! breakfast was good, we missed fresh orangejuice and (more) fresh sliced fruit ( only 2 pieces of watermelon) but very friendly staff! maybe possible to have 1 DUTCH tv network?! (BVN (worldwide dutch and begium tv network) for example between al foreign channels (even russian etc...) we still are neighbours :) we will come back!

Stay was comfortable and relaxing. Distance to the train station, 1 km, gave me a healthy walk, back & forth. The very quiet neighborhood was refreshing, though some might find it lonely. Train station, Norf, is not on RE and ICE halts; Only S-bahn seems to stop here. Breakfast was sumptuous, though a bit pricey, comparatively.

refurbishment overdue

This hotel is tired and a much needed refurbishment is long overdue. A terrible smell of bad drains haunted my stay, and I couldn't get a wi fi connection in my room; but I did have a nice breakfast, with freshly cooked eggs to order - which is the only reason for two stars. Bathroom facilities are more aligned to the Ibis brand than Mercure, ie below basic. Overall, this hotel is second rate and I do not recommend a stay. Instead, book early to get a room somewhere else, or rearrange your travel to Dusseldorf on non peak dates.

Roomy space, well maintained facilities, surrounded by huge area of country landscape, good breakfast. Hotel runs its own above-average restaurant, but for those who looks for more variety, three restaurants are just within 10 minute walk. Also reachable within 10 minutes is EDEKA and dm. The somewhat deserted S-Bahn station is about 15 minutes away by walk, which could be a problem for travelors with heavy luggage. The biggest problem in the warmer and warmer summer: there is no air conditioner.

Average in all respects. Location ok though not optimal. Equipment correct without any outstanding feature. Expensive extras (the bottle of water in the room should be free, not charged 4 euros, and the parking space should also be included, especially considering the fact that the hotel is not at all located in a city centre. Kind and helpful personnel.

Hopefully the above sums up my feelings about this dreary hotel located miles from anywhere. Having recently stayed in the excellent Mercure Wiesbaden I was hoping for something similar. But it wasn't to be. Dull room with spartan, cramped accommodation (e,g,. one has to walk sideways down one side of the bed it's so close to the bathroom wall). Gets the two stars for the politeness of the staff and as the quality of the food was good. Other than that, little to recommend.

Carpets in hotel needs to be replaced and some places floor instead of carpet. Its smelly. The glass doors to go to the rooms are very tight to handle. Stricter rules to swim in the swimming pool. One day a moslima swim with all her clothes on. Not very hygienic !!! Never croissants at the breakfast.

As a platinum member , requested a quiet location. Got stuck above the reception area on third floor, which is the outdoor smoking area - woken up many times during the night by people coming ang going. Was forded to pay for optional breakfast upon checkout as she claimed it was part of the tariff. THis was refunded to my card at a later date . Extremely poor service .

I arrived early but room was available and ready so they checked me in immediately. The reception staff was helpful throughout the stay. S-Bahn station is 10 mins walk away through a park. 25 mins to Main Dusseldorf station and then 20 mins to Messe fairgrounds. Not much dinning options nearby but there a restaurant and bar in the hotel. Some local stores nearby to find basics. The only negative I found in the room was heating which was not good for my standards and uncomfortable.

We chose this hotel because of the outdoor pool and the fantastic weather on our weekend away. According to the homepage the pool is open in September. Wrong. The pool is closed. Closed. Yes, but the weather is excellent... No the pool is closed. We discussed with 3 different staff members. No one took us seriously. There was no explanation. No understanding. The pool is closed. End of story. Staff do not seem to be trained to make hotel guests feel welcome or important. Check-in was unfriendly. The hotel is run down, the carpets are threadbare in the hallway and stairs and the room we had was overdue for new clean carpet. The hotel prices are very low (53 Euro per night) but the experience was not good. I have a house dust allergy and really suffered in the room. You hear a lot of noise from the hallway as the doors close loudly and the walls are thin.

We booked this hotel predominantly because the website showed that they had a 'heated pool' we wanted to have a nice splash after a long day of driving. When we arrived we were told that the pool was not heated. On a brighter note the hotel was clean and the room was much bigger that the family room that we stayed at in France. Breakfast was a huge spread and the kids enjoyed the stay

The hotel is located in a wooded area just by the motorway. It is a nice hotel but the pool is outdoors. When I stayed in August the pool water was cold and not very clean. The fitness room is useless. Finding the main entrance to the hotel can be difficult as it is at the end of a lane that is not very clearly signposted. There is a gas station and a large supermarket within a few minutes walking distance. There were also plenty of parking spaces available when we there

Difficult checkout

It took me 30 minutes for checking out in the morning. No other guest before myself. The lady at reception took the phone twice while processing my check-out, without any excuse. I do not understand why there was only one staff at reception at 7:30 AM, busy morning time for business people. I had to pay first the amount what she said, before seeing an invoice. Before she charge onto my credit card, I asked to show me the invoice. But she said it was not possible, and that the hotel do not show the invoice till the payment is made. I found a mistake when checking the invoice only after my payment. I was paying for two rooms (two guests). We had three breakfasts to pay, but she charged four. I asked a correction, then she deducted all the breakfasts. I insisted to pay for three breakfasts, which she didn't seem to undersatnd my comment, but credited 4 breakfasts on my credit card. During the whole process, she did not apologize any for the mistake and the delay. I do not want to have free breakfasts by somebody's mistake, but want to stay at a hotel with good service policy and procedure.

Hotel was overbooked with 14 rooms and therefore we needed to stay in another hotel in the surroundings. So not really comfortable. You need to check-in before 18H00 even if you confirm via Phone your reservation and leave you credit card details. So not really business friendly. because of overbooking upgrade and so room was ok depending of the location of your business Bit older building
