« Lovely place to stay but improve your service »

I've stayed in the hotel 5 times now. It's a nice hotel and the rooms are good. However, my last two stays, I think standards are falling a bit. For example - 1st day - none of the coffee machines at breakfast seemed to be working. Sometimes there are no staff at breakfast to clear plates, table etc. - gym area - ran out of towels, no detox water, no fruit - room - had ants

Good stay, Hotel location was fine, buffet Restaurant buffet very nice. Usually I don't like buffet in hotel, but this one is particulary good and with a lot of variety ! Just one comment, unfortunatly the pool was closed one day for maintenance. Too bad !

When I checked in, I was not recognized as a gold member but as a silver member altough I did book online while connected on my account. I had to come back at reception with my card number later on. Then I was given 2 ironing vouchers and a tapas voucher (on top of the drink voucher I already received for the silver membership). The next day, I ordered the ironing for two of my shirt and when I came back at night, the two vouchers were back in my room but not the clothes. I called to know where my clothes were and I was told that I would be called back shortly with some news. The next morning as I did not receive any news, I called back at reception and a lady told me that my clothes were booked for washing and not ironing. She brought the clothes to my room and I almost got charged for the washing. The lady finally got it for free as that is not what I ordered (I wanted to make use of my vouchers). The following night, I ordered room service (pasta carbonara) and after 1 hour the food was still not delivered. I called and was told that the delivery was imminent. 30 minutes later I called again and eventually after a few minutes the food arrived. For the first time in a long time, I had quite a bad experience in one of the accor hotel establishment. To be forgotten very quickly...

Service is remarkably slow with staff taking ages to respond to small requests (eg a menu). 2 machines broken in the gym No body cream in the room and only 1 x bar of soap provided. The one exception I’ve found is Brice at reception. His service is always excellent and he makes me feel welcome and well received. He is a gem

The room I was given had a bad AC. I was sweating. After atleast two calls and one visit to the reception, a technician came in. The technician opened the roof and after about 2 hours said he had to go eat his dinner when the work was done (I have pictures). After getting agitated and yet another visit to the reception a lady came in and my room was changed around 10pm. The new room was smaller than the room I paid for and I noticed two technicians in the bathroom of the new room fixing the toilet. I was embarrassed. After about 2 hours of fruitless work, the technician told me that I will not be able to use the toilet till the next day and left. I was not only exhausted but disgusted. I went to the reception and they told me they had no other room and were fully booked. That I had to stay in the room with the toilet bad. Nobody cared. It felt like what you will hear from a 1 star motel. After a disastrous night, and yet another visit to the reception, that was when I was given a new room when I returned. some paltry soda and ground nut was placed in the room. I repeatedly requested to speak with the manager but no one cared. what a shame! I will never stay or recommend NOVOTEL to anyone after this experience. My fiancée thanked me for telling her a country and hotel she should never visit. Till I left no one cared to apologize. It was business as usual.

« Great location, good room, poor breakfast, very slow bar, gym needs a mechanic »

On the first morning I went for breakfast twice and I have to say it was terrible value for money and there was almost nothing to eat on the buffet. The second morning there were a few things on the buffet but not many and the scrambled eggs were truly terrible. I didn't waste my money on the third morning and had breakfast somewhere else. The bar service was very slow whenever I tried to use it. In the gym one treadmill was out of action, the cross trainer was making a terrible noise and should have been under maintenance, and one of the bikes was slipping. That is less than 50% of the equipment available which resulted in people waiting or giving up each morning. On checkout I waited for 20 minutes to pay my bill. This is all a shame because I have enjoyed staying at Abidjan Novotel many times previously but it has gone down hill very fast. I don't know if this is partly due to the Pullman reopening but the Novotel will need to try much harder to compete. The room was good, housekeeping staff are very helpful and welcoming, and the location is great. It is the catering and the extras that don't work.

« Generally good but the Air Condition in the Room was very poor. »

The food was good, service very good, cleanliness. The only real problem was the Air Con in the room wasn't so poor I was also sweating, which made it very uncomfortable. The WiFi is better than last time, but still not the best... so I can live with that.

« The general experience was not good »

The light went off for several hours and there was no back up generator. For a hotel like Novotel, one would have expected a back up generator to deal with issues like this. The room became hot and no internet access as well for the period the lights were off.

General service was average, restauration good, but a little problem with in room service and reception. During my recent stay, certain sports Tv channels where not available in my room but we’re available in the lobby downstairs. After several calls, I could only have a technician coming to see into the problem the following day when I went to the desk personally. The technician who came promised to come back with a solution but never returned until I left the hotel. During that weekend, January 18-20th, I could not watch my football matches
