« A good overnight stay during a long drive through France. »

The stay was good for the purpose of our trip, ie. overnight stay during a long drive. However, the hotel could use a refurbishment, which was already ongoing for the swimming pool. This made the swimming pool unusable, a situation which should be communicated to clients at the moment of the reservation, since a choice of hotel is often made with a swimming pool in mind.

Been to this hotel on several occasions but this Overnight stop has put us off returning to this hotel. Booked executive room.... bed brilliant but the mini bar had a bottle of water half full left I assume by the previous guest.. so conclude it was not checked. The tea and coffee facilities were covered in a White dust presumably from shaking bedding, but not clean so didn't risk using. And once again a bit Stingy with only one teabag for two people, but plenty of coffee. We did report all of this to reception who Checked the water in the bathroom.. language barrier even though he spoke English, but he did give us two bottles of water when he understood. We that's the room sorted .. very disappointed. Now the gourmet break which is where you pay upfront for your evening meal being either stater/main course or main course/dessert from as advertised on website either from the daily menus OR al acarte menu. We have used this before so thought we would do it again, but NEVER again. We was told at the hotel we could only choose from the daily menu of only one choice, but if we decided to use the al acarte menu we only had 18 euros to spend total. Well a beef burger is 14.50 euros and other main meals 16.50 euros upwards. So not much choice for 18 euros then, how do you get two courses. WELL you pay the extra. Don't be fooled into this offer it's a waste of time. Well we decided as we was tired we would pay the extra, I had chicken and mash ...... I was told the plate was very hot.. too right it was so hot from sitting in the warming area that the chicken was SO SO dry but yes it was hot. Tired and hungry and fed up complaining I eat this disgusting meal, my husbands meal was ok he order steak seeming as he was paying the extra costs. The chef should be sent on a retraining cooking course if this is the best she/he could deliver with only four guest in the dining room. No we get onto breakfast.... on previous stays cooked bacon, sausages and all the other choice. This time hot selection was bacon only. And the frying of eggs in those stupid tiny pans, which the eggs stick too even if you spray the oil in them. Not a good start to our onwards journey. Whilst I'm now in the mood the wine needs rethinking, perhaps maybe getting a selection of DRY wines Say a Savignon. Thank goodness we haven't booked our return stay end of April. I not normally one to complain but this Overnight stop turned out to be very expensive, and not very enjoyable. So may I suggest you take the cheaper rooms as all beds are lovely in all the rooms and DON'T be conned into a gourmet break where you meals are not a choice but can be very expensive. On the whole

good personnel, temperature of 24 degrees in the building to hot. every day the same irritating music. and menu card for dinner, not many choices. If the restaurant had a better card, the prices are acceptable. We would eat there more.

« Very old and un-usable shower (shower head cannot be attached high enough and therefore one has to hold the shower hear to take a shower) -- completely unacceptable from a NOVOTEL. »

There also is construction work at the hotel. Noise from concret removal container starting a little after 7 am under our window (the hotel recpetion the night before had warned us there would not be power after 9 am... but not this). When I complained in the morning while checking out, the manager said the construction workers shoudl not have started before 9... oh well. Very old and dated bathroom - showing stains... Ibis level from 20 years ago)

Checking in was quick. Breakfast had good selection of foods. Check out was handy. Not sure if we had the correct room? Was to have been a superior bedroom with a queen size bed and we don’t think it was.

The room was comfortable and clean. Reception welcomed me in a very friendly way. The restaurant had a good selection of meals. The express check out worked well, except the email with the invoice. I had to ask for it afterwards.

« Another great stay! »

We've stayed here on many occasions on our regular trips to the south of Spain. Location is good - not far from the motorway with a lake nearby to exercise our dog! This is one of our preferred stops as everything is perfect for us! Nice clean room and bathroom, good food in the restaurant and good choice for breakfast.

The reception staff were friendly and efficient and the rooms clean and comfortable. We were surprised that the food was so good as have been disappointed in the past at other similar hotels. This was an unplanned stop en route and we would be happy to stay here again.

« Not as good as the previous times I stayed in the hotel. »

I was not happy with the service I received during dinner, waiter was not too friendly. The restaurant was almost empty and I ordered pasta with ham (something easy), also ordered a glass of wine. The waiter brought me the glass of wine without showing me the bottle. The food was cold and it took quite a long time to have it served. I was surprised since there was not so many people having dinner, plus some people who arrived later than me got their food quicker. Besides this, the room was ok and the people at reception friendly as usual.

« Quiet, clean and luxurious. »

After a long drive through France, this was exactly the experience I needed. Clean, sumptuous with nice lighting and a well laid out room. Two doors are between the hallway and the bedroom, so this was perfect for a quiet night in. Nice touches included a bottle of water in the fridge, soaps and shampoo, and tea & coffee facilities. So nice that I applied for a discount card for futher stays in the future!

« Good in the main but some issues »

We thought the hotel was nice the food quite good the room comfortable however we had an issue. We had paid in advance for dinner We were told this entitled us to two courses We checked with the waitress and she confirmed Specifically we asked her if we could have a burger She said ‘of course ‘ However When the bill Was presented all That happened was that the 18 Euro each was subtracted From the a la carte price leaving us. An extra 14 euros to pay on top Of the bottle of wine which we were aware was an extra Although it was not true the waitress insisted she told us that the menu we chose from was extramahe did not do this in fact the opposite was true she told us we could have any starter or main course She then repeated this lie to the person at the front desk I told her she was lien and in the end I said I would pay the extra money but would posy my experience on trip advisor Only then did they say we did not have to pay the extrthis left an unpleasant feeling about the hotel and made us not inclined to repeat the experience which is a pity because mostly everything else was great

It was not as good as I had expected. After I had prepaid for the room, I was informed that the restaurant would not be open. On arrival we discovered that the bar wasn't open either. The lovely young lady on reception was able to do us a beer or a coffee. I had hoped for a gin and tonic or glass of champagne! The room was fine and the breakfast the following morning was excellent. I had perhaps mistakenly thought that Novotel was a higher level of hotel to Ibis and mercure.

We were staying one night, we arrived with Hotel sign well lit which helped. The entrance gate was broken which we didn't know as we drove in behind another car. We had to reverse to let the, back and then the exit gate opened for them to drive in. We drove up to barrier, pressed the button and then had to do the same. Would've been helpful to have to have a sign to warn people, even if it was just typed out and stuck to the gate. We checked in and we're on the 2nd floor. There was a strange smell during our stay in the corridor that smelt slightly of drains and the carpet outside our door had a hole in it. The room was clean apart from the seal around the sink and bath needed replacing but the room was way too hot, not sure what I had asked for but we thought never mind and we turned it right down to 5 thinking it would cool off whilst we went for dinner. It was 1830 an we were going to eat in the hotel but dinner didn't start till 1930 so we went out. Same fun with the gate on the way back and when we went to our room it was baking hot. Seems turning it down did nothing to change the temperature. We opened the window but I was up 5 times in the night closing it as I was woken by noise outside, I then had to re open it as it was so hot and then close it again etc etc. as we had two young children I didn't want to have to try and move rooms in the middle of the night. Breakfast was great, the best part of our stay, a great choice and quality. Staff were friendly but sadly we won't stay there again as it was tired and the heating issue and smell really put us off. Thank you for your time.

Arrived at 1am and one room was unsuitable but the reception was abandoned after we were given our keys. No one there and no one answering the phone. It took us ages to find someone to arrange a room change. New rooms were dirty, shower was covered in orange mould. Breakfast was average at best. Microwaved bacon, soggy waffles, stale pastries. We stay here regularly and normally have an enjoyable stay but on this occasion the hotel was well below average. If we have this experience again we will not be returning.

Welcome was warm. Room was clean, comfortable and a good size. Dinner was good, breakfast was excellent. Not overpriced.
