Only had a one night stop over, but it was a pleasant hotel, clean and well kept. We had dinner in the restaurant that was very good, and the help yourself breakfast was excellent.

« Adequate, but only just that »

Rooms are generally in less than tip-top state (e.g. stained old carpet, flaking paint, toilet flush mechanism stuck, TV not working, 'old hotel' smell, ...). The double door helps to isolate some of the noise, but slamming doors are still very annoying and the walls are thin. However, staff is friendly, reception is nice and room is kept as clean as possible considering the general state of things. Conveniently located, ample parking.

« Hotel looking shabby and food very disappointing »

We think this hotel is due to a refurbish eg Carpets worn and stained. We used to look forward to the food in your Hotels but the standard has fallen and my meal of Veal and roasted veg looked very unappetising and the veal poor and not well cooked.

I found this experience way below that normally offered. I had a challenging experience on arrival with the staff member quite rudely insisting I had booked two rooms . I had albeit by mistake. He sorted the situation but not without some discussion. I then asked a separate staff member later on if the room could be made cooler and was told the system would put cold air in later. It never did and we nearly all fried in there. In the morning I was told " the website makes it clear there is no air conditioning" All in all this stay has posed questions about whether I will be using Novotel again.

« Disabled bathroom was not a wetroom; my wife could not manage the shower in the bath. »

Not great! Bathroom problem as above - we booked months early and had hoped for better. Stayed in 10 other hotels in trip through Spain/France - in all occasions we had a wetroom. Also found duvet much too thick. Restaurant food and wine were expensive, so went elsewhere.

Very pleasant one night stay on our way to the Charente. Had one small dog with us so although the room is a little 'tired' it was perfect in that it accommodated two adults plus terrier! The up side to the hotel is the restaurant, particularly as we were able to eat outside on the terrace by the pool (accompanied by said dog, of course!). Food was of a good standard and most enjoyable. The other up side is the staff, who were lovely, particularly the restaurant and bar staff. Lots of outside space for that late night dog walk. Overall, a good experience and we would definitely stay again.

Accomodation was very good, location also good. Hotel clean and well presented. Once again the bar & restaurant were staffed by only one person who was trying very hard to serve everyone, but finding it difficult to do so. The hotel management should have increased the staffing levels knowing the number of guests, including a coach party, that would be staying. Guests were obviously disappointed at the poor level of service due to inadequate staffing levels!

The rooms are very clean and tidy, bed vey comfortable. The evening meal was nice but very limited choice. Breakfast was excellent we a good choice. There is excellent on site parking. With Tesla charging points. Overall excellent as we were traveling down to Spain.
