« Extremely friendly and convenient hotel for my business visits »

The hotel is located in a nice quiet wooded area on the edge of the University campus. The rooms are spacious and always very clean and the staff is wonderful. Whenever I come back to this hotel for business purposes in the area, I feel nearly at home again. The new menu at the restaurant is very nice and complimented during the week by daily specials which are super nice and good value for money. Cannot fault this place. I would recommend the Superior rooms rather than standard as the bathrooms are a little bit nicer ... and it is worth the little extra.

« Perfect for a short of night stay »

High marks for front desk staff and clean rooms. Lower marks for poor eve dining service and renovated, but older facilities. I must begin by saying that FRONT DESK staff was PROFESSIONAL and VERY HELPFUL during my stay. They answered my zillion questions, always with a friendly smile. I enjoyed self-serve buffet breakfasts at hotel as well as a dinner, which was also good, but service, not so much. Although I ordered water (sans gaz), on opened bottle of water with gas arrived at table, which I returned. Then when I asked for the check (l'addition), I was presented with the dessert menu. What? Thirty minutes later, when I still had not received the check, I went to and stood by the cash register, which finally got another employee's attention. I appreciated their assistance closing out my dinner tab, but received an expression of distaste, when I asked to put my dinner on a credit card instead of charging dinner to my room. As for the facilities, imagine an old hotel, renovated but not fully, with shades of its prior life, but not in a good way. Rooms and linens were always clean but hallways, doors, water closet, bathroom layouts, elevator vintage and slightly claustrophobic. Additionally, the beds were on scissor lifts, which I assumed facilitated housekeeping in rooms. Only trouble was that I would bump my bed walking around it and scissor lift would elevate bed. Then I would have a hard time getting bed to LOCK back at normal level for sleeping. This situation was mildly comical as when I laid on bed, bed would descend, but if I got up for any reason, bed would elevate. Unless other hotels in area are sold out, I probably would not stay here again, but if I had to, its certainly not the worst place ever.

I was not prepared to check in after 14.00. but that is policy and respect it. Hotel is well equiped and designed. Room was quite big with nice furniture. Breakfast was excellent with various food. only what was not for me is bath tab and shower - due to my hight it was not possible to stay straght during showering.

dinner standard floats every night. light of tennis court is broken so you can only play before 6pm. You need to beg the reception to give you a pair of indoor slippers. Central air-condition makes the room way too warm every night. Reception don’t allow me to accumulate Accor points. My first time to stay in a Novotel. Might not choose them again next time.

« Poor quality room......category "superior" »

Not so good. The room was supposed to be Superior but the carpets were a disgrace, the door to the shower was rotten, the shower flooded. (presumably hence the rotten door) and the toilet seat was faulty and moved about.. The receptionist was extremely apologetic and offered to move us but we were too tired to bother. Three other points, 1) the hotel was fairly empty. What is the room allocation policy...let out the worst rooms first? 2) If that room was superior, what is a standard room like? 3) Despite all my details being held on the Accor members website, everything has to be re entered when checking in online. This is not slick.

« Nice stay, a bit expensive room but good side was the 24/7 reception and restarant was open late. »

English skills could have been improved with some personnels. Anyway, got all issues solved. Room was lately renovated, but was Still a bit expensive (170€/night). Bed was nice and I liked that there was proper shower instead of one in the bath. It was very nice to have 24/7 reception and that you could get food from the restaurant till 2200 and even in sunday evenings. The best meal was the hamburger, got my "medium well" steak "rare" or "medium rare", not good.

The hotel was clean and staff were as expected. Only downside I have with Club Accor is I have stayed at your hotels most of the year and never been offered an upgraded room even though I look on the website to find upgraded rooms were available. I also use IHG hotels and I am always offered a free upgrade whether I stay for 1 night or 21 nights.

I ordered an executive room in order to have a king size bed. What I received was a perfectly reasonable room with two singles pushed together - putting a kingsize sheet on two single beds does not make it king size, especially if the two beds are on wheels and are not joined together.
