We frequently use the hotel because of its convenient location, comfortable rooms and excellent staff. The decision to amend what's previously been a reasonable menu choice is both disappointing and a major error. The presentation - in folded paper format - cheapens the brand; the layout is muddled and the choice of courses appears to be much reduced. A first time visitor would be put off by this presentation. Fortunately for us, the shortcomings were largely offset by very helpful staff who assisted in obtaining a basic omelette that was off menu. Please return to the old format if you wish to encourage guests to use the restaurant rather than eating elsewhere.

Dear Sir B., Thank you for sharing your feelings about our hotel following your stay. I take note of your return on the change of the restaurant menu. As I told you the night of your visit, it is true that the Novotel restaurant has completely changed compared to the usual standards. A change that had been requested by the regular customer Novotel. With our chef, we decided to keep some old recipes "essential" to overcome this great change. Your return is important because I share it with catering Novotel France who has deployed this card on all Novotel. Very nice atmosphere and location. The front desk has been incredibly nice and helpful and was very helpful in advice on what to do in the city. Parking is adequate. Hotel was very clean as well as the room. The breakfast was better than what I expected.

We had considered Novotel one of the most reliable hotels and restaurants until our last visit on the 15 May. Reception, the room and breakfast were very good. We were surprised and very disappointed with the evening menu and meal in the hotel restaurant. It was not up to previous standards. We were not happy with the poor range of food. There were four main dishes, we selected the Thai chicken only to be told it was not available. We missed the opportunity to select an omelette, a Novotel burger and even local, seasonal food. We had travelled for 12hours and were really looking forward to a good meal. The food served was very bland (cod and boiled potatoes) and totally lacked imagination. The dessert was a very soggy apricot tart.

Having stayed in many Novotel Hotels over many years including this one maybe 5 times before, but not for a few years, the experience was not as good as expected. Really the hotel is just tired and needs re refurbishment despite a poor attempt to do so by updating the bathrooms and changing the colour scheme in the WC's it still lacks the excellence of other Hotels. The staff were very good though.

Dear sir, Have stayed at Novotel and Mercure hotels for business and pleasure. This time we pre-booked 1 night stay at your property with breakfast and dinner pre-paid and included. The 3 course dinner option was offered via the Accor website at special discount offer. Unfortunately your staff insisted that we were only entitled to 2 courses from a fixed menu, in spite of double check at reception and in restaurant. It was only the next morning that your reception had adjusted our bill in line with what we had ordered (2 courses, costing less than the discounted 3 course rate). While we appreciate the correction, in effect the customer experience was not worthy of the Novotel reputation. Some sort of compensation (a small discount or Accor point credits) would have been in place in our opinion. I can only hope that your staff will learn from this feedback and look forward to your reply. We would love to come back some time soon and have the perfect experience. Warm regards, Ronald P.

This is a quiet and relaxing hotel to stay in. Everywhere was clean and tidy, staff helpful and efficient. The restaurant serves lovely food from a good french menu. Beds are very comfortable and the room had a nice outlook.

We have stayed at this hotel several times. It has always been comfortable, and we have had no complaints. This time, it seems to have 'gone basic'. The bed was seriously uncomfortable, it was like lying on a straw bale. The restaurant was completely disorganised. Ordering was slow and then we had to ask to have our drinks, after waiting 30 mins, the dinner was overcooked and for a simple dish like chicken chasseur you would think that was pretty impossible to do. The waiting staff did a lot of running around with very little effect. One waitress seemed to spend all her time setting one table and spraying lots of antibacterial cleaner. It wasn't especially busy, so no excuse. I really object to having plastic and paper cups for drinks in the rooms. Easy for the hotel but not nice for the clients. breakfast was OK but there was a shortage of dishes, as things weren't replenished as speedily as they should have been. Again there was a lot of table clearing and anti-bacterial spraying at the expense of serving the food!

The Hotel is undergoing refurbishment. The ground floor rooms are being refurbished in sections. Our allocated room (booked 2 months ago ) was at the far end of the corridor. The centre section of the corridor was closed. You had to exit by a fire door and re enter further down via another emergency door that was left open. No Addie all security arrangements were in place although the doors were open all night.
