We were warmly welcomed to the hotel and the booking-in process was smooth and efficient. Our standard room on the ground floor was clean and tidy with some toiletries in the bathroom. The flat screen TV was a generous size with a good range of English language channels. There was a kettle for tea making and a Nespresso coffee machine. The sound proofing between rooms was not great – we could hear neighbouring guest use their bathroom, TV and Nespresso coffee machine! On our first evening we had a meal in the hotel restaurant. This was very disappointing and not good value for money. The menu choice was limited, the portions were small and one was served with the wrong side dish, and the service slow. On our second evening we made the short walk towards Dijon and dined in a neighbouring restaurant, where we received first class meal at a more competitive price. The buffet breakfast provided more than adequate choice for a hearty meal to start the day. The hotel is located on Line 4 bus route to Dijon city centre – about 35min journey for 3.70 Euros return. The outdoor swimming pool was most welcome after a long day sightseeing in Dijon city centre. (The hotel is also well located for visiting numerous well known vineyards and wineries) This was our second and slightly longer stay at this hotel. Although the meal was disappointing on the first evening, we will return to this hotel where all the staff were friendly and very helpful.

Hotel itself was good but the dinner menu was not as good as when we last stayed in 2016. There is less choice of food and the quality of the food is not as good. We have stayed here several times before and enjoyed our evening meal but were disappointed this time.

I stayed in 4 different novotel last week, and this one was by far the worst. Old rooms, very old restaurant with a disgusting breakfast. In a ibid budget breakfast is better. And as a bonus the bill was wrong to. They had "forgotten" to take off my rewards point bonus. For sure we pass next time dijon as quick as possible

« Really nice staff but restaurant disappointing »

Have stayed many times at this hotel and always look forward to an omelette in the restaurant. We have stayed in 3 different French Novotel’s in the past month and all have removed omelettes from their menu! It’s always been a staple option particularly for me being vegetarian. The menu felt overpriced for the quality of good and all I could have was soup and frites! The staff were very helpful and friendly in the hotel, particularly the red headed man in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. Reception friendly too! Rooms are bit dated, but clean! Have used Novotels in France several times a year for the past 20 years, but feel that they are getting too expensive for what they are and so are considering looking at alternatives.

« Big deterioration since last year »

We have been coming to this hotel for 10 years now and feel very sad to see the big decline since last year. It feels like there has been a cost cutting exercise, which has made the whole experience terrible now. The food and drink has become limited in choice and overpriced. I feel sorry for the staff (run off their feet). Unfortunately we’ll not be coming back.
