« Great stay in a lovely location »

This is our fourth visit and the public area on the ground floor has been much enlarged and improved since our last visit. The location is perfect. The deck/terrace was the centre of our group activity. Very pleasant. We ate several dinners in the hotel and were impressed by the quality of the food and by the helpfulness of the staff. The Maitre d' was friendly and helpful as were all of the waiting staff. Fish buffet on Friday night well worth the trip. On one day, we hired bikes and cycled around the island almost entirely on cycle tracks. Really good family entertainment. The person in charge of cycle hire in the hotel was extremely helpful, fitting us out with various sizes of bikes and even a helmet for the one year old. We had two rooms, one looking out at the sea and another looking at the forest. Both well equipped. Great pool and staff. The only slightly negative side to the visit was checking in. I have a platinum Accor card but the hotel did not seem to know that. Not their fault I guess. A system fault? My daughter's family arrived at 14.00 on the day after our arrival and were told that their room could not be available until 16.00. They had flown from London, getting up at 03.00 and the one year old baby was just about at the end of his tether. Sandrine (who checked us in) tried hard for us but housekeeping apparently could not budge. Eventually the manager solved the problem (within 2 mins) for which we were truly grateful. We will certainly be back.

All was perfect! Tremendous improvement on the restaurant side. Fresh products only, great variety of choices and lovely cooking, flavours and dressings. On the room side, some changes too with new beddings and linen. On the spa side, new offers and an always very professionnal team !

« Very quiet and nice hotel »

We had a very nice 3-nights stay. The hotel is very-well situated at the beach and we were very lucky with good weather. The only observation was that in the first night at the reception was a lady which caught a cold and she doesn't explain us very well about the evening meal, so we had to pay much more that we expected, which was very unpleasant!

« Recognised valued improvements in restaurant/breakfast »

Well done and designed improvements in restaurant and breakfast offering. Good service. Unfortunately, loud unattended dogs in room above (236) ours (136) during most of our stay. We did not gave the restaurant for diner a new try, because we were disappointed during past years from price/performance ratio and missing innovation. But that might be biased by personal preference though. If the hotel continues with their renovation and improving their services, we will be happy to return!

Enjoyable stay. 2 nights. Tucked away slightly from the town but it’s walkable by daylight. Facilities good though seawater pool is horrendous! Get real and invest in fresh water please. Restaurant expensive for what it is for dinner But Breakfast was Superb.

« A Resort more than a Hotel »

The location is fantastic being exactly inside a pine forest on the sea shore. The reception is fine, hoping not to arrive with a crowd. You can see quite immediately that the Structure itself isn't very modern, there is a bit of confusion at the entrance with lots of people coming and going. We were really looking for a quiet place but missed the point seeing children and dogs. This is more a Family Hotel where lots of children move quite freely and most of the guests have their pets along. As a matter of fact we didn't like to see a wet and sand covered labrador crossing the dining room while we were having dinner. I think some major respect, or attention towards some rules, should be attended. After all the Place isn't exactly cheap. The room we had was at the first floor, just over the terrace and perhaps a bit noisy, but comfortable. We found a very bit sofa that really took lots of room. The mattress didn't satisfy me at all and must say that I've slept in much better beds in Mercure Hotels. It was rather thin and absolutely hard for my back making me arise very stiff in the morning. One morning at 5 AM we even got a fire alarm that resulted a fake, luckily enough. So, in the whole the Resort (that at my eyes looks more like a holiday village than a Hotel) has a wonderful location with great balsamic air to breath and fantastic breakfast. In a week we stayed twice for dinner, but found the menu a bit too short and so went outside and enjoyed much more. I definitely recommend this Place to young couples with children and dogs but not for couples that look for a romantic place.

« Relaxing and a beautiful spot. »

An amazing spot on the Ile. Quite and tranquil. Very Relaxing. Facilities great with lovely out door terrace overlooking the estuary and sea salt swimming pool, maybe a little too salty. A little disappointed by the size of the excuetive suite. Overall all would definitely return but with mosquito spray!

The hotel location is wonderful and we loved staying on oleron. However the hotel let us down a number of times. Firstly it’s quite tired and in need of updating. We were very disappointed to be told twice we couldn’t eat in the restaurant because it was full and this was very annoying as we had 2 very young children and there is nowhere else nearby to eat. We ended up having room service which was expensive and very poor quality. Secondly the room promised a nespresso machine but that wasn’t there despite other rooms clearly had them. Also more frustratingly coffee wasn’t replenished in the room each morning meaning for 2 of our 4 nights stay we couldn’t even have a coffee in our rooms. Kind regards J.p.

« Predictable Quality »

Stayed at lot of hotels over planet and often 2nd and subsequent visits are somewhat disappointing. Never been the case with Oléron and staff and Management a credit to your system. To offer referential baseline, both my Wife and I enjoyed 2 nights with executive service at annedebretage, and no complaints there whatsoever. However, when we arrived at Oléron there was a minor hiccup but staff just sorted it out with exemplary professionalism. Credit to your system. We can’t wait come back but don’t to disclose to Brits this little space in Heaven

« A perfect setting for a relaxing stay »

We appreciated the extended opening hours at the pool. The breakfast staff seemed a little stressed. Maybe an extra waitress would not go amiss. The hot drinks system could be improved. In most hotels of this category hot drinks are served at the table. We spent a time queuing at the machines.

The hotel is located just on the beach, that might be a bit useless because of oyster's farm. But on Easters was weather cold so not an issue at all. Hotel itself is clean but all looks a bit used a general renovation should come rather sooner than later. Also the location of one and only lift close to the side door and not close to the hotel main entrance is strange, lift is used by hotel cleaning staff as well, so mostly whole day occupied. Even all staff is very friendly and one has a feeling that is really welcomed due to lack of professional organisation the service at bar was extremally slow - 3 or 4 guys there and total chaos in ordering and distribution of drings. The pool is large and nice, I missed the towels for free ussage, it is generaly available in all Accor wellnes facilities I have visited. So I would recommend some small and cheap issues that can make the visit of this hotel better (better work organisation in bar, towels) , and one big issue - renovation, thar should reconsider overall hotel layout, separate lift for cleaning staff is strongly recomended. Well, neverless I am sure that my wife and me will visit this place again not only because its prominent place but also because of the great hotel staff. Many thanks to all of them.
