OK. Room was comfortable enough. Disappointed with the reception. The receptionist spent most of her time answering the phone and dealing with callers. She ignored guests standing at reception to book in or be dealt with. Poor customer service.

« My favourite hotel in Charters »

This hotel is in the close proximity to my customer, I have been using it since many years, alone as well with colleagues from various countries. I always feel welcome in the hotel, the rooms are OK, and up to standard.

« StoP Over »

Hotel easy to find but a bit away from the centre of Chartres. No eating facilities within an easy walk from hotel and. Ignored at reception whist trying to booking in and out. Only had breakfast at hotel which was fine.

Stay was fine for our purposes of a one night stop over. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast was chaotic and could be better managed for the volume of guests on a weekend morning. Had to ask for bowls, plates as all clean ones had gone and no remaining high chairs made for a stressful experience with children.

« Reception staff excellent but some hiccups during our stay »

The reception area and staff at check in were very nice, polite, smartly dressed and friendly. My wife and I were disappointed with the food at dinner however. Our Broccoli was too buttery and over cooked and the chicken brochette was slightly burnt, including the vegetables. The standard of the food had deteriorate since our previous visits. There was not the variety at breakfast as before. No crepes! Our rooms were really good though. Clean, large and comfortable with everything one would expect. We were very happy with the rooms. Modern interior and overlooking the terrace. Lovely bathroom/shower. But sadly there was no hot water for the showers around 8am (We had two rooms , one for our grandchildren) in the morning. We had to shower in lukewarm water. I called reception and was advised the hot water would be on in 15 minutes but this did not happen and anyway we could not wait. We were given 15% off the room rate but not automatically. I had to suggest that not having hot water to wash ourselves in was not acceptable.

Overall a pleasant experience and I would book again when passing through for 1 night only as the food, pool were perfect for the children. Staff friendly. Menu choice was perfect for the whole family with English written menus for the children including a fun pack on arrival. After a long drive from the South of France as a single mum with 2 children I felt safe and relaxed at the hotel. Arrived at 6pm and managed a dip in the pool - towels available from the pool at reception. *It would be helpful on arrival for the reception staff to informed you of how the bed was already made up and it needed pulling out. *Also with a family room for 3 the children had no pillows on the pull out bed and not enough towels for all 3 guests - only 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels. My Son, 6yrs, draw the short straw and had a hand towel after his bath. *Hairdryer I could not work - tried pressing the reset button....waited and it still did not work. Tried several times. I brought this to the receptionists attention when checking out and she said I needed to press the reset but would mention it to an enginer. *The shower went very hot and very cold....my daughter 10 yrs ended up getting out as it was burning her or freezing her. She had a bath instead. I had a shower and the same happened to me...

« A happy family stop over »

A very comfortable stay for the family at the hotel on our way home . It was clean and welcoming, we had a nice quite room . We enjoyed our dinner in the restaurant , which was great after a long day driving up from the south of France. We selected from the chefs lovely specials of the day . Nothing not to like The only slight quibble we had was we wish we had a little bit more room in the family room a bit more space between the beds Otherwise great we would definitely stay Novotel Chartres again

Everything was fine. We were told when booking that adjoining rooms were impossible but when we arrived were happy to be told that we had adjoining rooms. But we nearly did not book. Trainee operator maybe ? For us the adult food choices in restaurant were very limited and no a la carte menu. (Much more choice on the child's menu) But we were provided with exactly what we asked for even though it was not on the menus. Overall very happy and we shall come again several times each year on route to a home in the south.

« Could be better »

Room good, plenty of room for 3 of us . Very clean and comfortable bed . Quality of dinner acceptable but could have been better - eg better quality of meat, more exciting starters but puddings good . Insufficient staff in restaurant so slow service . Breakfast far too expensive so didn't bother . Paper cups in room could only be used once - but found china ones downstairs which we borrowed . Didn't have time to use pool but looked as though it could do with a refurb.

« Very nice hotel, recently refurbished and looking good. »

Very pleasant. The facilities were excellent. One small problem was the quality of the steaks in the restaurant. They were perfectly cooked, but very gristly. You might want to have a chat with your meat supplier.

« Room OK, no staff on Bar »

Room Ok but toilet seat loose. A softer pillow option would be good. No Staff on bar, they appeared to be in the restaurant and did come to the bar for people in the restaurant but never come to us. Asked reception why no bar staff, they got someone from restaurant to serve us but no accompaniments. Restaurant quite busy, staff rushed, limited menu and no menu translation, did now enjoy experience. Has been much better on previous stays.

Nice hotel once you find it on an industrial estate. Small pool but many children so avoided it. Nice bar and friendly (ish) staff. Aircon in room is pretty poor. Otherwise a fairly good stat.

« At least the bed was comfortable with water in the fridge and air-con »

Bottled water was provided, air-con was fine and the room was clean. However, it certainly wasn't the ideal surroundings to spend our last night of our 2-week holiday by the Chartres by-pass. At least the near-by pizza restaurant and breakfast bakery were great because the centre of Chartres is a class 1 dump with only 1 hotel and the few adjacent restaurant as the evening facilities on offer looking fully occupied
