This hotel was clean and comfortable for a one night's stay. The buffet breakfast was good. The only downside is that it is not in the centre and there is little public transport to it. There are a couple of chain restaurants within a couple of hundred metres if it's restaurant does not provide what you want.

« Great value stopover »

We had a great experience with Novotel. We arrived late into Nantes Atlantique airport and needed to stop over before heading off to our Eurocamp near Blois. Everything was very efficient. Our room was comfortable and clean and the staff were all very friendly. It was nice to be greeted with a smile when we arrived and it helped that the staff spoke English! On the return journey we had booked with Westotel. Westotel was twice the price and nowhere near as friendly or personal experience. We will return to Novotel in the future without hesitation.. Thankyou.

Very disappointed as despite arriving at 6:30 pm the room was not ready, check in is at 3pm, but the rest of the stay was fine, room clean, breakfast good. Hotel is good for our needs as 4 person family to stop over mid way through on the drive south through France. Stayed at this hotel for the same reason the previous two years. Only other minor point, drinks are expensive at the hotel bar not that we had many but at 7 euro for a pint is a bit expensive.

« Room smells of cigarette smoke »

The room had a smell of smoke which is not nice for a non-smoking family with two youngsters. The booking summary described a superior room with free minibar. The minibar was empty and reception explained that there must have been a mistake with the online booking description on the AccorHotels app. This was disappointing not to have the minibar because the online description was the reason for our decision to book the room. The staff and breakfast were excellent.

BUILDING: First impression; Broken gate, to the car park, almost all the letters on te novotel "print" above the entrance were switched off or already came off, which looked very shabby. Over all, the building is in a bad shape. My daughter asked me why we were staying in factory (...). No elevator available which was not a problem for us but with all the luggage would have been helpful. There are baggage trolleys in the hallway upstairs, which helped! STAFF: But... the staff are super friendly, help where they can, and are overall very attentive and pleasant. They were lovely to the girls, and that's why we returned for an extra night on our way back up from Poitiers. They were the sole reason we came back. RESTAURANT: Also, in te restaurant, we had good food and friendly staff. OUTSIDE: The pool was heated as you would expect, which made our stay a lot better for the girls. Table tennis table had no net, unfortunately. Garden needs some more attention but looks like they are trying the best they can. It was still nice to be able to sit outside; Nice tables and lounge seats, and good and clean sunscreens. OVERALL: We thought this was an OK hotel, but it definitely needs some attention/(budget) by the management to fix all the maintenance issues. A big tip for the Novotel group would be to try and get some consistency into their chain. I work as a flight attendant and have seen a lot of hotels obviously, and also in my earlier days a lot of Novotels. I Always have had a soft spot for the company because you always knew exactly what to expect/get. Same orange couch in the room everywhere around the world,, same restaurant menu, same friendliness of the staff, same amenities, it just made me feel like home in a second. Now I can see why my company has stopped working with NOVOTEL You never know what to expect.. one night compared to the other in the same hotel, but also one hotel compared to the other. Later during our holiday we stayed in a just downright terrible NOVOTEL in Amiens, After that experience this one looks like a palace. But that's another story.. I hope you appreciate the feedback, because it pains me to see what happened to the Novotel group. I will be avoiding the chain in the near future and rather pay more to stay in a hotel where i know I will get value for money. For now, It is just too much of a gamble. But coming back to this particular Novoltel: know that the staff are doing their best with what is handed to them and that shows!!! Good job on them!

The location of Novotel Carquefou is very convenient for driving tourists. The facilities has a large surface with swimming pool. You can drive till tramway terminal parking and then take the commute to Nantes City. The price/quality rate is perfect.

The staff went out of their way to make us welcome. We needed advice on having our car repaired and a staff member recommended a good garage and another came with me to make sure there were no language problems. Cannot thank them enough for their care.
