« Far too expensive for quality and service given. »

On arrival the man at reception was very matter of fact. Very long walk down the whole length of hotel to get lift to floor staying on then walk length of hotel again from lift to room. Room tired. No bar staff, working in restaurant. Have to ring bell and wait. Ask for red wine which would you like, then when show voucher told can not have it as not available with free drink voucher. Also told entitled to one glass will have to pay for my wife's. On arrival we asked for 2 room keys. These were provided. On getting to room tried both 1 not work. Told reception they re did it. Tried on room door not work, this happened another 2 times before a lady on reception asked if we had 2 keys. When we confirmed we did she said both had to be amended at once or one will not work. Sure enough problem resolved.

This stay was due to a business trip. The hotel is comfortable but it would be good to know when facilities are available and how long they stay open. The food in the restaurant was below average.

This is the fourth time I have stayed here, and it may well be my last. I was allocated the wrong room to start with, but this was rectified quite quickly. Minutes before dinner, the restaurant was still all in darkness, and it was difficult to find someone to serve a pre-dinner drink. Staff indifference was most pronounced at breakfast. When I arrived, there was nobody around to tell me how the breakfast worked. So I had to work it out for myself, and when the sole person on duty emerged from the kitchen, she was not in the least interested in the customers and promptly walked out of the restaurant. When I was checking out, I spotted her chatting to her colleagues in the office behind reception. I have seldom experienced such indifference. As I say, this was possibly my last visit to this hotel.

I have stayed at this hotel before, but this was not a great experience. I was initially allocated to the wrong room, but this was rectified quite quickly. What disappointed me most was the lack of interest in the guests of the hotel from the bar and catering staff. There was nobody around to serve on the bar just ahead of the dinner service, when people might be looking for a pre-dinner drink. As a silver card holder, I was entitled to a free drink. This was the first hotel in the group to dictate, that I should have the drink from a very small selection of specific wines. (I fully understand the restrictions on champagne, etc.) At breakfast there was only one person on duty in the dining room, and it was obvious she was not at all interested in the guests. She was missing most of the time, and I spotted that she was busy chatting to colleagues in the office behind the reception. I am not sure I will stay again in this particular hotel, although I normally enjoy the Novotel hotels.

When we are leaving on a morning flight from Bordeaux we always stay here. The staff are charming and efficient, the rooms comfortable and you eat well there. It is also only a 5 minute shuttle trip to the airport.

« Disappointing for 2 reasons »

The WiFi was not available which caused me considerable inconvenience The front office advised me that this was due to a failure of the internet within the hotel and were unable to advise me of when this would be rectified.The fault had not been rectified by the following morning which caused me further inconvenience We arrived as probably the last guests to have breakfast at about 0950 on the morning of 08 November to find the buffet looking very tired and depleted.This meant that the breakfast were of poor quality and did not justify the high cost which was charged for them

« Wouldn’t rush to return »

The hotel room was fine - reasonable size and clean but few frills. Limited toiletries and paper cups for tea. Shuttle service from the airport wasn’t easy to arrange but once we managed to get through on the phone it arrived promptly. We arrived at 22:20 and needed to eat. The cafe should have been open until 22:30 but we’re we’re told it was shut. The first reason given was that the fridge was faulty but when we queried this we were told that there was no electricity in the kitchen. Whatever the reason, it was solved by breakfast time. This had limited options and the big three-section plates were cumbersome.

« Very disappointed with a hotel that claims to be 4 star and that is in dire need of a makeover »

I felt that I had paid very much over the odds for a hotel that simply wasn't up to the standard of a 4 star establishment. My room was poorly prepared, mini bar wasn't properly stocked when I arrived, there were zero coffee capsules for the cofee machine and the pillow case hadn't been changed since the last guests (it smeeled of perfume). I was on a business trip and needed to iron a few shirts but was told at reception that there were only 8 irons and they were all out. 8 irons for a hotel of this size is simply not enough and the ironing board in the room seems as though it was designed for a child to use. What is the point of an ironing board if you can't provide an iron? No offer of contacting me in the morning if one became available. I got the impression that the staff were as disappointed to work there as I was to stay. I didn't even attempt to eat at the restaurant so can't comment on this area, but I usually take breakfast at every hotel I stay in. The fact that I didn't even attempt it here speaks volumes I think.
