Nice location, but a couple of unacceptable things for a Novotel. First of all, as a Gold member we have the right to an upgrade if available. We had to ask, and the answer was that they had to look into it, but not know, maybe in the evening (considering we were staying one night... not very useful). Then, as many other guests, we were horrified by the fact that the room was extremely cold. We were told at reception that they refused to put on the heating as it was only September... Absolutely ridiculous considering the cold temperatures outside. The room must have been at 16 degrees at best. Nobody seems to care much about the customer, which for a hotel business is quite strange...

The bedroom smelt of drains and that's probably because they were blocked ? Water in the bathroom didn't drain away easily. No iron in the room although reception did provide one on asking. This hotel does not merit it's four stars, I have stayed in better Ibis hotels !! Limited choice at breakfast, again most 4 star hotels have a much better spread. This was the second we stayed at this hotel but there will not be a third !

We arrived to find our booking was not on the system despite having received email confirmation; 2 rooms, 2 adults. Thankfully there were available rooms. My room smelt of cigarettes which I think was travelling through the A/C unit???? My colleague had to change rooms twice as the allocated rooms were under renovation. Eventually we went over to the restaurant for dinner; after the meal we were unable to book the meal to our rooms as the booking in procedure had not been completed correctly and no credit had been asked for!

location has huge potential but rooms smelt of damp, food average and service mixed.

The location and buildings have huge potential to make it an amazing hotel. There are some nice details like the flowers on the front of the reception building but it mostly looks like its been half done. The rooms had a funny musty smell and were quite damp. The food was average and while some some staff were good, others really couldn't be bothered.

Lovely hotel & grounds. Room was very comfortable. Bar service incredibly slow & sometimes quite rude. No obvious management around the hotel. Everything else was fine.

This was the worst Novotel J have stayed in. Asked for a non smoking rom yet bedroom smelt strongly of cigarette smoke. Service on the terasse was appalling- 30 mins to get a drink. Ran out of chips and St Emilion wine. Pate served without bread Rom still not made at 6pm and general shortage of staff especially someone in charge

Always lovely I enjoy staying in your hotel and the surroundings just simply loveable. This was our sixth time staying with you . We did had some minor problems like our key card was not active throughout the stay we had to daily activate it . Housekeeping keep on forgetting koffie melk en sugar.

The staff was always very helpful and friendly however, we think that the hotel has potential for more entertaining activities for the guests. Taking into consideration that you are in the middle of nowhere this point could be improve. Also, despite the good food and variety of the restaurant the place itself could be renovated in order to be more attractive and tourists would appreciate a taste of french cuisine. Regarding the rooms, there is a strong carpet smell.

We were warmly welcomed and our room was spacious and comfortable. We wanted to use the bikes and the staff unlocked and told us to take the 2 best ones. However the bikes were in poor condition. My bike was actually a childs bike so even with the seat raised as high ad possible I was still eating my knees when I pedaled. My husband and poor tires and breaks. We quickly returned the bikes. We had made a reservation for dinner as advised by staff. The menu was terrible, all over the place and made little sense if one is trying to put together a full meal. Everything we ordered including the wine was inedible. The staff was disinterested and even forgot a salad we had ordered, the dining room was dismal and in need of repair as is the entire chateau and the grounds. On a plus note, Breakfast in the hotel was delicious. The staff helpful and the breakfast room attractive. This lodging does not live up to the reputation of a Novotel.

The renovators made a lot of noise waking us up

This is a great hotel in a beautiful setting. But we did not like that we were woken up by the noise produced by the workers renovating the rooms around us. Could this not have been postponed? Also the electricity was suddenly cut off so we needed to use another room to shower and dress. Last but not least the proposed breakfast option of coffee and a croissant at the restaurant did not seem to be possible when we arrived. Good hotel with top price quality, hampered by the renovation.

We had an enjoyable stay at the hotel. The rooms were well-equipped and we had a lovely view over the park. We didn't eat in the restaurant or use the swimming pool so I can't comment on those. The pool table in the bar area could do with some restoration and new needs new cues, but it's great for the children to have a choice of activities on-site (swimming pool, badminton, table tennis, pétanque...). Breakfast was okay, though I couldn't understand why the scrambled eggs were cold. Compared with other Novotel hotels I've stayed in, there were less hot food and fresh fruit choices. Great location for Parc Asterix, Chantilly and Paris. There was a bit of a mix-up with the invoice - you'd overcharged me. The system of fast checkout/invoice by email obviously doesn't allow customers to check this before leaving, so I had to phone twice and send an email. I have now received a new invoice and will hopefully get my refund in the next few days. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay.

We had an enjoyable 3 night stay at the Chateau de Maffliers. The staff are very friendly and our two rooms well-equipped and very clean. The hotel is well situated for Chantilly Castle, Parc Asterix, and, of course, Paris. The castle itself is currently undergoing renovations, but this wasn't a problem for us. We didn't use the swimming pool or restaurant so I can't comment on these. The bar has a pool table which could do with restoring. There are attractive seating areas outside as well as table tennis, badminton and petanque, so plenty of activities to occupy the children. Breakfast was okay, though it was a bit strange that the scrambled eggs were cold each morning. Overall an enjoyable stay.

Very nice property. Enjoyed everything, but food service could be greatly improved.

As a Platinum Member of Accor I do expect certain treatment, this has certainly not been the case upon my arrival, no recognition of my status, no welcome amenity in the room, no assistance with luggage where we were left to struggle ... I do realise your property is a Novotel thus 3 star but certainly would expect more from any branded property! However, my main dissatisfaction has mainly been regarding the below: - we have paid for 2 rooms for 3 nights here to spend a memorable time with our friends and to celebrate a 50th birthday - they too have of course paid for rooms here at the same time - Saturday morning we booked a 7 seater taxi to take us to a restaurant for the birthday celebration dinner for 8.15pm ... at 8.25pm the taxi was not here so the gentleman at Reception called - there had been a mistake with the booking, the taxi had been booked for 10.15pm!! Your staff then tried to find an alternative but there were NO taxis available, I ended up having to take my car illegally with 6 people to the restaurant to try to save the evening - we arrived 30 minutes late and already everybody stressed and not in good spirit! - Obviously I left my car there for the night .. we managed to get Mr. Christian to pick us up ... he was late of course! Then when we questioned him about the booking he was adamant it was the hotel's fault - he said that it happens all the time!! When we arrived back at the hotel he then charged us 60 Euro for the trip!! We were amazed and angry, both at his charge and at the hotel who should have informed us that a taxi may be so expensive ... your colleagues this morning have told me it should have been no more than 40 Euro at most! - Finally, to end the celebration evening which had been a disaster we wanted to have a last drink at the hotel ... it was just before midnight - the girl on Reception told us the Bar closes at midnight and it should be fine ... we then headed over to the Bar and arrived and 1 minute past .. our friend has MS and is walking with walking sticks so we could not run .... the Bar Man then told us the Bar was closed!!!! I explained it was a celebration, we had had a difficult evening and that our friend is Disabled, he basically told us "tough" .. the Bar is closed!!! - After struggling back to the hotel I then asked Reception if we could order a drink via Room Service instead ... she told me Room Service closed at Midnight!!! Why could she not have explained that the first time whilst we were there before midnight, we could have ordered room service directly!! So to end a disastrous evening we could not even get a final drink to relax and celebrate ... as we all know, timings in hotels are flexible, especially on special occasions! - Of course yesterday I had to go back to pick up my car - another 20 Euro expense via Uber! As you can see, what was meant to have been a wonderful birthday celebration weekend turned into a disaster ... mainly due to the Hotel and staff actions ... not at all what is expected from an Accor branded hotel! Finally, our last dinner last night in the restaurant also turned into a complete disaster - the Pad Thai ordered by 2 guests came without all the ingredients it was meant to have - when they complained they were told that the kitchen had run out of vegetables, coriander, peanuts ... why did they then decide to serve just plain noodles to the guests??? Nothing was offered in terms of complimentary wine etc apart from a digestive, 2 of our party went without dinner at all ... absolutely ridiculous!

First night was awful, hottest day in France and no working AC. When asked at the reception, nothing could be done to help. Following times were better after moving us. Hôtel was nice, and staff helpful. Hard to access the place without a car.
