« Lovely and Relaxing... Aircon needs attention »

Stayed here for a couple of nights before our trip to Disney. We stayed here before and we love the hotel. We did have and issue with the aircon on the first night and we had to moved. Then the next day we had to be moved again because of a power issue but the stuff dealled with quite well and upgraded our room. We will return again and hopefully no issues next time :)

We have stayed at this Hotel a few times. Friendly Staff. Good Location Good Food but limited menu Peaceful setting for families and Business people. A perfect hotel for travelers who do not want to drive into the centre of Paris.

Constantly left waiting in bar and restaurant, no handles or grips to enter or exit the swimming pool for those people with reduced mobility or handicapped. The lower ground floor constantly smelt damp with a very foul odour. After the first night the toiletries were not replenished, neither were any of the the coffee and milk sachets or cups. Went to reception to be told that if we wanted more of any of the above items we had to come to reception each morning. Really? So you expect customers to visit the reception when they want to shower each day? Even in an IBIS hotel the chambermaids replenish the items each morning and this is the first Novotel I've stayed in since 1990 the the chambermaids don't replenish the toiletries. Why not ask people to come to reception for towels each day? Assan was a very good member of staff.

« Cold welcoming »

I have booked many bookings at the Novotel Maffliers, prior to using a membership card and my welcome was always warm and made me the client feel special. On this occasion the receptionist was cold mildly sarcastic, when I ask about the WiFi. “Bonjour Madame est-ce que vous pouvez me donner le code Wifi?” She just replied like I was bothering her NOVOTEL and I then ask for the password to which she replied if there was a password I would have gave you it Monsieur!

« Good value hotel in a great location »

My friend and I enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It was a bit of a disappointment arriving to see the rather dull-looking outbuilding we were staying in; to find that our room was not set up for two singles and then being moved to a room with no view when we had paid for a superior room with a view. However, the staff were nice and it was good value overall. The restaurant and pool are through the grounds and over in the Chateau and it is a lovely place to be - nice old bar and lovely outside Terrace/restaurant to relax in. The menu was a little odd - too much fusion and not enough French food - so we opted for an excellent cheese platter instead and were very impressed with it. The breakfast was excellent - lots of choice - good breads, ham, cheeses, fruit, yoghurt, teas and decent coffee, as well as cooked options of sausages etc. Woujd stay again.

« Great service, Great condition, Great Value »

Front desk and check in was pleasant. Room was clean and well prepared, and well maintained even for the age of the hotel. Chateau bar prices are in line with restaurants we have experienced in the Paris area. We did not use the restaurant. Swimming pool design was good for a few laps and sufficient for a hotel, also very clean - only missing towels or at least a warning in the room to take my towels in the room to the pool (walk from room to pool is a good 100 meters). Breakfast was simple but adequate for price charged. All in all, excellent value for the money, excellent place to stay near Paris especially if you arrive with a vehicle. RER station is reacheable by walking or bicycle through a beautiful town - streets are narrow and steep though.

It is a very tranquil place lovely walks around the estate. Could possibly have a shuttle bus to town every hour or so for those who didn’t come by their own transport

« Temperature control needed in conference rooms - very uncomfortable throughout stay »

Conference rooms extremely hot. Constantly asked for air conditioning but staff unable to control temperature. No phone signal at castle. Food good but service at meal times extremely slow. Lunches took 1.5 hours. Lovely grounds. Nice sport facilities, especially swimming pool. Towels should be made available at swimming pool.

« Nice hotel and beautiful site, very good cooking, but bad service in restaurant and bar »

We have mixed feelings about our stay. We liked the hotel and the surrounding Castle and woods, but there were unacceptable problems with the service. We have the feeling this was linked to the fact that we came with a Bongo Bon and that everything has to be cheap. There was clearly missing a manager. - At the hotel : we had to ask at least 4 times to change our cards since only one of them or none was working. The rooms were rather dusty because of the carpet on the floor and the couch in the room. - In the restaurant : the attendant Jessica proposed to take another bottle of champagne that wasn't on the menu card but didn't name the price. When we asked for it it was 120 EUR!!! When we said it was too much she showed a negative reaction. The menu cards given to us were full of food stains and there were some ants crawling over the table. To be honest we didn't mention it the first day but we did the second day. We were proposed the menu for a Bongo Bon. The waitress explained that we could eat from the card but then only 18 EUR were deducted from the price. This seems us much too little since 70 EUR was paid for the dinner with the Bongo Bon for one night (170 EUR in total). We paid for an additional bongo bon later by reservation. With regards to the Bongo Menu there was only choice between 3 menu's, from which one was vegetarian. Since we were staying 2 nights we asked for another choice the second day. Jessica would ask the chef but the second day she said that the chef didn't want to make another menu. So we really didn't have a choice the second day. The second day we talked about the ants (still crawling on our table) and the waitress replied "I don't know why". I have vacuumed this morning. Dinner was twice very good but the chef had forgotten our vegetables and the first day I really had a very small piece of Salmon. this was presented without any vegetables. - In the bar : after dinner we went to the bar: we sat there for nearly half an hour and were leaving. Going out we saw Jessica and told her. She called for her colleague and only then someone came. We ordered an Irish Coffee (It wasn't on the menu but the guy was eager to prepare one for me) and a bailey's. The guy poured some Whiskey into the glass and disappeared again for over more then 20 minutes. After that we heard some giggling coming from another room and a second man came into the bar and poured another glass of whiskey without saying anything or addressing some kind of apology and left again. My wife hadn't even received her bailey's yet in the meantime. We then left the bar and made our complaints to Jessica who just answered by saying that that wasn't her fault but her colleagues and that she was only there for the restaurant. This is the reason why we find that there was a manager missing in the restaurant. Needless to say that the second evening we didn't go to the bar which is a pity because it is very cosy and nice to sit there. The bread was very difficult to cut with our knives and to chew which we don't understand for France is well known for its bread culture. This was also the case for the bread at breakfast, which for the rest was very,very good. We can assure you that we have regular stays in France (even in other hotels from the Novotel Group) and that we usually don't complain easily but this was really not worth the price that has been paid and certainly not worth paying for a second night. We were surprised since we know that this is not common for the Novotel Group. We hope that our comments will help you in the future.

The hotel was full due to a wedding but our room which was on the upper floor above the reception area was unbelievably quiet :o) Quiet air conditioning as well. Beautiful setting surrounded by tress and fields, ample parking also. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful, couldn't fault them which is rare for a french hotel. The only meal we had at the hotel was breakfast and there was everything you could wish for. An important meal for us English and they got it spot on. Particularly liked the individual brioches. Should we need to we'll be back without hesitation ☺
