It would have been courteous to have been told that the hotel was undergoing major refurbishment but to be perfectly honest such lack of customer care did not surprise me. It would also have been nice to know that the hotel no longer caters properly for business clients because it has stripped most of the rooms of desks - but again such lack of customer care did not surprise me. The hotel appears to be becoming a cheap-looking, unattractive Ibis-type place with a terrible restaurant but very nice staff, who unfortunately are not enough to compensate for its multiple drawbacks. It was (sort of) nice knowing you,.

Hotel was busy with a lot of guests and the staff at the bar and in the restaurant were overloaded due to a large number of people all wanting to eat at the same time, but they were working very hard and very well to deal with the situation. They were some of the best hotel staff I have seen in any hotel. The hotel is currently being refurbished and it will better when this work is completed.

« Arriving late and tired to be received by a building site »

The experience was so bad it is going to become one of those joke anecdotes about the horrors of staying in hotels. Nothing on the website indicated that this hotel was being rebuilt and was no more than a large building site. Usually hotels inform you if there are works being carried out. I have never in all my years in hotels arrived to find a hotel accepting guests when it was totally unfit for habitation. What was worse is that the room rate was more or less the same as other similar or better hotels in the same locality where the hotels were not in the midst of a total refurbishment

A one night stopover. Hotel is off major roadway just outside Reims city center. Based on USA standards, a 2 star hotel but at a cost of $180, not a 2 star price. It served our needs, though. Hotel is in mid-renovation, with construction barriers and equipment inside. Paper numbers on doors of rooms, but carpet and beds seemed new. Reception is set up temporarily in the entrance of the bar, up three steps (a problem for disabled guests). Room was very spacious and sound-proofing was good. Bathroom not very clean and there were issues with the tub/shower that made it difficult for older guests with mobility issues. Breakfast was set up in the bar and offered a good selection with attentive, pleasant wait staff.

good location and 10 mins where i had to be on monday morning, the hotel resturant and reception area ha work going on , so bar and resturant has limited menu, other wise a good size room and a good nights sleep

Very welcoming male receptionist, think it was Stephanie and extremely helpful. Refurbished room, very nice and very much like the bedrooms in Mercure Cathedral where we usually stay, but the cost per night is very much cheaper. Meal very good.

Hotel personnel were lovely and helpful but the hotel itself was not great! An old, tired building! Rooms were clean enough but had seen better days, wallpaper peeling, bottom of bathroom door so scuffed, toilet so low it hurt to sit on it, it creaked when you did and didn't flush very well. The carpets in the corridor were just dreadful. The restaurant wa moved to the Rotonde, a hot airless room, where we saw cockroaches! Mistake in the food order because the waitress had to "compute" to the kitchen, leaving the restaurant unattended for periods of time, especially when one (presumably staff member) was clearly trying to chat her up during the service. Breakfast was dreadful. We had to ask for espresso, because a jug of Americano was the coffee offer, only orange juice, no "alternative" produce (soya/gluten free etc.)- if breakfast had not been included in the senior rate, I would have complained. Good points- staff offered senior rate for the stay (which I didn't know about), took time to find our account (my husband had his old accor card with him) and we got 2x litre bottles of water to take with us the next day with our "bon de boisson de bienvenue".

Very well equipped hotel with spacious room excellent bed and sheets. Bathroom sink was blocked and water drained very slowly. Grab handle for safety in the bath for entry and exit would be a welcome addition. Food expensive for the quality.

This look like an old building 60s/70s? that is poorly decorated, in an old style. The food and wine choices are limited. The bedrooms lack style and bathrooms are old fashioned with ageing tiles.
