Location is perfect and staff really really helpful and friendly. Hotel itself could use some renovation though. To bad there is no balcony where you actually can sit on. Unfortunately this is not very clear in the description or photo's from the hotel

Wonderful! We travel a lot and can't remember ever having been so impressed with the level of service from the entire team of staff than that at the Mercure Nice Hotel. From the moment we arrived - our receptionist was so welcoming it set the tone for our short stay. Breakfast dining area was a bit chaotic but the very friendly and wonderful team were always on hand with a smile and helping hand. The chambermaids were also lovely and no-one ever passed you without a 'bonjour'! In our experience of staying in over 10 other hotels in Nice this hotel is exceptional.

Shame on you! Your hotel is a disgrace! The smell of sewerage, mould and lack of general maintenance is a disgrace to the Accor group worldwide.

I have stayed here quite a few times over the past years, usually alone but once or twice with family. I had booked a garden view room because it is significantly cheaper than the sea view rooms (although you can still see the sea from garden view) but was informed on arrival that I had been upgraded to sea view. Everything worked and the air conditioning was efficient and quiet.

Pleasant Reception Location of room excellent. However, standard of room disappointing. Acrid stench of drains unbearable. Stains on carpet looked like incomplete pick up of possible spilt food/faeces? Reported to Reception and relocated to alternative room of the same price on other side of hotel. The room wasn’t ready so waited 1.5hrs for room. In interim another couple complained about smell in their room ( a City View lower priced room). The Manager overruled the Receptionist - who was dealing with our problem - and allocated our new alternative room to this couple!!! I was mortified. However, there was nothing we could do. By then time was ticking on and the only room available was then a downgrade and 20 Euros compensation, which we had to accept. The room enjoyed a view of Park and partial seaview, but the cleanliness of the room once again needed attention. Instead of bothering the busy Reception team I spoke directly to the housekeeper about the spillages/marks on the carpet that needed clearing and cleaning up. But to no avail. The plastic air vent on window had been half snapped off! The fridge furnishing was damaged to the extent that it looked as if it had been purposely bashed. Stains on the carpet in front of the fridge were obvious liquid marks trailing out if what was a defrosted fridge. The bathroom is set out well, with a good shower. Around the shower edges, the gathering mould needs a good clean and bleach. The next morning I asked The Manager if we could delay our check out for 2 hours, there was initially a reluctance ad if it was going to be a major problem, but as soon as I said we would use our 20 Euros compensation in lieu of this, suddenly this was fine. To conclude, we were very disappointed. Your Reception staff (especially Deliti) are very good and their firefighting problem skills (especially during an extremely busy check in period) are superb. The Manager needs to listen and support her staff more. The hotel needs a little more investment in training the housekeeping staff to deliver the superior standard of cleanliness we are used to receiving in your hotels. Spillages that have solidified on carpets and walls need to be completely cleaned up and not partially. Bathrooms need to be cleaned with some form of environmentally friendly bleach to avoid mould forming. Damaged furniture needs to be repaired/replaced. Get rid of carpets and replace with porcelain tiles that can be cleaned. If acoustics are a problem then introduce runners from door to bed to window. The drains definitely need investigating as the extent of the odour is so revolting that this could possible be a health and safety issue. Paint bathroom walls white or a light colour so they look clean, airy and spacious. I offer my experience to carry out a full constructive audit for you if you so wish?

The hotel is in an excellent location with great views of the sea. We had initially booked a garden & seaview room but when we checked in the first room had damage to several pieces of furniture. the second room we were offered also had similar levels of damage to the furniture. We were then offered a seaview room at an additional cost of 40 euros a night, which we took purely for the view. I'm sad to say that this room also had damage to the furniture containing the fridge even though the room had been recently refurbished. This cabinet was obviously not replaced when the room was refurbished which I really don't understand. This small defect let down first impression of the entire room.

Great location. Run down furniture with pieces of the cabinet missing and door handle broken. Very bad food at breakfast but great service.

Booked for my moms birthday a priviledged room with sea view and balcony, got nothing like that. Very dark, no balcony, no sea view. Instead of twin beds , got prepared double bed. Breakfast always the same every morning. Area of the hotel very good, everything near buy, small streets with lot of shops and restaurants. I would come back, but only if that wouod be sea view room. Other rooms are not worth a price.

We were having a pleasant stay at the hotel. The staff at reception and Gabrielle at the breakfast restaurant were really helpful and friendly. However, we had unpleasant situation in our last day at the breakfast restaurant. When we arrived at the restaurant there was a table by the window and we decided to hold the table for us. I left my wife at the table and went to inform this to the hostess. I talked to her and also let her know that my wife was there. She said that it was fine. I went back to the table and told my wife that everything was ok. When she was picking up some coffee, Soraya started to point at her in the middle of the restaurant to the hostess. Then the hostess asked her what was her room number and what she was doing there. She told her our room number and explained that I had already told her that she was there. After this, when she turned to go back to the table everyone around her was looking at her in a way that she really felt really embarrassed although she have done nothing wrong. Soraya or the hostess didn’t apologize or even tried to make up the situation. We were never expecting such disrespectful treatment from the staff of one of the biggest hospitality group. I hope this feedback will help the company to hire better staff and invest in training specially when staff think that “free-riders” are stealing food from the restaurant (they might be one of your guests).

My stay at the hotel was easy. Everything was good. The only problem that I can identify is that the shower had a very strong body odor smell. I even tried to leave the door to the shower open to air it out, but nothing worked.

How can a “superior” room come with no bedside tables, ripped curtains and damaged patio doors?? Constant stench of sewage. Paying almost €2000 for 5 days at this excuse for a hostel was my biggest mistake of the year. Disgraceful, the owners should be ashamed. Also, stop sending me repeat requests to review your awful hotel, how you think anyone can leave a positive review is absolutely beyond me

Always looked after very well by Every member of staff. Room was ready on time and very clean. The hotel was very busy but everyone had time for questions or help and always done with a smile. Location excellent. Rooms becoming a little in need of fresh decoration but can't complain.
