The Dunsborough Arts Festival is coming to Western Australia from March 2-4 and is sure to delight families and couples who are in the area for this annual highlight
The festival is absolutely free and is located - as the name suggests - in Dunsborough, which is just under 250 km south of Perth. As a coastal spot, Dunsborough is the perfect location to head to with friends or family and this new festival may inspire your cultural side. This annual affair has been running for well over a decade and is a highlight for the region, according to Dunsborough Arts Festival Association Chair Jacquie Happ. Two key events of the festival are the Classics by the Bay and Rhythms by the Bay concerts, held on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 March, respectively. These events are sure to delight locals as well as visitors to the area. The festival is also host to a range of other fantastic creative events and stalls, from Dunsborough X-Factor performances to musical workshops. There's also a Sculpture by the Bay exhibition, which is accompanied by a recycled material workshop on March 3. This means festival participants can help create something that's part of the festival itself. This interactive aspect to the event will certainly please the creative crowds. If you're heading to Dunsborough in March, be sure to check out the festival. While you're in the area, there are also plenty more fantastic activities to keep you entertained. Head to Cape Naturalist Lighthouse if you fancy taking in some breathtaking, expansive views. There's a walking trail for those who fancy a spot of intense exercise, or you can simply climb the lighthouse and take in the 360 degree views of Geographe Bay from the top. If you're lucky, you might even spot some whales! At the town's borders you'll be able to explore local wineries, where semillons, cabernets and sweet chardonnays will please your palette
