We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay, especially because of one young staff member who was so thoughtful and kind he made our poolside trips more than memorable. His attention to detail, customer service and memory of our names was remarkable. He even brought our 4 year old daughter a cake with candle to celebrate her birthday.

Our room was on the ground floor of block B (212) and as we were there for a golfing holiday, we would have preferred a room with a golf view. Surely, as we'd booked the room via Golfbreaks.co.uk this could have been easy to arrange. The hotel displays 'green' notices in the bathroom, asking guests to re-use towels to conserve natural resources but as there are no towel rails on which to hang used towels to dry, re-using them is very difficult. Despite being told at golf reception that golf buggies were included in the fee, I was annoyed to find that a charge of MAD400 per round, was added to my check-out invoice. On the whole, the hotel is beautiful with well kept gardens. The only issue we encountered was a rather unsightly dangling net from the roof of the outdoor section of Al Ain restaurant. Also, the sparrows are a nuicance and are even found inside the breakfast buffet area, nibbling at croissants and bread.

Regarding the towel rails, I would like to assure you that they are currently being installed in almost all our rooms. Lastly, I would like to apologies for the confusion you had with your invoice. Actually, the Golf Buggies are not included in the green fees, and I have personally followed up on your comment with the golf team to avoid any future incident in this regard. The rooms are lovely, the whole place is beautiful. The spa is great, the pools - overall a very pleasant stay. HOWEVER, I had to mention just too many times about the plastic bottles all in the sun and therefore with condensation outside, the cling film which is used without any measure to cover anything from snacks and fruits in the room all the way to the super hot tagines at the BBQ restaurant! Again, this is a major health & safety issue as we know now that clingfilm is a type of plastic that melts letting dangerous micro-particles of plastic fall into the food. I expect a LOT more than this from a 5-star hotel that belongs to a major chain. The managers should be training their staff in everything concerning health & safety. Single-se plastic should be banned, and is starting to be in Europe - I realise that in Marrakesh it might not yet be on the political agenda, but again I would be expecting a hotel chain like ACCOR to be looking at this across the board. I find it really disappointing that they do not, and for this reason alone I would no longer stay in an ACCOR hotel. It is our duty and the one of any business to look at sustainability for two main reasons: 1) the planet and our survival and 2) because they will start getting a LOT of shareholder pressure.

As a LHW member and having been at the resort a few times already, I would have expected a warmer welcome as in other hotels I go to. Pick up and transfer went very well, everyone nice and efficient. Upon arrival at the hotel one did not feel very welcomed. While waiting for our room to be ready we were told we would get a welcome drink (which never arrived and we had to ask for it). Our room was very nice. I have always said you have great rooms, good quality bed, furnishings, air conditioning that does not make noise - very well done! We had the villa which when you book indicates a butler on hand during your stay. This was not true. We met our butler the first day and then that was it. For all our needs we still had to contact the various departments /services and butler was never seen again. Management of the pool area not efficient. Poor staff running all over the place trying to satisfy customers but if things were organized better this would not occur. Also quality of seating should be upgraded (already said this in last review) and more umbrellas should be available since in this hot country everyone needs one! Restaurant quality has gone down versus previous visits but pricing stayed extremely high. Service at the restaurant should be managed better as well. The waiters are super busy but not managed appropriately and we had to wait a long time for any request we had, instead of staff being attentive to us we would always be looking to try to catch someone rushing past to help us out. We had an issue with the 50% discount indicated on the website for children under 12. None of the staff understood this condition nor applied it and we ended up having discussions with every meal which was tiring and frustrating . Only one Manager Sofia was available and sorted out the issue for us which we thank her very much for but unfortunately we were almost at the end of our stay when we met her. If management had sorted this out from the start it would have been a more pleasant stay. Lovely golf course, very well kept and nice staff. Unfortunately the only golf club that does not take care to wash your clubs for you at the end of the day therefore we left no tip. We would also make restaurant reservations with the concierge and we would not end up on the list when we got to the restaurant. Silly mistakes that should not happen with the money spent at this hotel. Conclusion: you need to manage more appropriately, be more attentive to customers, improve the quality of the food or lower the prices.
